In order to rescue Kuwabara, who had been captured by Sensui, Yusuke pursued them through a mountainous region. However, Yusuke had his means of pursuit taken from him by Hagiri, the Sniper.

Sniper: No matter where you try to run, my attacks will not miss those targets. Death crest cross spots!

Any material that is infused with Hagiri's energy, no matter what it may be, will come after the death crest cross spots!

With a load of sharp objects heading his way, Yusuke uses his shotgun technique to blow most of them to pieces. Two manage to get through, so he dodges them.

They come back, but he manages to grabs them with just his fingers. As he drops them to the ground, he thinks Sniper wants this to be a contest of endurance, as he keeps his distance. He thinks Sniper will keep making attacks like this until it wears him out. Sniper isn't that far away from him, and thinks that as long as Yusuke stays within his territory, nobody can save him.

Elsewhere, Kurama gets off the phone and says Yanagisawa and Kaito will meet them at Mushiyori station. Botan wonders if Sensui and the others really went to Irima cave, and Mitarai says they should have, as it's the place where Itsuki said the hole would soon be opened. When that happens, it's the point where they'll need Kuwabara's power. Botan wishes she'd given Yusuke the communications compact, whilst Genkai says they're all heading to the same place. They're sure to meet up with him there.

Koenma tells Botan that he's heading back to the Spirit Realm. As the tunnel between the Demon Realm and Human Realm is about to be completed, if Kuwabara is able to exhibit the ability to cut through the subspace periphery field, it will be all over. As that is a grave situation, he needs to come up with some countermeasures. He tells Botan he's leaving the rest to her, and she says she understands. Meanwhile, Sensui's group near the cave. Kuwabara tells them to kill him now, but Gourmet tells him to shut up.

Sensui says let Kuwabara shout, as if he amplifies his anger, it might just awaken his ability. Gamemaster asks Sensui if he's really sure this guy is really the one with the ability they need. Sensui says Kuwabara will use his ability for them in time. They then pull up outside the cave's entrance.

They head inside, dragging Kuwabara with them. Elsewhere, Yusuke thinks that he doesn't know how big Sniper's territory is, but Sniper himself must be someplace where he can keep watch over him. He then hears some noise nearby, so he takes cover and prepares his spirit gun.

However it turns out it was just a bird making the noise. He decides to run, thinking that in any case, he needs to get out of Sniper's territory. He makes it back onto the road.

He sees a truck heading his way, and thinks maybe he could get them to give him a lift back home... although they probably won't even stop for him, looking as he does now. As the truck gets closer, he notices something about it: nobody is driving it!

He realizes the entire truck is one of Sniper's projectiles, and starts to run. The truck is right behind him, but he jumps out of the way at the last moment. However the truck turns as well, and heads down the bank after him.

Yusuke runs through the forest, whilst the truck plows through trees after him. Sniper is watching in the distance, and feels a little drained... he thinks he may have been a bit rash putting so much of his energy into that truck. He pulls out a gun, and loads it. Meanwhile, Yusuke continues to run, and jumps out of the way again.

He knows he can't use his spirit gun against a fully loaded gasoline tanker, and watches as it comes to a stop next to him. The truck then resumes moving, forcing Yusuke to run again. As he does, he notices someone waiting at the top of a cliff in front of him.

It's Sniper, who takes aim and fires a single shot. The bullet hits the tank, causing it to explode. The entire thing goes up in a big fireball.

Back in the city, Kaito and Yana meet up with the others. Kaito has a map that Genkai asked for, and he shows them where they are now, and how far away the cave is. Yana asks who the new guy is, and Kurama says Mitarai is one of them -he'll lead them to the cave. Genkai tells everyone to brace themselves, as they don't know what's going to happen from now on.

Sniper looks at the explosion, but then senses someone behind him. He turns around and sees that Urameshi has survived, thanks to Hiei. Having never seen him before, Sniper asks Hiei who he is.

Hiei tells Yusuke it's a little too soon for him to die. Sniper takes aim at Hiei, and tells him he won't allow anyone to interfere with their objective. Hiei walks towards him, so Sniper fires. But Hiei moves out of the way of his shot.

Sniper starts firing repeatedly, but he can't hit Hiei. Hiei moves in and stabs him, much to Yusuke's surprise. Hiei tells him not to worry -he avoided anything critical.

Sniper takes aim at Yusuke and says nobody must interfere with Sensui. Hiei removes his sword, which causes Sniper to lose consciousness and fall.

Hiei tells Yusuke that the wind blows wistfully, something he finds pleasant and calming. It feels like the wind of the Demon Realm, and tells Yusuke that the cover of Hell is about to open. Over the city, they can see the effects of the tunnel so far. Yusuke punches the ground in frustration, saying it's so hard to deal with these guys.

He says they never want to fight head-on, and he didn't think they'd be so much trouble. But he then says this is no time for griping, as he has to hurry. Hiei asks him what he's in such a hurry for, so Yusuke tells him he's going to save Kuwabara, and then defeat them. Hiei moves forward...

...and goes to attack Yusuke. Yusuke dodges his strike, but Hiei moves in and has his sword pointed at Yusuke's neck. Hiei tells him that's twice he's been dead today -does he think he can defeat them like this? He calls Kuwabara an idiot for letting himself get captured, and as Yusuke curses Hiei, Hiei wonders if he should kill him for real. Yusuke's fine with that.

Hiei takes off his cloak and powers up, and the two start to fight. They start battering each other with punches...

...and Yusuke gets hit several times. He tries fighting back, but Hiei avoids his attacks and then hits him a few more times. Yusuke gets back up and goes on the offensive again, this time managing to hit Hiei.

They continue pummeling each other, until they both block each other's punches. This causes them to bounce away from each other.

Hiei licks blood off his arm and says he's relieved -it appears Yusuke's spiritual powers haven't weakened. Yusuke is angry that he provoked him just to test him. Hiei asks him how it felt, being able to run wild with everything he'd got. The guys Yusuke has faced have a strategy to suppress his powers down to a minimum, whilst using their own abilities at maximum.

Hiei puts his cloak back on and tells Yusuke that he's got to fight with a cool head -although he might be wasting his time telling him that. Yusuke laughs at him, finding it funny that Hiei, of all people, would tell him to cool his head.

Hiei thinks maybe he really will have to kill him. Yusuke then genuinely thanks him, as that fight was quite revitalizing. He asks Hiei to come with him, as they're out of time -by tomorrow, the hole will have completely opened. Hiei refuses, and walks off. He says that if the hole to the Demon Realm opens, then he can return to the Demon Realm.

Yusuke asks him if he wants the Spirit Realm's Black Chapters tape. He's heard Sensui took it from the Spirit Realm, so once he's defeated, Yusuke says he could sneak the tape over to Hiei. Hiei doubts Spirit Realm would just let him hand that tape over, but Yusuke says it's a small sacrifice to pay for a larger victory. And besides, he hasn't been ordered to get the tape back. Hiei tells him he's finally starting to act like himself again, but then senses something.

Nearby, two demons approach. They say they were beckoned by the scent of prey and one of their own, and what do they find? A human and a demon, talking together like they're on good terms. Hiei says Mushiyori City is already at the third phase, which means the place is going to start crawling with these kinds of idiots.

The two demons are offended, and one of them tells Hiei they'll start by eating him, even through he doesn't look too tasty. Hiei realizes there is one more reason for him helping Yusuke -if they do nothing, it'll mean he'll have to take on this kind of naive scum constantly, which would be truly unpleasant. The two demons attack...

...but are killed instantly. Hiei says they don't have time to be messing around with losers like them. Meanwhile, at the cave...

...Kuwabara is still being dragged along, and is still demanding they just kill him. Later on, Genkai's group are bearing the cave, when Botan points out something. In the distance, Yusuke and Hiei are heading towards them. Genkai says the whole cast is now here.

Very shortly, the tunnel between the Demon Realm and the Human Realm will open. When will Kuwabara exhibit his ability to cut through the periphery field? Will Yusuke and the others be able to rescue Kuwabara before then? Indeed, a storm of terrible intensity is about to break!

As we entered the cave that we chased Sensui to, all that was waiting for us was a strange game machine and a little kid. What's going on? That Sensui bastard isn't anywhere around, is he? Huh?
