Hierophant Green

Dio thinks that if he hadn't of taken Jonathan Joestar's body, he couldn't have survived for 100 long years. But this body seems to be linked to Jonathan's descendants. Enya asks him what he is concerned about, and Dio says it's the Joestar's bloodline. Jonathan's descendants suspect his existence, and the new power he has from this body... a Stand.

But this Stand is even affecting the bodies of Jonathan's descendants. Enya says strength and weakness are two sides of the same coin, and nothing ever goes the way one wants it to. But she tells Lord Dio to feel reassured, and she raises her hand. She says that the necessary actions have been taken.

At the Kujo residence, Joseph is searching for Holy. He finds her crouched down, but she gets up and says she's fine, she just hasn't been getting enough sleep lately. Joseph asks her if she's sure nothing is wrong, but she says she's fine. Joseph says that they should be getting a response from the Speedwagon Foundation, but he doesn't know where the fax machine is. Holy says she'll check it and bring any faxes over to him later. Joseph asks where Jotaro is, and Holy says he's gone to school.

As JoJo walks to school, he's followed by several girls. One of them asks why he hasn't come to school for four days, but another immediately pushes her off, asking why she's rubbing against Jotaro's arm. As they start insulting each other, Jotaro continues walking.

He sees someone at the bottom of the steps below, but as he starts to walk down, something cuts his leg, causing him to fall.

He has his Stand grab a branch to slow his fall. As he lands, he looks at his knee wound and wonders what caused it. He thinks that guy he saw could have something to do with it, and sees him walk off into the forest.

Jotaro runs after him, but he seems to have vanished. One of the girls follows Jotaro, but as she runs, something follows her. She finds Jotaro, and says she went back to get a bandage.

She passes this to Jotaro, and he puts it on. But as he's doing this, the girl suddenly attacks him!

She's clearly not herself, and Jotaro struggles to keep her off of him. He asks how a girl could be this strong, but the guy from earlier appears. He says that the girl has been possessed by his Stand. He then says that his name is Noriaki Kakyoin, and his Stand's name is Hierophant Green. He's pledged his loyalty to Lord Dio.

The girl manages to stab a pen into Jotaro's face, but Jotaro sees that, in the girl's mouth is a Stand. Kakyoin warns Jotaro that if he tries harming his Stand, it'll end up injuring the girl.

Jotaro suddenly pushes forward and seems to kiss the girl, but in reality he uses his Stand to pull out Hierophant Green. He rips the Stand completely out of the girl's mouth.

Jotaro's Stand completely drags Hierophant Green out. Jotaro says that now he's dragged it out, he sees that it's an ugly Stand. He tells Kakyoin that he's going to choke him a little bit more, then he'll take him to Joseph and have him talk about Dio. Kakyoin says he'll make him regret dragging his Stand out.

Hierophant Green suddenly starts to unravel, and its tentacles start to attack Jotaro. Jotaro summons his Stand to protect himself, and Kakyoin is surprised Jotaro was able to raise his guard before Hierophant Green could strike. He says his Stand hates to be out in the open, so it always tends to lurk behind something. Jotaro has made his Stand angry by dragging him out.

Kakyoin says his Stand is capable of more, and tells Jotaro to take this: the emerald splash! Hierophant Green throws out many projectiles, which hit Jotaro's stand.

This causes Jotaro to be knocked back, and he smashes through some trees. Kakyoin walks up to him and says that what looked like the bodily fluids of Hierophant Green were actually visions of destructive energy. Jotaro gets up, and Kakyoin asks him what he thinks he can do now, as he's just standing up to get knocked back down again. Jotaro says that people brand him as a delinquent, so he's always beating up guys who challenge him, even when they're teachers. But even he can sense a disgusting evil! An evil is someone who takes advantage of the weak, and abuses them for his own sake!

Kakyoin thinks he must be talking about the girl, but he thinks that you should let the vanquished be the evil, whilst the victor be the just -how you get there is unimportant. He has Hierophant Green use the emerald splash technique again, but Jotaro has his Stand reflect it.

The projectiles blow apart the forest around Kakyoin, and Jotaro gets right in his face. He has his Stand pick up Hierophant Green...

...and starts punching it repeatedly. Kakyoin is sent flying, and is defeated. He thinks that Jotaro's Stand is a powerful one.

The girl gets up, wondering what happened. Jotaro just wants to be given a break. He takes Kakyoin back to his home, but Joseph says this is bad: Kakyoin isn't going to make it. Jotaro asks why, but Joseph tells him it's not his fault.

He says the reason Kakyoin pledged his loyalty to Dio is this. He shows that Kakyoin has some kind of bug on on his forehead. Avdol says that it's a flesh bud, created from Dio's cells. He starts to tell a story that happened four months ago, in Egypt, where he met Dio...

On his way home from his shop, Avdol saw Dio waiting for him. Joseph had already told him about Dio, so he knew who it was straight away. Dio said that he's heard Avdol had an ability ordinary people don't have, and wanted to see it. Avdol then felt fear, as somehow the calm way Dio talked made him more terrifying.

Dio's hair extended, as many flesh buds appeared at the tips of the strands. But Avdol ran, with no thought of fighting him.

Back in the present, Avdol says that if he hadn't of ran, a flesh bud would have implanted him, and he would have pledged his loyalty to Dio. And the flesh bud would have consumed his brain in a few years, killing him. Jotaro says that Kakyoin isn't dead yet, and sends out his Stand. Joseph warns that the flesh bud will invade the brain of anyone who tries to remove it. But Jotaro says he'll pull the flesh bud out without damaging his brain. The Stand touches the flesh bud, and as soon as it does, a tendril from the flesh bud pulls itself out of Kakyoin's head...

...and pierces into Jotaro's hand. As it moves up his arm, Jotaro suddenly sees visions, showing Jonathan Joestar at his mansion. The place is on fire, but Jotaro then sees Jonathan tackle Dio off the roof.

Dio falls onto a pole, and it pieces through his body. Dio curses JoJo's name, but then Jotaro sees Dio's head burst out of a canister.

As the visions end, Avdol asks Jotaro what's wrong. Kakyoin suddenly wakes up, but Jotaro tells him not to move. If he screws this up, his brain is history. The tendril makes its way up the side of Jotaro's face.

Avdol thinks this is too dangerous, but Joseph tells him to wait. He thinks they should have faith in Jotaro. As they watch, he says that Jotaro's Stand is more precise with its movements than a machine. The Stand pulls the flesh bud off of Kakyoin's head...

...and removes it, causing the tendrils in Jotaro to be pulled out as well. It throws the flesh bud aside, and Avdol has Magician's Red destroy it.

Kakyoin asks Jotaro why he risked his own life to save him. Jotaro says that now that he thinks about it, he wish he knew himself. The group then hear something breaking nearby.

They head to the kitchen, and find that Holy has collapsed. Joseph says that his greatest fear has come to pass. Jotaro asks what he means, and Joseph says he thought it was strange that because of Dio, Stand abilities appeared in himself and Jotaro, but not Holy.

But he shows that Holy seems to have a plant growing out of her back. Avdol says that a Stand is essentially called forth by one's spiritual strength, and put into action by fighting instincts. But Holy's quiet and gentle nature couldn't control a Stand, and is now even doing her harm. Joseph says they've been worried that she didn't have the power to battle Dio's spell. Avdol says that he has known of people who have died because of the damage caused by their own Stands. But there is still hope for Holy. Jotaro asks what needs to be done, and Joseph says there's only one way: defeat Dio, and break the spell. But they don't know where Dio is.

Kakyoin appears, and looks at the drawing of the fly Jotaro's Stand made. He says this fly inhabits the Nile River regions of Egypt, and it's known as the Aswan tsetse fly. They realize that Dio has been in Egypt all this time, and must be in the Aswan region. Kakyoin says that three months ago, he and his family were traveling in Egypt, which is where he met Dio.

He says that Dio's very existence terrified him, but he'll never go through that misery again. He says he's going to Egypt with them, but Jotaro asks why. Kakyoin says that now that he thinks about it, he wish he knew himself. Thanks to him, he was able to come to his senses. Joseph promises Holy that he will save her.

Sometime later, the group are about to board a small jet. Joseph says that they'll never know when the enemy could attack, so they're taking the Speedwagon Foundation's private jet, as to not involve any innocent people. Avdol says that before they leave, he'll give Jotaro's Stand a name. He asks him to draw a card from this deck.

Jotaro does so, and Avdol says it's the Star card. He says he'll give the Stand the name of Star Platinum. What this card implies shall be revealed through the journey that they are about to begin. As the group board the plane, they are unaware that a man has been watching them from a nearby hangar...

In Egypt, Dio realizes his enemies have figured out his whereabouts. He tells Enya that they're coming here to Egypt...
