Synopsis
Dhalsim decides the time has come to give Ryu and Ken their first lesson, and show them the hadou. He takes them to a waterfall, and uses the kundalini breathing technique. This has an effect on Ryu, who suddenly feels that his body is going to explode. He attempts to gather the hadou between the palms of his hands, only for it to explode seconds later.
Ryu recovers, and Dhalsim tells him what he did was channel the power of the living things around him. In mere moments, he has developed a power which even an exceptional pupil would require over 5 years of devotion to master. He warns Ryu that he must be able to control it, but he cannot assist him with this, as the method of controlling ki he himself uses, kundalini, calls forth swadistana chakra, which is only used for healing and purification. He doesn't know how to use it as a martial art. Ryu must find the answer himself, so he goes to the cave of ancients. He faces an illusion of Guile, and when the two fight, he can see streaks of light coming from him, which show Ryu where he's going to attack. Ryu stands down, realizing that if Guile hadn't shown him and Ken how arrogant they were, they probably wouldn't know the first think about hadou now. Ryu then suddenly finds himself back at the waterfall, and he uses the hadou ken technique again. After hearing Dhalsim's words, Ryu is able to focus, and controls the hadou.
This time, he successfully releases the hadou ken, which shoots out of the cave, and into the sky. Later on, Ryu and Ken decide to leave the village. Dhalsim tells Ryu that his hadou ken is far from perfected, so he must keep training his mind. Ryu says he will, and then he and Ken leave. As the two get back to their boat, Ken says they've had a message from Chun Li, telling them to go to Barcelona, Spain.
-Akuma can be seen near the end of the episode:
He can be seen when Dhalsim tells Ryu to keep training his mind. He then appears again a few shots later, when the boat moves off.
-In the Manga dub, during the next episode preview, the narrator says "The Bloodthirsty Young Nobleman" yet the title card reads "The Bloodthirsty Prince".The latter title is what's used in the next episode.
