Synopsis
Kuwabara risks using the sword of trials he received from Suzuki, and is pleased to see what he can do with it. He rushes off to show Urameshi, only to find him outside the hotel, surrounding by huge amounts of spiritual energy. Hiei and Kurama then show up, and Kuwabara wonders where Genkai is. Yusuke says she won't be coming, but does not tell Kuwabara that she has died. Kurama and Hiei have figured this out without Yusuke having to tell them.
Koenma sees Botan, and she says she has taken Genkai to the Spirit Realm, which she found very difficult to do. Koenma tells her not to grieve, and then says he has to go, as he's going to be busy. At the stadium, the Urameshi team wait to be called out. Kuwabara asks if Genkai really couldn't come, and Yusuke says she can't. The team then head out to the ring, where the demon spectators tell them to die. Kuwabara tells them to shut up.
The Toguro team then appear, but the spectators notice a problem: neither team has the required five members. The finals will be a series of five one on one battles, and whichever team wins three fights first will be declared the winners. Outside, Botan forgets the tickets, so she and the others can't get into the stadium. However, they see the scalper they'd met before, and manage to swindle him out of four tickets he had. Back in the stadium, the fifth Toguro team member, Sakyo, appears. He claims he's not here to fight, he's just here to watch the deaths of the Urameshi team from the best vantage point.
The fifth member of the Urameshi team then shows up: Koenma! He's not here to fight either, and reveals he has some booster rockets on his back he intends to use to escape with, in the unlikely event he's called on to fight. Juri points out that they can't use an alternate if Genkai is still alive, but before Yusuke can explain she has died, Sakyo says he and his team don't mind. The first match of the final round is about to begin, as Karasu faces Kurama.
-In the manga, Kuwabara finds Yusuke in their hotel room. In the anime, this was changed so Kuwabara yells to Yusuke from outside the hotel, and then sees him nearby at the bottom of a cliff.
-The scene with Juri, where she's outside the stadium looking at the line of demons, was used earlier in the manga, and had an additional part not shown in the anime where she asks a demon about how long he's been here for.

-The scene where Koenma and Jorge meet Botan in the hotel room wasn't in the manga.
-Koenma just suddenly appears with the team in the manga. In the anime, this was changed so he gets a trumpet fanfare, and the doors open for him to walk out through.
-In the manga, Kuwabara does not say he'll fight Karasu as he does in the anime.
-The scene with Botan and the others meeting the scalper doesn't happen in the manga. They later mention they met the scalper in the manga, but it's not shown how they got tickets from him.
-Botan and the others don't appear in the stadium just yet either at this point in the manga.
-In the manga, Shizuru never meets Sakyo, so the scene in this episode where she recognizes him as he walks out doesn't happen.
