Synopsis
A Decepticon attack on a group of Autobots goes terribly, mainly because of Galvatron, who bashes around his own forces and fights with no strategy. The Autobots escape and the Decepticons return to Chaar, where some Decepticons tell Cyclonus how fed up they are. Cyclonus warns them about treason, but Swindle and Motormaster threaten that if Cyclonus doesn't do something about Galvatron, they'll turn on him. Cyclonus is then contacted by a Quintesson hologram, who is amused at Galvatron's recent actions. The Quintesson tells Cyclonus about Torkulon, a planet where Galvatron's madness could be cured.
Cyclonus tricks Galvatron into going to Torkulon, under the guise that the Autobots are hiding there. They arrive at the planet and meet some of its strange patients, who are being looked after by the Torkuli. The Torkuli restrain Galvatron and try several different treatments with him, but they all fail -when Galvatron is told to talk about his problems he ends up attacking his therapist, and then the psychomotor reintegration goes wrong when Galvatron constructs a gun and starts shooting up the room with it.
When the exo-drama treatment also immediately fails, the Torkuli decide they have no choice but to use the Ayla solution. The Ayla will normalize Galvatron by curing him of being Galvatron. The Torkuli explain that the Ayla are a living extension of the planet itself, with Torkulon being a living planet which is one vast computer. The Decepticons realize the Torkuli are going to destroy Galvatron's mind, but are restrained as the Ayla begin to drill into Galvatron. But as they do, Galvatron's mind is linked with that of Torkulon's.
The entire planet begins to shake, and Galvatron is able to get free. He reprimands Cyclonus and then heads to where the planet's memory core is, having found out its location when his mind was linked to it. He transforms and shoots the memory core, then goes on a rampage across the planet, causing so much damage Cyclonus believes it would take centuries for it to be repaired. Galvatron thinks his work may not be done yet, but after Cyclonus reminds him they have more pressing concerns -such as the Autobots -the Decepticons leave the planet.
-The Secret Files segment for this episode is about the Autobots.
-Ratbat finally makes an appearance in the third season. He hasn't been seen since the Transformers movie.
-Laserbeak suddenly appears out of nowhere as Motormaster and Swindle threaten Cyclonus. This is his last appearance in the series.
-Unfortunately the Torkuli don't have names, and the dialogue script just designates them as Torkuli #1, Torkuli #2 etc.
-Throughout the episode, the Decepticons are shown firing blue lasers instead of the usual pink. The Autobots also fire red lasers instead of yellow. The same error happened in this episode.
-Ratbat's wings are layered behind the asteroid during this shot, making him look gigantic.
-Soundwave only has one line to say in this episode, and his words haven't been through the usual sound processing. This type of error with him last happened all the way back in Roll for It, a season one episode.
-Galvatron is shown grappling with Ultra Magnus. Then a Sweep says he'll help Galvatron. When it cuts back to Galvatron, Ultra Magnus is suddenly gone.
-As the Autobots leave, Swindle is suddenly seen with the Decepticons. He wasn't seen before this. It's possible he was used instead of Soundwave.
-Cyclonus and the Quintesson hologram aren't layered correctly during this shot, they're standing at an odd angle.
-Soundwave's chest Decepticon insignia is missing during this shot.
