Synopsis
Sensui holds Yusuke at gunpoint. Inside Itsuki's Reverse Man, Kuwabara is about to attack Itsuki, but Hiei stops him, as Kurama reminds him that if Itsuki dies, they will be trapped here. Yusuke is about to fire his spirit gun, but Sensui notices it at the last moment, and kicks him in the head.
Yusuke's blast misses Sensui, and hits part of the cave. Outside, everyone hears a rumbling side from within the cave, and Genkai says that it was Yusuke's spirit gun that caused it. However Sensui's spirit energy hasn't gone down, so Yusuke must have missed. Koenma tells Sensui he'll put a stop to his schemes, but Sensui tells him he doesn't even know who he's talking to. He explains he is Kazuya, one of the seven personalities inside Sensui, but this plan is something all seven of them decided on. Kurama realizes that when they heard inside Sensui's mind before, "we'll dig a grave for all people. The seven of us will dig the hole", was actually referring to Sensui himself.
Itsuki says the events Sensui witnessed led to him developed these multiple personalities, such as Kazuya, Minoru and Naru. Koenma asks to speak to Shinobi, but Kazuya tells him Shinobi doesn't want to speak to him. Koenma knows Shinobu can still hear him, and tells him it's not too late to end this. He removes his pacifier, which is actually a makufan (demon seal ring). Koenma has been discharging his own spirit energy into it for many years, and it is capable of creating a powerful boundary zone, which is strong enough to stop even S class demons. Koenma had intended to use it several hundred years from now, in order to suppress the age of darkness that will befall the Human Realm. But if he has to use it now, he will. Sensui discusses with himself over what to do.
His personalities all come to an agreement: kill Koenma! Koenma is about to use the demon seal ring, however Yusuke stops him. Not happy he interrupted their fight, he takes the ring and punches Koenma when he tries to take it back. He then tells Sensui that he now feels the same way he does about not caring about the tunnel to the Demon Realm. He just wants to settle this fight. He tells him to get the personality back out he was facing earlier. Kazuya refuses.
In response, Yusuke moves in and hits him with several punches. Sensui gets back up, and his personality has changed to that of Shinobu. He says it's a pleasure to meet him, and offers him a handshake. Yusuke tries to attack him, but Sensui throws him and then stomps on him. Yusuke tries to attack again, but Sensui evades his punch. Mitarai says he's never seen Sensui like this, and Kurama says that this Sensui is a step or two removed from the others they've seen up to now. Itsuki tells them that when Shinobu appears, Sensui's menace, composure and sense of awe all come together.
Yusuke watches at Itsuki tends to Sensui, changing his arm back to normal and giving him a new shirt. He thinks that from the moment he first saw him, he felt that eeriness of his. He still believes that Sensui has some other hidden tricks he hasn't shown yet. But now, finally, he's about to reveal everything. Sensui asks him if he has any strength left to fight with, and Yusuke says he does. Right now, there's nothing else he's thinking about other than defeating him. Sensui is amused that Yusuke thinks he can defeat him, and starts to laugh. His eyes glow, and the entire cave shakes, causing the ground to crack. As he continues laughing, his entire body starts to glow with a golden light.
-In the manga, whilst Yusuke charges up his spirit gun, he never fires it, unlike in the anime.
-The scene with Genkai's group in this episode isn't in the manga.
-The part where Kuwabara attempts to attack Itsuki, only to be stopped by Hiei, isn't in the manga.
-In the manga, Yusuke snatches the demon seal ring out of Koenma's hand, in the anime, he strikes his arm, causing him to drop it. Yusuke then catches it.
-In the manga, Koenma chases Yusuke around, trying to get the ring back. Yusuke does stuff like putting it down his pants, and he then hits Koenma. This chase was not in the anime.
