Synopsis
A Quintesson scientist wants to study several different kinds of Transformers, along with a human. He and a Quintesson guard kidnap Ultra Magus, Cyclonus, Wreck-Gar and Marissa Faireborn. They are imprisoned on the scientist's ship, and the scientist intends to study and dispose of Marissa first, but then the ship starts shaking. It has entered an electron storm, so the Quintessons rush off to get the ship out of it. They manage this, but Ultra Magnus shorts out the energy bars of the cells, allowing them to escape. Wreck-Gar starts fighting the guard, whilst Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus fight each other.
However Marissa tells them to stop when she and the scientist find out they've got bigger problems: a black hole. Their ship is able to stay in place, but can't move back away from it. The scientist rushes off to try and use the one remaining escape pod, but is stopped by Ultra Magnus. He wants Marissa to use it, but this leads to more arguing, and the escape pod ends up being launched with nobody in it. The ship's engines then fail and the ship is pulled into the black hole.
The group survive, and see that their colors have changed. The scientist says that they are in a negative universe, but Ultra Magnus wants to know how they can get back. The scientist believes that if they can produce enough speed to enter the white hole on the correct trajectory, they have an excellent chance of passing through it intact. The group fix the engines and enter the white hole, passing through it and returning to their own universe. Sky Lynx and Astrotrain arrive, having both picked up a distress signal. Sky Lynx picks up Ultra Magnus, Wreck-Gar and Marissa, and heads back to Cybertron. Magnus says that they traveled from one universe to another and back again, but as citizens of the same galaxy, they're still so far apart.
-Broadside makes another appearance. He previously appeared in this episode, where he was used as a ship for some Autobots to escape in. However his appearance was most likely an error, and he was even shown being destroyed. He's back for this episode, but now he's a bad guy! Fans speculate that Broadside may have originally been intended to be a Decepticon, but it's unknown what the deal is. He'll show up in future episodes, but he's definitely an Autobot in later appearances.
-Marissa's father isn't named in the episode, but it meant to be an older version of Flint, a character from G.I. Joe.
-Unicron's head is very off-model, with the gray parts of his face colored gold. His eyes are also intact, when they're supposed to be smashed up.
-The wrong character model is used for the fake Rodimus -his chest Autobot logo is in the wrong place, and the yellow spoiler on his back is missing from almost every shot.
-The cell's light beams don't quite touch the bottom of the frame during this shot.
-The above error happens again when Wreck-Gar fires his fist.
-Ultra Magnus smashes the cockpit window of the escape pod. How was Marissa meant to use the pod without it being intact?
-When Ultra Magnus installs some parts for the engines, parts of his arms vanish.
-When the Quintesson scientist says they'll be "torn to pieces", Cyclonus' mouth is moving.
