Synopsis
Shizuru, Keiko and Puu retreat from the insects following them, and enter an elevator. However one bug manages to infect Keiko with the virus. In the corridor, Yusuke resumes his fight with Kamiya, realizing he will have to kill him to stop him. Meanwhile, the elevator gets up to Genkai's floor. Genkai enters it and tells Shizuru the situation, and tells her to stay in there for now, whilst she goes to Yusuke and the others.
Outside, Kurama's group arrive, but wonder why things are so quiet. Kurama decides to check things out himself, and uses his rose whip to get to the roof, where he immediately realizes he's entered somebody's territory. Back in the corridor, Yusuke is about to fire his spirit gun, but has to stop himself when a nurse stumbles out. Kamiya takes her hostage and threatens to kill her.
The bugs manage to get into the elevator, but as Shizuru opens the doors, she is saved by Kurama, who kills all of the bugs with his rose whip. Yusuke tries explaining to Kamiya what will happen if demons are allowed to enter then Human Realm, but Kamiya doesn't care -he likes the idea of being killed by one, as he doesn't want to die from disease or old age. The nurse then splashes him in the face with some acid, revealing herself to actually be Yana in disguise. Kamiya slashes him, but as he attempts to flee, Genkai cuts him off.
Realizing he's trapped, he pulls out a case of serum and says it'll cure anyone infected with his virus. However his true plan is to attack Yusuke when he gives him the case. But before he can do it, Murota appears and yells what Kamiya's true intentions are, and his vials of serum contain nothing but glucose. Kamiya goes to attack Yusuke, but is easily overpowered, and sent crashing through a window.
Everyone in the hospital returns to normal, and Yusuke regretfully realizes he's killed Kamiya, although he had no choice. However, Genkai revives Kamiya, by hitting his heart and getting him breathing again. Kuwabara's group, along with Kurama, Shizuru, Keiko and Puu all unite, and most of them quickly leave before the police arrive -although Kaito stays behind to make sure Kido is looked after. Later on, Kamiya is questioned by the police. He tells them of his hatred of humanity, and thinks to himself that all their lives have been extended by just the slightest amount.
-In the manga, Yusuke does not attempt to use his spirit gun again like he does in the anime.
-Because of the above, Kamiya does not run off from Yusuke either, to avoid being shot. The nurse/Yana appears behind him, and he takes her hostage. In the anime, the nurse/Yana appears behind him, so he turns around and goes back.
-In the manga, Shizuru, Keiko and Puu never go to the hospital, so all the scenes they're in in this episode don't happen in the manga.
-In the manga, Kurama's group never go to the hospital either.
-The short scene with Sensui, Sniper and Seaman in this episode isn't in the manga.
-The two inspectors have dialogue in the manga, telling him what he's being charged with and questioning why he attacked the hospital. Their lines were cut from the anime.
-During this shot, Kamiya's left arm overlaps the nurse's head.
