At a Shadaloo base, Zangief oversees the movement of a box full of weapons, which Bison will supervise their shipment tomorrow. However they hear a crash, and look to see that someone has just kicked the door to pieces.

The intruder throws out a fireball, which takes out several men. He then throws out another fireball, which hits Zangief and a couple of other guys.

The intruder walks in and drops a file on top of Zangief... a Street Fighter file! He the draws the Shadaloo logo on a wall and puts a line through it.

The next day, Bison arrives and says how dare the Street Fighters mock him. He asks Zangief if there are any witnesses, but he tells him no one recognized the attacker. He wonders if it could have been a Street Fighter, but Bison thinks it isn't like them to attack. Zangief wonders if Guile just snapped, but Bison calls him impudent and punches him away. He doesn't think this matters, as if it was the Street Fighters, their brazen attack will be returned tenfold!

Out in a desert, Escher has setup a temporary base. Guile arrives and Escher tells him that their headquarters were hit this morning. Some of the staff are still in critical condition, and he shows Guile footage of the destroyed HQ. Guile asks who did it, and Escher says they have evidence that Bison's forces made the attack, along with three others in the last 24 hours. He doesn't know why this is happening now, and says it's like Bison has declared war on the Street Fighters. Guile tells him if it's war Bison wants, it's war he gets.

He asks if Blanka and Chun-Li are available, and he says they are. As he pulls up their profiles on a computer, he says that their job isn't about search and destroy missions. Guile tells him not to worry, he's just going to look for a pattern. He wants to be there when Bison hits them again.

Elsewhere, the masked fighter arrives at another Shadaloo base. He destroys it and causes a power cut at a nearby town, and then laughs at his work. He then teleports and vanishes.

When Sagat finds out about this, he says it must have been the Street Fighters again. He tells Bison that if he can't provide tighter security, then perhaps someone else needs to. Bison asks if he means himself, perhaps he'd like to retire him right now. Sagat is about to explain himself, but then there is a series of explosions outside.

They see that their ships have been destroyed, and Sagat says if this doesn't stop, they will be wiped out. Bison says this is Guile's work, and it's time to settle this once and for all.

Elsewhere, another base is attacked, and this time Lucinda is injured. Chun-Li carries her to a helicopter, which leaves and takes her to a hospital. Blanka finds a piece of metal with the Shadaloo logo on it, but there's not much else left.

Guile finds a detonator microchip which is still in one piece, and hopes it'll lead to something. Blanka and CHun-Li then walk over, and Blanka tells Guile that Lucinda was listed among the injured, and has been sent to the nearest medical facility via helicopter.

Guile thinks about Lucinda, and then says he doesn't care what they have to do. Later, Blanka and Chun-Li load up a helicopter, then go and get Guile. They're meant to report to Escher, and they need to leave now if they are to make it on time. He tells them to go, as he feels he's close on making a breakthrough in finding Bison.

He says that Bison is behind these attacks, and if he stops him, no one else gets hurt. He tells them to tell Escher that he has a cold. They leave, as he continues his work. He is able to use the latitude and longitude located on the chip to find the location of the island Bison is on.

He arrives at the island via helicopter, and lands. But as he steps out and starts to take a look around, he almost immediately gets blasted.

Bison has also arrived, and he asks Guile if he remembers him. Guile says he remembers his stench, and charges at him, but Bison kicks him back. He asks him what brought him to this paradise, was it for a vacation? Bison says it's for revenge, but Guile responds by throwing a sonic boom at him.

Guile says he's happy to oblige him, and the two grapple with each other. Bison tells him to use his chi, so Guile charges, but Bison then tells him maybe he can learn to fly. He levitates out of the way...

...causing Guile to miss him and fall off the cliff. He manages to catch onto the rock, as several pieces fall into the lava pool below.

Bison looks down and says that after all these years, he's got the pure, simple joy of Guile's obliteration. However, Guile does some back flips to get himself out, and kicks Bison back.

As the two square off, Guile tells him that the microchip clue was elegant. Bison says he has no idea what he means, as he lured him here with that clumsy map. They start fighting again, but Guile asks about the map, as he doesn't understand. Bison tells him he knows very well, but all Guile says is that he knows Bison hurt innocent people. Bison tells him no one is innocent, and blasts at Guile again.

Guile gets sent flying back, as Bison charges and asks if he thought he'd defeated him in Shadaloo. He says they'll be no question this time, but he then hears a voice telling him to finish Guile off. They resume fighting, and Guile gets blasted down again. But then another man appears, telling them not to hesitate on his account. The two realize it's Akuma.

Akuma is there in spirit only, and is really meditating inside a cave. He says that whilst they are powerful, they are both easy to fool. He simply appealed to Bison's ego and Guile's honor. Guile asks him why he had to hurt his people, but Akuma asks him if he would have come so quickly if he'd merely asked. Bison wants to know why he has brought them here.

He says they are here to battle to the death, and the victor will then have the honor of being killed by him. Guile tells Bison he thinks Akuma is almost as full of himself as he is, but Bison calls him a fool. He thinks Akuma is after his organization, and wants his billions. Akuma says it is true that with them two gone, both sides will soon fall into disarray. He will then dispatch their people one at a time. However he has no use for Bison's power and influence, as he works alone. Bison asks what possible use they both are to him, and he says he has a more spiritual hunger... he wants their chi.

Elsewhere, Sagat sits in Bison's chair. Zangief asks him what he is doing, and he says he's seeing how it feels. He thinks Bison may not return from his little blood hunt for Guile, and even if he does, he may find things changed. Zangief says he'll have to deal with him first, but Sagat tells him it would be his pleasure, and calls him an oaf. Just then, another of Akuma's explosives goes off on the fan above them.

Meanwhile, Escher is enraged to find out Blanka and Chun-Li don't even know where Guile is. Blanka says this was clearly the way Guile wanted it, but Escher says he doesn't care what he wanted, as they need him. Every base they have has been hit, and he wants to know who would know how to do this. He then says this is because of that woman of his, but Blanka doesn't think Guile would risk the team over it. Chun-Li reveals she has Guile's data in a floppy disc, and gives it to Escher. Blanka says Guile claimed there was a purposeful clue to Bison's whereabouts, so Escher tells them to find it.

Back on the island, Guile says his chi is his own, no one can take it. Akuma tells him that life has its mysteries, and many societies believe that when a warrior conquers another in battle, he takes his victim's courage and strength. He has felt it, at the moment of final victory, he is filled with the energy of his opponent. Meditation and discipline then allow him to integrate it with his own chi. Bison tells him if he wants his chi so desperately, he should come and get it. If not, he should shut up and find another playmate for his childish games -he's leaving!

Akuma stops him from doing so by throwing energy blasts at his helicopter, causing it to explode and knock Bison back. Guile tells Bison it looks like Akuma likes playing with him.

However Akuma says they have barely started, and throws a fireball at the ground, destroying part of it. Guile and Bison drop back down towards the lava, but Guile is able to use the debris to stop himself from falling in.

Bison tries to fly out, but gets hit in the back by a chunk of rock. However Guile saves him from falling into the lava. As Bison gets up, he asks Guile why he saved him. Guile says letting people die isn't high on his list of instinctive responses. He asks Bison if he wants him to toss him in, and whilst Bison says no, he asks again why Guile did it. Guile says it's because dealing with Akuma isn't going to be easy, and he might need him to survive this. Bison says he is impressed, as for once, they agree on something.

Meanwhile, Bison and Chun-Li are able to figure out where Guile has gone to, although Chun-Li isn't thrilled at the idea if spending their field tip dodging volcanoes. They rush off to a helicopter.

However they aren't the only ones going to the island, as Sagat and Zangief have found the map and are on their way. Sagat asks Zangief if he agrees to his terms, and he says he does if Bison is dead -all they know is that his aircraft communicator is down. Sagat is certain Bison is done, he can feel it. He will carry his head back to Shadaloo!

Bison and Guile move away from the lava pool and head back up, but Akuma has left some traps around. Guile trips over a rod, and crashes into Bison.

Bison almost falls, but he manages to hang on and pull himself up. Guile tries to say sorry but doesn't get the time, as Bison kicks him. He tells him to watch where he's going, or he'll forget himself and get rid of him. Guile says if he thinks he can take him, and throws a sonic boom.

It hits Bison in the back, and Guile tells him he's ready any time. They're about to resume fighting when Akuma reappears and tells them to go ahead and make their move. He wants them to prove who is ready to face him. Guile says he'll face him now, and throws a sonic boom at him. However it goes straight through him and hits the cliff behind, causing it to crumble.

The ground Guile is on crumbles away, causing him to fall. Guile manages to stop himself, but Bison takes no action. Akuma watches for a little longer, but then vanishes. Guile suddenly starts falling again, but Bison finally does something and saves him at the last moment.

Guile tells him it seems he had to think about it. Bison explains that because he lacks Guile's instinctive compassion, he had to consider the pros and cons. Self-preservation narrowly won out over the pleasure of watching him burn. The two start searching for Akuma, as day turns to night. Akuma appears before them again and says that they're getting warmer, but he disappears once more. Guile says this looks like dead center, now he needs Bison's magnetic chi to move Akuma's hideaway enough so he can see it.

Bison uses his power to blast away part of a cliff, revealing a hidden door behind it. Guile knocks the door down with a sonic boom, and the two head inside the cave.

Akuma appears, for real this time, and says they have proved worthy after all. He'd never considered that they might work as a team, and together, their powers are nearly a match for his own. Bison tries using his head stomp attack, but Akuma teleports out of the way. Akuma tells Guile that Bison is slower than he expected, perhaps he has studied harder. Guile tries using his flash kick, but Akuma teleports again.

Chun-Li and Blanka arrive on the island. Chun-Li says they don't have much time, as the seismic readings indicate... she doesn't get to finish her sentence, as one of the volcanoes then erupts.

Back at the battle, neither Bison or Guile can land a hit on Akuma, who counters everything they try against him. Akuma throws Guile into Bison and tells them to feel their strength ebbing, and their life force draining.

Guile wonders if Akuma can teleport if he's in Bison's magnetic field. Bison decides to find out, and hits Akuma with an energy blast. Akuma says this cannot be!

Guile says this one's for Lucinda, and throws a sonic boom. Akuma gets hit, and is sent crashing out of the cave. However he seems to be unharmed, and tells Guile he was worthy -he's come as close as any mortal ever will.

But he warns that next time will not be so easy, and disappears before Guile can stop him. Chun-Li and Blanka arrive, just in time to see Akuma vanish. Guile explains that from what he's seen today, Akuma can definitely teleport. Chun-Li and Blanka know of Akuma, but Chun-Li says that no one has ever seen him. Guile says he's not anxious for another look. Blanka asks if he found Bison, and Guile says he might say that.

The Street Fighters then come under fire from Sagat and Zangief, as they pick up Bison in their helicopter. Blanka says that Bison is getting away, but Guile then surprises him and Chun-Li by telling them to let him go. He says that today didn't turn out quite like how he expected.

Bison returns the favor by stopping Zangief from firing any more. The entire island then begins to shake, as more volcanoes start to erupt. The Street Fighters make it back to their own helicopter, and take off just in time.

At the hospital, Lucinda is awake, and sees some flowers thrown on her bed. Guile arrives, and the two share a kiss.
