Synopsis
On Kubikukuri Island, elder Toguro has survived, and sees someone coming towards him. At the Spirit Realm, Koenma receives reports of unusual activities taking place in the Human Realm, and tells Botan to let Yusuke know. On Earth, Yusuke, Kuwabara and Keiko head to school, where a couple of guys observe them.
At Kurama's school, Kurama happens to notice a Makai insect on someone. He grabs it and kills it before it can do anything, but it makes him wonder what is going on. At Yusuke's school, Botan arrives, but Yusuke really isn't interested in a new case, and suggests she tells Kuwabara about it. Takenaka then asks who Botan is, forcing her to quickly leave. She tells Yusuke she'll come back after school and speak to him then. Yusuke gets through the school day, although he feels very sluggish. As he leaves, Keiko comes over and passes Puu to him. He doesn't want to be seen with Puu, but Keiko ties Puu to his bag.
As Yusuke and Kuwabara leave, they are met by three guys, who want to speak to Yusuke. Yusuke is in the mood for a good old fight, and heads off to face them without Kuwabara. He wants to fight all three at once, but one of the guys, Kido, is the only one to fight. Yusuke easily beats him up, but then Kido gets serious. He welcomes Yusuke to his territory, and Yusuke finds that he can't move.
Puu flies off and finds Kuwabara and Botan, and writes a message on a board: Yusuke has been abducted! They all head back to the field where Yusuke went off too, but only find his bag and a note. The note states to come to Yojigen Mansion tonight, and Kuwabara, Hiei and Kurama must go, otherwise Yusuke's safety can't be guaranteed.
-The opening scene with elder Toguro isn't in the manga.
-The part where Jorge goes to Koenma and knocks over all of his papers is only in the anime.
-The part with Botan, Ayame and the other Spirit Realm guide isn't in the manga.
-The scene where Yusuke, Kuwabara and Keiko walk to school, and encounter some guys who try to harass them, is not in the manga.
-The classroom scene with Yusuke and Kuwabara plays out differently in the manga. In the manga, Yusuke tells Kuwabara about how it was Toguro who told Koenma to keep Genkai's body preserved (this part was shown in the previous episode). Only Botan leaves the room in the manga. The anime changed this scene so it also has Kuwabara's three friends in it, and it also has Kuwabara think about Yukina, before Yusuke appears and uses his "spirit gun" on him.
-Any scenes in this episode set at Meio private academy were not in the manga.
-In the manga, Puu is already attached to Yusuke's bag. In the anime, a short scene was added where Keiko meets Yusuke, and she ties Puu to the bag.
-The fight between Yusuke and Kido is slightly longer in the anime.
-Starting from this episode, a new intro sequence is used. Is still uses the opening theme song "Smile Bomb", which the original intro used.
