Silver Chariot and Strength
As the plane heads to Egypt, Avdol asks Joseph if he's alright. Joseph says that he just doesn't feel that comfortable being in an airplane. Avdol says they must confront Dio within 50 days. Suddenly, one of the plane's engines explodes!
Kakyoin says the left engine is on fire. Joseph goes up to the cockpit, and the pilots says they've lost control. The plane begins to descend, and hits the ocean.
Everybody survives, and the group board a small life raft. Joseph says many ships travel back and forth through this area, and he's certain one of them will hear their distress signal and come to their rescue. Jotaro says he hopes so, and Kakyoin says they can't waste their time in a place like this. Avdol wonders if it was the enemy who attacked their plane.
They then see a ship heading towards them. One of the pilots fires a flare, revealing that the ship is quite large, and has a name: Strength. Joseph says they can continue now.
Avdol sees that the ramp has been lowered, yet nobody from the ship can be seen. The group board the ship, but it appears to be deserted.
Kakyoin thinks this is just like what happened to the Mary Celeste. Avdol calls out and asks if anyone is there, but gets no response. Joseph says they should investigate the ship, so the group splits up and starts looking around.
Jotaro and Joseph head to the bridge. Jotaro asks Joseph what's wrong, and he points to the window -how could anyone have seen them through a window this dirty? Avdol and one of the pilots head down to the engine room, but there's nobody there either.
The group continue to explore, but hear a noise coming from a room. They enter it and find an orangutan inside a cage.
The orangutan, Forever, points to the lock on his cage. Joseph thinks he must want them to open it, but then Forever starts reading a magazine.
One of the pilots thinks Forever is pretty intelligent for a monkey, but Kakyoin warns him to be careful -orangutans have 5 times the strength of a human, and could easily rip his arm off. Jotaro thinks there must be someone around to feed the orangutan, so Joseph says they'll have to find his owner.
The engines suddenly turn on, and the lights to the ship activate. The group heads back to the deck of the ship, and see that there is someone on the bridge.
They head back to the bridge, but by the time they get to it, there's nobody there. The ship's systems start to turn off again. Everyone returns to the deck, and wonders what they should do next. Joseph says they don't even know where they are sailing to, but they then hear some music playing inside the ship.
They head back into the ship, and head towards the source of the music. They enter a room, and find a single man at a table. The man turns on the lights, and welcomes Mr. Joestar's group.
Kakyoin seems to recognize him, but Joseph asks him how he knows about them. The man says that someone with a star shaped birthmark told him. Something then bursts out of a bowl...
...as a Stand appears, and pierces through Joseph's hand with its rapier. Avdol has Magician's Red send out a blast of flame...
...but the Stand uses its rapier to put the flames out. The man says that his Stand's name is Silver Chariot, and this must mean that Avdol wants to die. He deflects the flames to hit a table.
He says he's made a clock out of the fire, and before it burns to 12 o'clock, he'll kill him. Avdol is impressed with his swordplay, but thinks the man from France is being vain about killing him. The man says his greeting is overdue, and introduces himself: he's Jean Pierre Polnareff.
Avdol thanks him for the introduction, but then his Stand burn away the table. He tells Polnareff not to think of his fire as a natural flame. It can control fire at will, which is why it is called Magician's Red.
Polnareff throws some coins up, and has Silver Chariot stab through them all. He asks if Avdol can call his swordplay vain after seeing this. Joseph is amazed that Polnareff was able to pierce all five coins with a single thrust.
Polnareff says his Stand can cut fire with total control, which means that Avdol is practically powerless against him. He suddenly gets right behind the group, and says he could kill Avdol right here. But he knows that a more open space would allow Avdol to use his abilities at full power. Beating him at a place like that would be a more suitable victory.
He leads them to a large platform. Avdol says he'll handle this himself, as he can more freely use his Stand here. Polnareff says he has a prediction: Avdol will destroy himself with his own Stand. As the fight begins, Polnareff says that if Avdol isn't going to breathe fire, then he'll attack.
Silver Chariot rapidly makes many thrusts towards Magician's Red. Magician's Red counters with a blast of fire, but Silver Chariot swats it aside.
The fire hits the floor, creating an outline of Magician's Red. Joseph thinks Polnareff was waiting for Magician's Red to breathe fire. Avdol goes into a stance...
...and has his Stand use a technique called the cross fire hurricane. Polnareff asks if this is all the power Avdol has, and has his Stand reflect the fire back onto Magician's Red.
As Avdol falls, Polnareff says it's just as he said. But Avdol sends out another fire blast, and Polnareff thinks he must be getting desperate. As Silver Chariot tries to cut through it, Polnareff realizes this fire is much stronger than before. Part of the floor gets cut open from his Stand's attack.
Magician's Red performs the cross fire again, and it hits Polnareff, knocking him back. Joseph thinks Silver Chariot has melted, whilst Jotaro thinks that Polnareff will be lucky -or unlucky -to only be severely injured. Avdol says Polnareff won't be able to stand up again for several months now.
Avdol wants to talk about how they're going to get to Egypt, but then Polnareff's body seemingly explodes. He seems to be floating above them, and he tells them bravo. Joseph wonders how he can just be floating there.
He tells them to look closely with their Stand's eyes, and they see that Silver Chariot is holding him up. Polnareff returns to the floor, and says this is Silver Chariot without his armor. Avdol asks him if he'd mind explaining what just happened.
Polnareff says that the explosion earlier wasn't his Stand being blown to pieces, but rather the impact of him removing his armor. Only the armor was burned by Avdol's flames, so he only suffered minor injuries. And now, with the armor gone, he can move even faster. Avdol asks him if he's saying that, because of the weight of the armor, he couldn't avoid his cross fire hurricane? Polnareff says that's right. Avdol says this must mean that without the armor, if he gets struck by the cross fire hurricane again, he won't survive.
Polnareff says that's right, but it's impossible for him to be hit again. He shows them why, as Silver Chariot appears to clone itself! Polnareff says these afterimages not only affect the visual senses, but the physical ones as well. He sends forward his Stands, which start attacking. Avdol has Magician's Red destroy one of them, but it was just an afterimage.
Avdol's face gets cut. But he says he has a variation of his cross fire hurricane. Usually, the ankh-shaped fire forms a single flame, but he has a way of splitting it up and throwing it out as many. He has Magician's Red prepare to use this technique, but Polnareff has his Stands surround himself.
Joseph says this isn't good, as Polnareff's Stands have formed a circle. Kakyoin thinks the same thing is going to happen again -Avdol's flames will be struck back. Polnareff sends his Stands out to deal with the flames, but as they go, a blast of flame suddenly bursts out of the ground in front of him.
Polnareff and his Stands are struck, and knocked back. Kakyoin says that Avdol made use of that hole which Polnareff made earlier on in the battle. With Polnareff down, Avdol throws him a knife, and says that burning to death must be painful. He tells Polnareff to use the blade to end his own life.
Polnareff picks up the knife, but then drops it. He says he was vain, thinking his swordplay could never be beaten by mere flames. He's chosen to burn to death gracefully instead, and tells Avdol to consider this a salute to his ability from the one who lost the battle. Avdol turns around and gets rid of the flames.
He thinks that Polnareff's proud spirit goes beyond Dio's orders, and he's a man who remains true to the code of honor you'd call "chivalry". Joseph thinks if they let Polnareff die like this, they may regret it later, and there may be a good reason that he became one of Dio's assassins. The pilots then walk into the room, and Joseph says they've defeated the enemy. One of the pilots says they had him worried for a while, but he is then killed when a hook pierces through his head!
The other pilot suddenly dies when a projectile smashes through his head. Everyone ducks as projectiles are launched at them, but Star Platinum catches one: it's just a bolt. Forever then appears on of a wall, and Jotaro thinks this orangutan must be a Stand user.
Joseph calls out to Jotaro. Jotaro turns around, and sees everyone else is sinking through the floor. Joseph says that the entire Ship must be Forever's Stand. Forever tries to attack Jotaro next, but Star Platinum smashes the pipe apart.
Jotaro tries to attack Forever, but Forever uses his Stand to get in Star Platinum's way. He starts to pile lots of different pieces of wall over Jotaro, encasing him inside them. Forever takes a closer look, but then gets hit by Star Platinum's star finger technique.
Star Platinum starts to punch his way out, so Forever tries to crush him. But he never gets the chance to do it, as he then gets split in half! Silver Chariot is the one who did it.
The entire ship then starts to melt away, revealing what it really is: a very small boat. Jotaro's group board it, although Joseph wonders if it'll break down before it reaches dry land first.
Kakyoin can't quite believe how small this Stand really is, and Joseph says if they'd known this would happen, they could have tried to tame that monkey. As Polnareff stares out to sea, Kakyoin thinks he's quite something to be up again after taking so much damage earlier. Avdol thinks Polnareff must have something he has to accomplish. Polnareff then asks Joseph why he always has his gloves on, and asks him if his left hand is a right hand. Joseph thinks that's a strange question to ask, but Polnareff says he's been looking for a man who has two right hands.
Joseph removes his glove, revealing his prosthetic hand. He says this was a wound he received in battle 50 years ago. Avdol asks what this is all about, and Polnareff says he is looking for the man who killed his younger sister... it happened three years ago...
His sister had been walking home from school with a classmate. But her classmate was suddenly decapitated, and a man with two right hands approached her...
Polnareff says he doesn't know the man's face, he just knows that he has two right hands. He also knows that he has a Stand. He made a vow that, for the dignity of his sister's soul, he'll make the killer atone with his death. But one year ago, he met Dio. Dio told Polnareff he could see the man he was looking for, and said that if he helped him, he would return the favor.
Polnareff says Dio ordered him to kill them all. Whilst he knew he was talking to a devil, he made the deal to get the information he needed to avenge his sister. Joseph says Dio is good at taking advantage of someone's weakness. Avdol thinks Dio must have already known who the man who killed Polnareff's sister was, and asks Polnareff what he'll do now. Polnareff says he'll go with them, as if he goes after Dio, he might meet the man who killed his sister. Joseph says whilst their goals may be different, they're all heading to the same destination.
Polnareff says it's decided -they'll all hurry and get to Egypt! He wants to have some fun, and Egyptian women are very mysterious, which is what makes them so appealing! Avdol thought Polnareff was a man filled with chivalry, but now he's not so sure. Kakyoin thinks Polnareff's mood can certainly change in a hurry. Joseph thinks Polnareff's mind and instincts seem to be completely independent.
In Egypt, Enya looks at the card of Strength, and calls it useless. She drops it and looks at the Chariot card, and says that Polnareff betrayed them. Dio appears, and she tells him not to let this trouble him. Jotaro's group are no match for his power, but regardless, the Emperor and the Hanged Man are already on their way to India. She is sure that the Hanged Man's right hands will take care of them for sure -as the Hanged Man's user is her own son, J Geil!
