Hokuto no Ken was released in the same year as the Nintendo Entertainment System was released in Japan: 1983. Thanks to the NES, the video game market picked up speed after the crash and it didn't take long for the first Hokuto no Ken video game to be released. Over the years there have been a number of games based on the series, some good, many bad. Most of these games are exclusive to Japan, but occasionally the odd title is released overseas. This is a fairly complete list of all Hokuto no Ken video games, in the order they were released. The only ones I missing at the moment are the Pachi Slot games.

	A graphic adventure game which features the Southern Cross arc from the Manga.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken *Format:* Mark III By: SEGA Released: July 1986
	A scrolling beat 'em up in the style of Kung Fu Master.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken *Format:* Famicom *By:* Toei Released: October 1986
	Another scrolling beat 'em up.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken 2 Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu *Format:* Famicom By: Toei Released: April 1987
	Another scrolling beat 'em up, only this one actually got released in America.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken: Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu *Format:* SEGA Mega Drive By: SEGA Released: July 1989
	The sequel to SEGA's Mark III game, which now focuses on the story of Hokuto no Ken 2. A heavily edited version of this game was released in America and Europe, under the name of Last Battle.

	The first Hokuto no Ken RPG for Nintendo's console.

	The first one on one fighting game based on the series.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken 4: Shichisei Hakenden: Hokuto Shinken no Kanatae *Format:* Famicom By: Toei Released: March 1991
	The second Hokuto no Ken RPG for Nintendo's console, with a totally original storyline!

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken 5: Tenma Ryūsei Den: Ai Zesshō *Format:* Super Famicom By: Toei Released: July 1992
	The first Hokuto no Ken game for the Super Famicom is another RPG with another totally original story.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken 6 Gekitō Denshōken: Haō no Michi *Format:* Super Famicom By: Toei Released: November 1992
	A few months after HnK 5 came this one on one fighting game.

	The final Hokuto no Ken game for the Super Famicom.

	A cancelled one on one fighting game that very little is known about. It had a copyright year of 1995.

	A graphic adventure, which has a new story taking place after the events of Hokuto no Ken 2.

	*Title:* Typing Ougi Hokuto no Ken Gekiuchi *Formats:* PC By: SSI Tristar Released: March 1999
	Learn to type on a keyboard in the first Hokuto no Ken typing tutor.

	*Title:* Punch Mania: Hokuto no Ken *Format:* Arcade By: Konami Released: March 2000
	Considered by many to be the best HnK game, this lets you become the successor to Hokuto Shinken! Known as Fighting Mania outside Japan.

	*Title:* Typing Haou Hokuto no Ken Gekiuchi 2 *Format:* Arcade By: SSI Tristar Released: July 2000
	A new version of the previous typing tutor which has more levels and two different playable characters.

	*Title:* Hokuto no Ken: Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu *Format:* Sony Playstation *By:* Bandai Released: October 2000
	The first 3D Hokuto no Ken is a beat 'em up. Also the second and last HnK game for the original Playstation.

	An upgrade to Punch Mania that features everything from the original along with new chapters featuring characters from Hokuto no Ken 2.

	The third typing tutor game.

	The fourth and seemingly final typing tutor game.

	A 3D remake of the 1986 Mark III game.

	A 2D one on one fighting game. Also known as Hokuto no Ken Shinban no Sōsōsei: Kengō Retsuden and released in American arcades as just Fist of the North Star.

	An interactive version of the manga.

	Based on the Ten no Haoh anime, this is a one on one fighting game.

	*Title:* Hokuto Musou *Formats:* Playstation 3, Xbox 360 *By:* Koei Released: March 2010
	Known as Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage outside of Japan.

	*Title:* Shin Hokuto Musou *Formats:* Nintendo Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 *By:* Koei Released: December 2012
	The sequel to Hokuto Musou greatly expands on the cast of playable cast of characters, speeds up the gameplay and has an online mode. This game is called Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 outside of Japan.

	*Title:* Hokuto Ga Gotoku *Formats:* Playstation 4 *By:* Koei Released: March 2018
	A action adventure game in the style of the Yakuza series, featuring an original storyline. Known as Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise outside of Japan.
