In the year 199X, the Earth was engulfed in nuclear flames. The oceans have dried out, and the Earth's surface has split. It seemed as though all forms of life had been wiped out. However, humanity struggled to survive. The people waited for a savior, who could bring back light to the desolate century's end.

The 2,000 Year-old Tragedy of the North Star!
Hear the Footsteps of the Fist King!!

At Mamiya's village, Lin is watering some flowers when Bat sneaks up on her and scares her. Bat says he's sorry, but he saw her being all spaced out when she was watering those flowers and couldn't help himself.

Lin says she was thinking about Ken, and about when they first met. Bat remembers, it was when Zeed had taken her captive. Kenshiro appeared, and used the North Star hundred crack fist technique on Zeed.

Kenshiro saved Lin, and Zeed was defeated. From that point, Kenshiro, Bat and Lin started their journey together. Lin says that Ken was looking for his fiance, Yuria, and Shin, the man who had taken her away from him. Bat recalls that Shin used the South Star holy fist.

Kenshiro eventually confronted Shin, and defeated him. But it was too late, as Yuria had killed herself already. She didn't want Shin to continue doing what he had been doing, and ended her life by jumping off of his fortress.

Lin says she couldn't bear to see Ken after that. Bat says that Yuria still lives inside Kenshiro's heart. They then met Mamiya, the leader of her village.

When Kenshiro first saw Mamiya, he was taken aback -she looked so much like Yuria. Bat then says they then met another person: Rei, the man of mystery. Lin says that when she first met Rei, she was really scared.

But it turned out that Rei had a sad past too. Rei's sister, Airi, was captured by bandits the night before her wedding. Just before he died, Rei's father told his son that the person who took Airi was a man with seven scars. Kenshiro decided to keep quiet about the fact he was the man with seven scars.

Airi had been taken by the Fang clan. But eventually, Kenshiro killed the Fang King, the leader of the clan, and with help from Rei and Mamiya, Airi was saved. She had blinded herself by pouring poison into her eyes.

However, Kenshiro was able to restore her sight by pressing some of her pressure points. Later on, Kenshiro revealed to Rei that he was the man with seven scars. But Rei told Ken that even if he said he was the one who took Airi away, he wouldn't believe him.

Bat says usually the story ends happily ever after, but in their case... Lin knows he's talking about that phony guy with seven scars, who took Airi. Bat says that was when the North Star divine fist's new tragedy began, but he tells Lin that Ken will come back. He's got to get his buggy fixed before then, and tells Lin he'll see her later. Lin thinks about Jagi, the man who impersonated Kenshiro. Jagi would frequently tell his victims to say his name.

Lin thinks how Jagi used Ken's name, and even gave himself seven scars. He brought suffering to innocent people. Jagi's hatred of Kenshiro was because Kenshiro was the one who disfigured his face, forcing him to wear a plate on it to keep it from exploding. Kenshiro found Jagi, and defeated him.

But just before he died, Jagi told Kenshiro that his other two brothers were still alive. Bat tries to start his buggy, but it won't fire up. He thinks that whilst Jagi was dead, Kenshiro still has two more brothers. One of them, Toki, was with Kenshiro and Yuria when the nuclear war began. The shelter door wouldn't shut, so Toki pushed Kenshiro and Yuria inside.

He then closed the door, saving Kenshiro and Yuria. Toki survived, but was taken away. Thanks to Mamiya, Kenshiro and Rei eventually found out where Toki was now. Bat says it was thanks to Mamiya that they found out Toki was being held in Cassandra prison.

Cassandra is a fearsome jail, where the Fist King imprisoned many warriors and martial artists who survived the nuclear war, in order to increase his power. It's said that the weeping and wails of those suffering there sound like devils crying. Lin wonders what this Fist King is like, whilst Bat thinks about the Fist King and Toki.

Kenshiro, Rei and Mamiya have gone to Cassandra to save Toki. There is a legend that the prison is indestructible. When Kenshiro's group arrived there, they were confronted by Raiga and Fuuga, who were the strongest warriors of Cassandra. Kenshiro was able to defeat them, but did not kill them. He sensed more sadness in them than hostility. Raiga and Fuuga think Kenshiro is the savior they'd been waiting for.

The two forced open Cassandra's gates, and Kenshiro said to keep them open -they'll never be closed again. Kenshiro soon found himself fighting Uighur, the prison's warden. He defeated Uighur, and the prisoners were freed.

Lin starts drawing something in the ground, and tells Pel this is for good luck. Bat finally managed to start his buggy up, and is overjoyed. It turns out that Lin is drawing a picture of Ken's face.

At Cassandra, two guards watch the prisoners celebrate their freedom. One says that Cassandra's legend has fallen, and another says they don't have to follow the Fist King anymore. They want to fight alongside that savior, but one of them suddenly gets sliced in half. The other one dies seconds later.

Their bodies are thrown down to the ground. The prisoners look up, and see some new men have arrived: Ken-Oh's royal guard.

The legend of Cassandra has fallen! But the ruler of the century's end, the Fist King, has already extended his power!

Kenshiro and Toki... what destiny awaits for these great stars? And who exactly is the Fist King? Just when will the long, 2,000 year battle of destiny end for the North Star divine fist?
