Synopsis
Realizing he can't beat Toguro like this, Yusuke reveals he is wearing spirit shackles -something Genkai gave him before he took his final trial. By wearing the shackles, Genkai had told him they would increase his spirit energy over time. He rips off his wristbands and then says a word to unlock the shackles, which results in him releasing an incredible amount of spiritual energy. This energy takes the form of a phoenix, which Yusuke absorbs back into his body. He then attacks Toguro, and this time, is able to knock him down just by punching him. However he senses something is wrong, and ceases his attack.
Toguro gets up, and tells Yusuke he is the first worthy opponent he's met. He decides to use 100% of his power, and in doing so changes form entirely. Many of the demon spectators are vaporized by the energy Toguro unleashes, whilst the survivors can't believe what Toguro has become now. Toguro attacks by creating bullet-like blasts of air pressure, that Yusuke has no choice but to block.
Yusuke counters with a punch, but Toguro is able to block it with just his thumb. He punches Yusuke in the arm, sending him flying back. Yusuke then tries a spirit gun shot, but Toguro lets this hit him head-on, and receives no damage. After picking Yusuke up, Toguro tells him he lacks the sense of an impending crisis. He asks him if he still thinks he's not going to die.
He then punches him, and Yusuke is sent flying upwards, where he crashes into one of the stands. Yusuke can't match Toguro in terms of power or speed, and even his spirit gun is useless. How is he going to fight him after this?
-A lot of Chu, Rinku, Jin and Toya's dialogue was not in the manga. The manga has Chu yell for Yusuke to nail Toguro good, but that's it.
-Going 100% causes Toguro to vomit in the manga, something he doesn't do in the anime.
-During Toguro's transformation, Koto does not put on a pair of sunglasses in the manga.
-In the manga, it is clear that Toguro destroys Yusuke's spirit gun blast by screaming at it. It's kind of hinted at that this is what he does in the anime, but it's not really that clear.
-In the manga, Toguro says the stuff about impending crisis first, then he punches Yusuke. In the anime, this was changed so he grabs Yusuke first, then says the impending crisis dialogue, and then punches him.
-Sakyo somehow manages to survive Toguro going to 80% and 100% with no issue, but he's never seen getting his own protective barrier or anything.
