It is the final match of the Dark Tournament. At last, the curtain over the fated battle has been raised. As the ferocious, lightning-fast fight unfolded, Yusuke found an opening and fired a spirit gun blast with his full power behind it. It completely caught hold of Toguro, and blew him a considerable distance away from the arena! It appeared as though he had been spectacularly defeated. However...

Toguro: That's all there is to your power, is it?

Toguro's 100% Terror!

Toguro sends out a blast of energy, which breaks through Yusuke's spirit energy barrier. Yusuke thinks that even with Toguro at 80% power, there's still such a difference between them.

Toguro says he was a fool to expect this much from him. He doesn't consider Yusuke to be worth fighting at 100%, as 80% will be enough. He can finish him off as he is now. Kuwabara wonder what kind of monster Toguro is, as he took that tremendous spirit gun blast like it was nothing. Chu can't believe it either, as that spirit gun blast was over three times greater than the one Yusuke used against him. Rinku says the spirit gun had no effect on Toguro.

Jin and Toya know this is bad, as if the spirit gun has no effect, Yusuke has no chance of winning. Koto comments that Urameshi's most powerful technique was no match for Toguro, and now there is absolutely no hope of Urameshi winning. Jorge tells her she can't say it as bluntly as that, but Koto says what she just said is true, isn't it? Jorge says it may be true, but she could at least say that it's here where Yusuke will make another push, or maybe he has another finishing move tucked away, or something.

She asks him if what he's just said is true, to which he says probably not. She tells him in that case, be quiet! Back on the ring, Yusuke smirks and says that, sure enough, it was too much for him to hope for, the way he is.

Toguro wonders what he means. Yusuke tears off one of his wristbands. Koto comments that, for some reason, Urameshi has taken off his wristband, and it appears his wrist is now glowing.

Yusuke's wrist is glowing, and he then rips off his other wrist band. This results in energy glowing around his wrists and ankles. Toguro knows what these things are:

Cursed Spirit Shackles: Path of Training

Kuwabara wonders what they are, whilst Kurama can't believe that Yusuke was fighting with a handicap against Toguro. Yusuke thinks back to what Genkai said, just before he went through his final trial...

Genkai told him there was something she was going to have to have him put on. She had him hold out his hands, then she used a technique that cuffed his wrists. This added a great weight to his hands, which forced him down. As he got back up, Genkai told him that this is one of the spirit wave training exercises, the spirit shackles. To put it simply, it's like a cast made for improving his spiritual power. She created another set around his ankles.

Yusuke tried to move his arms, but couldn't keep them apart. Genkai told him no matter how hard he tried with just his muscles, he'd never get them to budge. He would need to fully use his whole body's spirit energy. As she'd explained to him before, his physical strength and spiritual strength have two completely different natures. Yusuke tried using his spiritual strength, and was able to move.

Yusuke asked her if she's telling him that he needed to stay in his full-power state all the time. Genkai told him he did, unless he wanted to die. He needed to get use to wearing the shackles first, once he does, what was once his full power will become a mere fraction of what he'll be able to do. She then said she'll give him a word to use as a key to remove them, but he shouldn't say it until the very end. She knows Yusuke will know the right time to say the word. Back in the present, Yusuke says the word to remove the shackles: "Ante!"

An incredible amount of spirit energy rises out of Yusuke, which changes into a blue phoenix. It flies around the stadium.

It then settles over Yusuke, and he absorbs it back into his body. Kuwabara says that Urameshi is more than a match for Toguro now, there's no way he can lose like this. Koto comments that this is a surprise, as incredibly Urameshi had plenty of spare power remaining.

Jin and Toya are also surprised at how much power Yusuke had left, whilst Chu wonders just how strong Yusuke is going to get. Rinku tells Chu if he fought Yusuke now, he'd be no match for him at all. Botan tells the others they've got master Genkai to thank, as now Yusuke will definitely win. Shizuru says Yusuke will win... as long as Toguro stays as he is now.

Toguro asks Yusuke if he really thought he could win whilst still wearing those spirit shackles. Yusuke says maybe... but it turned out to be too much to expect. Toguro tells him to come on -he'll show him who's testing who.

Yusuke runs forward and jumps up, and gets right in front of Toguro in a second. He pummels him with punches, and then hits him with a jumping uppercut.

Kuwabara can't believe Urameshi managing to send Toguro flying with just his bare hands. Toguro falls down and slides across the ground, but as he comes to a stop, Yusuke hits him again.

As the ground around them breaks up, Yusuke starts hitting Toguro again, over and over. But as he does, he notices something with Toguro.

He suddenly stops punching and jumps back up. Koto comments what could this mean, as after that drawn-out attack, Urameshi has suddenly moved back.

Yusuke thinks he could sense neither bloodlust or fighting spirit from Toguro. When he and Toguro's eyes met, he felt as though he was going to be killed. Toguro gets back up and climbs out of the crater. He no longer seems to be at 80% power, as Jin says his body has become skinny. Toya wonders if this means Toguro used up all his power.

Kurama thinks this is creepy, as it's like he's standing on a beach just before a giant tsunami arrives. Toguro tells Yusuke that, for the first time, he's encountered a worthy opponent. He starts to power up again, and says he'll make this a good match: 100%!

Toguro's power goes off the scale, and he emits a incredibly bright light from his body. Koto comments that Toguro is about to reveal 100% of his power. Toguro's demon energy starts flying around the entire stadium.

A good number of spectators are vaporized by it, but Botan's group survives thanks to Puu's barrier. Chu's group avoid it by leaping out of the way.

Toguro continues to power up, as he struggles to get to 100%. His form changes, and he sends out an energy wave that briefly causes everything to become dark. When things return to normal, Toguro no longer looks human.

Kuwabara tells Urameshi to attack now, before Toguro reaches 100%. But Yusuke finds that he can't move. It's not fear he's feeling, it's because he wants to see Toguro at 100%. Toguro then reaches 100%.

Even Sakyo is surprised at Toguro's new form. Shizuru flat out states there's no way a human could ever beat that, but Keiko is sure Yusuke will be alright. Koto comments that Toguro is at 100%, and just by assuming this form, roughly one quarter of the spectators have been eradicated.

Kuwabara says he thought it was strange his spiritual sensitivity hadn't been working for a little while, and now he knows the reason. Feeling Toguro's demon energy straight on has made him feel funny in the head. Koenma thinks he's undertake a perilous wager... if only Yusuke had met Genkai a year earlier. Toguro starts walking forward, but then stops.

He does something with his hand, and Yusuke is suddenly sent flying back. As Yusuke gets up, he realizes that Toguro was able to create a bullet-like blast of air pressure...

...just by flicking his thumb. Toguro tells him he'll now do this rapid fire style. He starts to attack, but Yusuke manages to block them all. But Yusuke thinks that at this rate, his strength is going to wear down just by blocking them.

As Toguro stops his attack, Yusuke leaps forward and goes to punch him. Toguro manages to block Yusuke's punch with just his thumb.

He then punches Yusuke, hitting him in the arm. Yusuke crashes back to the ground, as Toguro looms over him.

Yusuke readies his spirit gun, but Toguro tells him to shoot it with his full power -this may be his last chance. Yusuke fires, and Toguro takes the shot head-on. But this time, it doesn't push him back -it does nothing to him!

Toguro says that, from his viewpoint, as someone who used to be human... Yusuke currently lacks something. He uses his speed to pick up Yusuke instantly.

He tells Yusuke he lacks the sense of an impending crisis. He asks him if he still thinks he's not going to die, and then punches him. Yusuke is sent flying upwards, and crashes into one of the stands.

Toguro displays his overwhelming 100% power! Power, speed and even the spirit gun are no match for him. How is Yusuke going to fight him after this?
