Synopsis
The Insecticons raid the entire world, eating up any crops they come across. They then return to the Decepticon HQ, where they are drained of energy to be converted into energon cubes. They are given just a single cube each, displeasing them all. Meanwhile, Cosmos, Bumblebee and Spike return from Floron III, having collected some robotic insecticide to use against the Insecticons. But some spores on Cosmos ripen, which turn into an alien plant life called Morphobots. Bumblebee and Spike have to eject as Cosmos crash lands, and head back to Autobot HQ to get help. Bumblebee has some spores on him which Ratchet removes, as Perceptor studies some of them.
The Decepticons find out about the Morphobots, but Megatron is more interested in the insecticide. Thrust is sent to warn the Insecticons to not go to the valley were the Morphobots are, but they choose to ignore him. Meanwhile, the Autobots head back to where Cosmos crashed, only to find that Morphobots have multiplied and have taken the entire area over. Whilst their weapons have no effect, Ironhide is able to temporarily freeze them. The Morphobots also hate Blaster's loud music, moving away from him. The Autobot use Blaster to get to where Cosmos is and save him, but the Decepticons have been waiting for them. They attack, and the insecticide is destroyed. But the Morphobots then start attacking the Decepticons.
The Insecticons then arrive and intend to feed on the Morphobots, not knowing how dangerous they are. The Insecticon's clone army is massacred by the Morphobots, but the real Shrapnel, Bombshell and Kickback manage to escape. The Decepticons also retreat, so the Autobots round up the Morphobots and put then all in a rocket. The rocket takes off and heads to a world populated by robotic insects. As the Autobots watch the rocket, Perceptor then contacts Optimus Prime and asks for some help in the lab. Some of his spore samples have turned into Morphobots, and Perceptor hopes there's another rocket available real soon...
-This episode marks the debut of a new Autobot: Skids. He's come out of nowhere like everyone else so far this season, but unlike everyone else, he's not going to be around for long, appearing in just two episodes in total (including this one). He is barely in this episode and only says two words for the entire thing. This reason for his lack of screen time can be ready about at the TF wiki.
-When Megatron transforms, no transformation sound effect is heard.
-Megatron is colored entirely black during this shot.
-When Megatron transforms back to robot mode, there is again no transformation sound effect.
-Part of Blitzwing's head is colored purple instead of yellow during this shot.
