As the Urameshi team faced off against the Devilish Trainer team, they were missing Kuwabara, due to injury, and Hiei and the masked fighter, due to the schemes of the tournament's head office. In the middle of all this, Kurama had defeated the first challenger, Gama, and the second challenger, Toya, after intense fighting. However, the damage he took was great, and during a match with Bakken, the middle challenger, he didn't have enough energy to even move!

Annihilation! Yusuke's Iron Fist of Fury

Bakken says Kurama is no longer down, so the match can continue. He punches Kurama around, whilst another member of his team, Risho, says this Bakken will win this match. Jin shrugs it off. Bakken sends Kurama to the floor, at which points Koto runs in and tells him to stop.

She tells him if he continues this any longer, it'll threaten Kurama's life. She wants to begin a count, but Bakken tells her to shut up. He slaps her hard enough to send her flying off the ring, and says he's doing this in order to take his life. He picks Kurama back up and is about to hit him again...

...when Risho tells him to stop. Bakken asks why, and Risho says if he'd struck Kurama, he would have been killed. He tells him to look behind, so he does, and sees Yusuke ready to fire a spirit gun blast at him.

RIsho tells Bakken that Yusuke would have blasted him even if it meant ignoring the tournament's rules and then taking on every demon in the stadium. Risho says their purpose here is to win their way through, there's no need for them to kill demons wastefully. Bakken thinks he's being too soft, just like the others on his team, and thinks they should just be able to kill anyone who gets in their way. But he then tosses Kurama out of the ring. Koto gets up and awards the victory to Bakken.

Yusuke checks on Kurama, who is unconscious. Ruka watches Yusuke carry him off, and says Kurama managed to hang onto his life. Hiei tells her she was lucky to hang on to hers, along with every other demon in this place. The masked fighter says Yusuke wasn't the only one about to fire, as Hiei was as well. It would have turned into a life or death battle involving everyone in the stadium here.

Ruka asks if they are saying they'd try to fight whilst inside her peripheral realm, one of the finest of the Demon Realm. The masked fighter tells her to drop the bold front, as she must have realized it by now -she can't keep them locked up forever. Kuwabara says at this point, he'll have to fight, but keels over seconds after trying to get up. Botan tells him to just lie down like a good boy.

Yusuke stares at Bakken, but Bakken asks if he's trying to make him shy away by staring at him. Yusuke gets onto the ring, and Botan says to start the fourth match. Bakken goes into a stance, and it seems to put him under a great deal of strain. But then, he starts to sweat profusely.

Kuwabara says he senses something strange, the sense of some spectral technique that Bakken is hiding. Sakyo asks Butajiri if he really thinks someone like Bakken is fit to take on Urameshi. Butajiri says Bakken will be fine -he has a trick up his sleeve. Yusuke asks Bakken what's wrong -he's sweating from breathing so hard before they've even started fighting! But Bakken's sweat is actually part of a technique he's using:

SHURA NINJITSU: HAKUEN NO KIRI

(Asura Ninja Technique: Vapor of White Smoke)

Bakken creates a white fog from his sweat, and suddenly vanishes. Yusuke can't see where he went, and Kuwabara says Bakken must be able to control the fog. Soon the entire stadium is covered up by it.

Koto comments that Bakken has turned that great deal of sweat into mist, and has hidden himself within it. Urameshi won't be able to tell where his attacker is coming from like this! Yusuke wonders how he's supposed to fight, and then hears something. He sees some kind of tornado projectile heading his way, so he jumps over it, but this was just a distraction by Bakken -who suddenly appears above him and punches him down.

Yusuke then sees another tornado projectile and jumps, but the same thing happens -Bakken lands a punch on him. As Yusuke gets back up, Bakken says he's powerless to stop him.

Bakken lands another punch, which sends Yusuke sliding back. Bakken says he's to be just as Kurama was: a sandbag for him to hit. Yusuke laughs and says he's relieved -no matter how many times Bakken had hit Kurama with those weak punches, he never would have been able to kill him. And Yusuke thinks Bakken is also several notches weaker than Jin, as this sweat-reeking mist would be blown away immediately by Jin's wind. He thinks Bakken's "talent" is to just clobber his opponent whilst hiding in this mist.

Bakken tells him to shut up, and charges. He says Yusuke may think he's so smart, but he bets he won't be able to create any wind. He jumps up and intends to punch Yusuke in the head, but just before he can attack, Yusuke fires a spirit gun blast at the ring floor. This causes a large explosion...

...which sends Bakken flying back. It also completely clears away his fog. Bakken gets up and sees what has happened, but then wonders where his opponent is. Yusuke suddenly appears behind him, and tells him he can face this way if he wants. The punch he has ready for him isn't a feeble punch like his.

Bakken turns around and goes to punch him first, but Yusuke is far too quick for him. He delivers a mighty punch straight into Bakken's gut.

Bakken stumbles back and falls down. Koto says it appears that Urameshi has shattered Bakken's ribs with one blow. As Yusuke comes over, Bakken asks him to wait, as his ribs are now broken -he can't fight any more! Yusuke asks him if he forgot what he did to Kurama, who also couldn't fight. Bakken says he was too worked up then, so he doesn't remember it that well. When it's match time, anyone can lose their head!

He says he really means it, and starts to cry, but then quickly picks up a rock and smashes it over Yusuke's head.

Yusuke survives without injury, and says Bakken is right. He was worked up at the time, so must have forgotten what he did to Kurama. So Yusuke decides to jog his memory, and whilst Bakken tries to run, he doesn't get very far. Yusuke then batters Bakken around...

...and sends him flying off the ring, straight into a wall. Koto starts a count, and unsurprisingly Bakken does not get back up.

She says Urameshi is the winner, but he's already walking off the ring. He goes to check on Kurama, who has now woken up. Kurama says he's sorry, as he'd planned to defeat three of them. Yusuke says that doesn't matter, but asks about his injuries. Kurama says the seed he planted inside himself is going to give him the most trouble.

It's a Demon Realm plant, so will take some time for it to die. It seems he's now reaping what he's sown. Yusuke tells him to rest, as he'll take care of the remaining two. Kurama tells him to take care, as the previous three were mixed up in order of their strengths, but the remaining two are definitely in the captain's class. At the medical tent, Hiei's arm seems to be getting better, whilst Ruka is getting out of breath. The masked fighter thinks that tremendous spiritual power is returning to Hiei, she's not sure why, but Ruka's peripheral realm is having a healing effect on Hiei's right arm.

The next fight is then about to start, as Yusuke faces Jin. Koenma and Jorge are watching and about to have something to eat, when Jorge suggests this is no time to be eating crab. Butajiri says Jin is sure to defeat Urameshi, and considers him to be in a different class when compared to the others on his team.

The crowd chant for Jin to kill, but Jin finds them annoying. He tells Yusuke to look at this -his ears are all springy and pointing out.

He explains that this happens whenever he gets fired up and excited, and its been a long time since that's happened. He also tells Yusuke in private that when he sent Bakken sailing, he was happy about it -he was getting fed up with his teammate's dirty tricks. But he asks Yusuke to keep this a secret from Risho. This causes them both to laugh, and Yusuke thinks Jin is a real joker. He'd been planning on giving into his anger and blowing him away, but now he's purged his hostility.

Jin says he and Bakken are different. To fight with sour feelings isn't any fun, not when your very life is on the line. He then calls up his powerful wind, and starts to float. Koto comments that the match hasn't even begun yet, and Jin has already begin commanding the wind to suspend himself in the air.

Yusuke says just thinking about being able to fight Jin is starting to get him fired up. Jin says they'll have an enjoyable fight. Koto signals for the fifth match to start, and Yusuke runs over to try and punch Jin. But Jin is up in the air in an instant. Koto comments that Jin has soared like a rocket, and gone up high.

Jin heads straight up, and is soon out of the stadium and then far above the island. He stops and takes a look back down below, and says the wind up here sure is lively. He then says that it's such a nice island, he's going to make sure that he gets it.

Koto wonders what Jin is going, and Yusuke tells him to come on and get down here. Jin says he'll knock him flat, and dives down. He flies back into the stadium, but misses Yusuke on purpose. He flies around the stadium at great speed, and Yusuke can barely keep up with him.

Jin repeats that he'll knock Yusuke flat, and dives towards him. Yusuke tries to kick him first, but Jin avoids his attack, and then punches him in the face.

Yusuke gets back up and says that was an awesome punch -he's going to fully enjoy this. Jin smiles back at him. Yusuke has to fight Jin, but will also have to face Risho. Can he defeat them both by himself?
