Instead, I Shall Reject Love! For I Bear
the Cursed Star of Death!!

At Mamiya's village, Rei asks Kenshiro about Toki. He wants to know what kind of man Toki is. Kenshiro shocks everyone by saying that originally, Toki was to be the successor to the North Star divine fist. He then says that the accuracy, flow and speed of Toki's techniques were all flawless -even Jagi acknowledged this. But then, on that day...

...the nuclear war happened. Toki, Kenshiro and Yuria are running towards a shelter, but when they arrive, many people are already inside it. And many children are lost outside.

Kenshiro and Toki find the missing kids, but they then hear another one. Toki runs off to find them, whilst Kenshiro goes back to Yuria.

The entire shelter than shakes, as more explosions above lay waste to a city. Toki comes back, only to find that the shelter door has jammed. Someone inside the shelter says the door is impossible to close from the inside, they need a strong force from the outside to close it.

The fallout is rapidly approaching, so Toki suddenly pushes Kenshiro and Yuria inside. Kenshiro tells him to wait...

...but he can't stop Toki from closing the shelter doors. Kenshiro tries to re-open them, but Yuria stops him.

Someone says that if he opens the door now, the fallout will kill everyone. Outside, the fallout hits Toki, and there's nothing Kenshiro can do about it.

Two weeks later, Kenshiro re-opens the door. He and Yuria check on Toki, and amazingly, he's still alive -but his hair color has changed. What he did was for Kenshiro and Yuria, and he gave up being the successor to the North Star divine fist.

"Kenshiro... from now on, I will live to save the lives of others. I'll eventually die as well... I wonder how many lives I can save before then? The lives that I save will be the proof that I lived. "

Back in the present, Rei tells Kenshiro that he wants to meet Toki too. Lin thinks Toki is a kind person, but Bat points out that they don't know where he is. He thinks that perhaps this Fist King guy caught him. Lin wants Kenshiro to go and save Toki. As Kenshiro nods, Mamiya decides to look into things herself.

She heads out on her bike, and talks to many villagers regarding Toki's whereabouts. Some are helpful, but there are also some troublemakers.

One guy asks her if she's got any food, but if she hasn't, he'll take her instead. She ignores him, and when he tries to make a move, she promptly slaps him out of the way. When two more guys try to go for her, she takes them out with her yoyos.

She enters a bar, and enters a room in the back. There, she meets with an old fortune teller, who tells her to take her helmet off. Mamiya does so, and also puts down a bag of food on the table. Mamiya tells the fortune teller that she's heard she knows where Toki is.

The fortune teller says she does, but wants to read her fortune first. Mamiya says she's not here for that, but the fortune teller says she will be her last customer. She then says that she's going to die today -according to the stars, that's her fate. She then tells Mamiya that foul stars are drawing in around her, and the destiny that awaits her is death. But whether she follows or goes against her fate... either way, it's her destiny set by the stars, and it's absolutely unavoidable.

She tells Mamiya that she must carve out her destiny with her own hands. She then tells her about Toki -he was taken away from the Village of Miracles, and is now being held in Cassandra, the place where devils cry. She tells Mamiya to leave, as the demons are already close. In the bar, a group of men enter.

Mamiya leaves through a back exit, but before she goes, she asks the fortune teller what she's going to do. The fortune teller says she'll follow her own destiny, as a survivor from the Village of Miracles, she's been waiting for a time when she could help Lord Toki. Mamiya leaves, and moments later, the gang confront the fortune teller. She tells them that she's closed, and when they ask her about Mamiya, she pretends not to understand.

The gang leader curses her out, and then kills her. The gang then head back out, and start searching for Mamiya. But Mamiya has already took off on her bike, and thinks about what the fortune teller told her about her destiny.

She rides on for a while, but then hears a church bell ringing. She stops and finds an old man waiting outside the church, who says two young people were just here, talking about having a wedding. Mamiya goes inside the church, and sees that a man and a woman have gotten married.

She takes her helmet off, and thinks about Ken. Elsewhere, Ken asks Rei where he's taking him. Rei tells him he'll see when they get there, and then explains that Mamiya left the village, to try and find Toki. Ken seems surprised, but Rei tells him that she did it for him. She's going to meet up with them in the town they're heading towards. He thinks Mamiya is a passionate woman.

Back in the church, Mamiya wishes the newly-weds happiness, and then leaves. But once she gets outside, a gang appear.

They quickly surround her, and know that she has been asking around for where Toki was. Mamiya asks if they want something from her, so the gang leader says that anyone who asks about Toki, or goes looking for him... they're under orders to kill them. He jumps down, so Mamiya throws her helmet at him.

It shatters on his head, and Mamiya tries to attack him with a knife, but he dodges it. He then grabs her, and says he'll break her bones. He wants to know who sent her. Mamiya doesn't talk, but he wonders who much longer she'll be able to take this.

The rest of the gang encourage their leader to break her. But as they stand their distracted, they fail to notice that Kenshiro and Rei have arrived. Many of the gang are instantly killed.

More of the gang try to attack them, but don't fair any better.

The gang leader realizes one of these guys must be Kenshiro, and Kenshiro says that's right. The gang leader threatens to kill Mamiya if they don't stay back. Kenshiro tells him to do it -he'll be dead in the next instant. Mamiya tells Ken that Toki is being held in a place called Cassandra, and then says her job is done. She tells the gang leader to go ahead and kill her, as she's said all she needed to say. Kenshiro then starts to walk forward, and the rest of the gang run away.

He gets right up the gang leader, and strikes a pressure point on his face. He tells him that he's going to put him to sleep for a few hours, and when he wakes up, he should go and tells his boss that he's coming to meet him. The gang leader warns him that there's no way he can beat the warden. Kenshiro tells him to tell the warden this: there's no one in this world who's stronger than him.

Kenshiro then strikes the pressure point, and the gang leader collapses. In doing so, he drops Mamiya, who Kenshiro helps back up. He has one thing to say to her:

"Go back."

Mamiya asks why, and Kenshiro says that this is his business. Mamiya is about to follow him, but is stopped by Rei. Rei tells her that as long as Yuria is in Ken's heart, no one can open him up.

Mamiya says she understands, but she just wanted to ease the burden of his destiny, and his suffering as much as she can. Rei asks her if she wants to die, but she smiles and then runs after Kenshiro. Rei goes to the top of the church, and says here's to a love which can never be realized.

He leans on the bell, causing it to ring out. Mamiya continues following Kenshiro. Several hours later...

...the gang leader wakes up, and is overjoyed to find that he's still alive. He heads back to Cassandra.

In Cassandra, the warden, Uighur, says he can hear the demons crying. He also reveals that he is holding a blood-soaked whip.

The gang leader runs in, shouting that Kenshiro has appeared, and is heading this way. He then notices the pile of dead bodies in the room, and realizes that they are his own men. Uighur then towers over him, and asks him why he ran. The gang leader tries to explain that he came back here to report, but Uighur whips him several times, slicing him apart.

"Kenshiro, if you're coming, then come. Hear the cries of Cassandra's spirits... they will become your funeral song."

"Hahahahahahaha...."
