Kenshiro starts to think about Shuu. Shuu...he was a man who lived for hopes of the future, and was a hero of the resistance. He led his army against Souther, the Holy Emperor.

Remember when Shuu first appeared? Yes. He had a fight with Kenshiro and lost, but it turned out he was a good guy all along.

Shuu's real enemy was Souther, the Holy Emperor, who was building a huge pyramid. Anyway, Shuu had fought Kenshiro before and won. He ended up blinding himself though. Yes.

After finding out about how evil this Souther was, Kenshiro eventually fought him. But it seemed that even Hokuto Shinken was useless against this opponent! Souther had his pressure points hit, but he didn't die and beat Kenshiro. However, Kenshiro was saved by Shuu's son, Shiba.

The sacrifice was great though as Shiba had to kill himself to allow Kenshiro to live on. Yes. Later, Shuu attempt to kill Souther, but as he tried to fight his opponent he was put into a horrible situation: if he killed Souther, lots of women and children nearby would be slaughtered. Shuu was not able to kill Souther because of this and was hit by him with a move that cut deeply into Shuu's legs. Yes.

Souther still had plans though -Shuu had to carry the final piece of his Holy Cross Mausoleum up to the top by himself, whilst his legs were still bleeding. If he dropped it, Souther would kill all of the children being forced to watch. As Shuu made it to the top, Kenshiro appeared, having recovered from his injures received from his first battle with Souther.

Shuu made it to the top of the pyramid and said that the successor to Hokuto Shinken would destroy the mausoleum and Souther in the end. Not liking his words, Souther had his troops fire arrows at Shuu, before he threw a spear at him.

The spear was the finishing strike, but something incredible happened: Shuu could see once more! He has been granted his wish of being able to see Kenshiro as a grown man, and told him to go and change the chaotic world they live in, he will always be watching from the heavens. He then says that his wife and Shiba are waiting for him...

...before he passed away, placing the last piece of the mausoleum when he fell. Yes. Back in the present, Kenshiro thinks about how Shuu was destined to be the star of benevolence and how he would avenge him.
