In an elimination round against the Devilish Trainer team, the Urameshi team has the handicap of not having Kuwabara, Hiei or the masked fighter participate. Kurama fought desperately to defeat the first challenger, Gama, and the second challenger, Toya. However, by this time, Kurama had also become heavily injured, leaving Yusuke all alone. First, he defeated the middle challenger, Bakken, all at once! And now, he must face a mighty opponent in the wind-tamer, Jin!

Jin, the Wind Tamer! A Stormy Air Battle

As Jin looks down at the island, he says how nice it is. He's going to make certain he gets it! He then hears Yusuke telling him to get the hell down here. Jin says he's going to knock Yusuke flat, and goes into a dive.

He comes down a great speed, rushing right past Yusuke, but then comes back and heads right at him. Yusuke attempts a kick, but Jin hits him first. Yusuke gets knocked down, but Jin thinks about how impressive it was for Yusuke to try and attack him whilst he was off-balance.

Yusuke gets up and says that was an awesome punch, so it looks like he's going to fully enjoy this. Jin thinks Yusuke is a pretty crafty guy for trying a move like that. At the side of the ring, Botan wonders why Yusuke is smiling. Kuwabara thinks it's because he must like that Jin guy a lot. He says Urameshi is the kind of guy where the stronger his opponent is, the more fired up he gets.

Koenma thinks Jin seems pretty tough. Jorge thinks Jin isn't playing fair, as the way he keeps flying around the air makes it impossible to catch him. Koenma says that's true, but as he's flying under the control of his own spectral power, it's not against the rules. Jorge still thinks Yusuke is at an disadvantage, and wonders what he can do. Meanwhile, Jin lands back on the ring. He tells Yusuke it's too early to be commending him after just one punch. He goes into a stance and sticks his arm out...

...and then starts a technique. Koto comments that Jin has created a tornado over his own arm. This causes a powerful wind to blow through the ring.

SHURA SENPU KEN

(Asura Whirlwind Fist)

The masked fighter says that tornado has a lot more force to it than meets the eye. Jin runs forward and goes to punch Yusuke, but Yusuke jumps back. Jin's attack only grazes him, but even then it has enough force to send him flying off the ring.

Yusuke prevents himself from crashing into a wall, and instead holds onto it. He turns around to see Jin coming right at him, so he jumps off a second before Jin charges into it.

Several spectators are sent flying, and Koto comments that the move has such incredible destructive force. Kuwabara thinks if Urameshi had been hit by that directly, it would have finished him, no matter how tough he is.

Jin says it has been a long time since he's had an opponent worth beating. Elsewhere in the stadium, Butajiri says his team has as good as won now. He believes that there's nobody who can stand up to Jin. He asks Sakyo if he'd like to bet on his team, as there's still time. Sakyo declines, and Butajiri tells him he's being pretty cautious for someone who's usually so daring. Sakyo says they won't know who will win until the match is over.

Koenma says he sure does envy Jin, as he can create wind on his own. Imagine not needing any electric fans, or paper fans, or folding fans, or coolers... Jorge quietly says he can't decide if Koenma is smart or dumb. Back in the ring, Koto comments that both fighters have returned to the ring, and the match can continue. The crowd cheer for Jin, as he uses his whirlwind fist technique again.

But before he gets the chance to do it, Yusuke goes on the attack, using a barrage of super-fast punches. Jin does his best to block them all and tries to get away, but Yusuke stays with him.

Koto comments that the two are now moving too fast for her to even see, so there's no way she can offer any play by play like this. Botan asks Kuwabara if he can see them, and he says he barely can. Botan asks what's going on, and he eventually says that... they're exchanging punches ...he thinks. At the medical tent, Hiei thinks Yusuke has a slight edge in terms of speed, but Jin has his wind powers.

Yusuke manages to hit Jin, and sees this as a chance to hit him again, but before his fist can connect, Jin takes off into the air again. Koto comments that Jin, who may have thought he was at a disadvantage, has escaped into the air. Botan tells her something's been bothering her for a while -as Jin has flown off, isn't it classed as a ring out? She asks why Koto hasn't started her count.

Koto tells her that, according to the rules, a count is only given if part of someone's body touches someplace outside of the ring. As such, being in midair is not out of bounds, so a count won't be given. Kuwabara says that if Jin is losing, he can just escape into the air whenever he wants. Up in the air, Jin recovers from the punch he received, and says he gets it now -with a punch like that, it's no wonder Bakken couldn't stand up to Yusuke. He decides to come up with another strategy whilst waiting up here.

However Yusuke makes him think fast when he fires a spirit gun blast at him. It's dead on target, but Jin quickly creates a tornado around himself: a blast barrier.

The spirit gun blast hits the tornado, but eventually Jin is able to divert it away. Koto comments that Jin used a tornado to change the direction of the spirit gun blast, and he's a fearsome master of the wind.

Jin says he has an armor of wind protecting him -there's no way he can be hit by the spirit gun. As he starts to laugh, Yusuke has to grit his teeth. The crowd are all on Jin's side, especially now that Yusuke's spirit gun is useless. They start to chant this name.

Jin laps up the praise, whilst Shizuru wonders if Yusuke can handle this. Koenma is surprised at how much power the wind has, until Jorge reminds him it can do stuff like blow away houses and cars.

Koenma thinks that Jin, with all the power over wind he has, is one terrifying guy. Botan says that if Yusuke can't use his spirit gun, it cuts his power in half. Kuwabara thinks Urameshi should try hand to hand fighting, but Botan points out that if he tried that, Jin would just bombard him with his whirlwind fist technique.

The masked fighter says the spirit gun isn't utterly useless, as there's still away for it to hit Jin. But it's an awfully risky gamble. Hiei thinks Yusuke must have realized it, as the more dangerous the gamble, the more someone like Yusuke is likely to take it. Jin says it's about time they finished this, and starts to use the whirlwind fist again. But as he dives down, Yusuke just stands there.

Koto wonders what he's doing, as does just about everyone else on or supporting the Urameshi team. Jin continues to dive, getting closer and closer...

...but as he does, Yusuke gets ready to fire his spirit gun. Hiei says it's the moment Jin puts out his whirlwind fist, whilst the masked fighter says Yusuke must take that moment to come in direct contact with his opponent, and fire his spirit gun.

Yusuke fires his spirit gun, and there is a large explosion which blows everyone nearby away.

Hiei thinks it was indeed a risky gamble. Koenma looks to see what happened, but he sees that both Yusuke and Jin are gone. Koto climbs back onto the ring and says she can't see either contestant. It appears they've both been blown away by the fierce collision of their powers.

She then sees that Yusuke got throw out of the ring, and has landed next to the medical tent. She then looks up and sees that Jin is back in the air. Jin says that was close, as if that had been a direct hit, he would have been in trouble.

Yusuke thinks he blew it, and wonders how he failed to hit Jin. Hiei explains that the moment the spirit gun struck Jin's whirlwind fist, Jin turned so his gusts formed an upward current.

By doing this, it changed the direction of the shockwave, and therefore kept the damage down to a minimum. Hiei thinks Jin appears to have seen many battles, and has a lot more experience than Yusuke. He wonders if there is any way for Yusuke to win, but Yusuke tells him that goes without saying -there's no way!

Hiei doesn't think that's the kind of thing to say with such confidence, and doesn't care who wins or loses. He's just getting sick of standing here, so if Yusuke loses, he'll be fighting next. Ruka says the rules state that once a contestant has been judged unfit to fight, they can't participate. Hiei doesn't care about the rules, and says he'll kill anyone who has anything to say about it.

The masked fighter says that Hiei has recovered a considerable amount of power. Yusuke jumps back into the ring as Koto reaches seven on her count. Yusuke tells Hiei to leave this to him, as he's going to settle this cleanly on the next attempt. Jin thinks he's acting tough, as he won't be able to beat him -not after he's thought of what to do next.

Koto gives the go ahead for the fight to restart, and Jin uses his whirlwind technique again. But this time, he uses it with both arms.

Yusuke thinks that if Jin comes at him with whirlwind fists on both arms, he can't match up to it with a spirit gun blast. He wonders what to do, and thinks that at this point, he has no choice. He goes into a stance, and spirit energy begins to glow around his entire body. The masked fighter knows of this technique, and thinks that in contrast to the spirit gun -which concentrates spirit energy into a point on the tip of the user's finger -this technique involves having to raise the entire body's spirit energy to its full power. As Yusuke has already fired his spirit gun three times today, he can only use this technique once, since it's based on the same principle. And on top of that, this technique places a whole different kind of burden upon the body than the spirit gun. Up in his VIP box, Koenma initially thinks Yusuke is going to use his shotgun technique, but then says Jin would still be able to deflect it.

He wonders what Yusuke is planning to do, and is surprised at how much he has leveled up spirit energy wise. Butajiri thinks no matter what technique Yusuke uses, it's obvious that Jin is going to win. Kuwabara wonders what Urameshi is going to do, but Kurama tells him and Botan they'll just have to trust Yusuke.

Jin sees that Yusuke's whole body is brimming with the power of a typhoon, but he thinks this is going to be fun. He goes into a dive, whilst Yusuke remains in his stance.

Just what kind of technique is Yusuke going to produce from this stance? And will it be of any use against Jin's whirlwind fists? The decisive moment has come!
