Hokuto no Ken 7

Hokuto no Ken 7 Seiken Retsuden: Denshōsha no Michi
-From Rage Quitter 87's Fist of the North Star site

Hokuto no Ken 7 was released on the 24th of December, 1993, and was the last Hokuto no Ken game to be released for the Super Famicom. Like the previous game, Hokuto no Ken 7 is a one one one 2D fighter, but unfortunately fails to make any significant improvements and is actually worse in some areas, such as featuring an awful frame-rate. All of the Hokuto no Ken 2 characters featured in the previous game (Kaioh, Kuroyasha, Falco) were removed, and replaced with Shin, Shuu and Juuza. Heart and King Fang are also in the game, but can only be used by the CPU (although it is possible to hack the game and make them playable).

Gameplay

After selecting a character, no matter which mode you choose, the objective is to defeat your opponent. Each fighter has several different basic punches or kicks, along with special techniques of their fighting styles. Beneath each character's HP gauge is the Offensive Power gauge, which can be charged up and used to perform special moves. The story mode only lets you play as Kenshiro, but battle mode lets you select any character and a 2 player vs mode is also present.

Aside from having most of the same problems as the last game, Hokuto no Ken 7 is even choppier than before and the A.I. can also be far too difficult, even on the easiest setting. And this was released after the latest version of Street Fighter II on the Super Famicom -and once again, this was a total embarrassment in comparison to it.
