Synopsis
Hol Horse reports to Dio about Polnareff defecting, but Dio doesn't care. He wants Hol Horse to live up to his expectations, prompting Hol Horse to try and shoot him with the Emperor. Dio seems to teleport to avoid the bullet, and tells Hol Horse that was impressive. Hol Horse goes to the town Enya is at, and tries to partner up with her. But she stabs him with a knife, angry that he abandoned J. Geil and let him die. She uses her own Stand, Justice, to blow a hole open via the arm wound. Hol Horse tries to shoot Enya, but she controls his arm and gets him to shoot himself.
Jotaro's group later arrive in the town, having decided to find a hotel due to all the thick fog in the area. The town seems deserted, but they find a dead body in the street. The body has several hole-shaped chest wounds, yet there is no blood. A disguised Enya then appears, offering the group to stay at her hotel. The group decides to go, but as they sign in, Enya accidentally says the name "Joestar" despite nobody telling her it. Jotaro catches on to this, but Enya says she heard Polnareff say it earlier. The group are given keys to their separate rooms.
Later on, Polnareff decides to get a drink, and sees Enya at the bar. She tells him that she has been searching for someone, but then Hol Horse falls through a door, and tells Polnareff to run. Enya says her Stand can control the dead, and has many zombies head into the hotel. She says that J. Geil was her son, and for daring to kill him, Polnareff will suffer a slow, painful death.
-This episode's opening scene -which features Hol Horse reporting to Dio -does not happen until much later on in the manga, after Marriah and Alessi have been defeated. These two characters are not featured in the OVAs.
-In the manga, Hol Horse comes across several woman which Dio has killed. He doesn't find them in the episode.
-In the manga, Dio burns his fingers on Hol Horse's cigarette, to show how one side of his body heals faster than the other. This isn't shown in the episode.
-Hol Horse does not actually fire the Emperor at Dio in the manga, whilst he does in the episode.
-The scene showing Hol Horse waking up from his dream was not in the manga.
-The scene where Jotaro's group get gas for the truck has a few differences in the manga, the main one being there is no truck. Kakyoin is present in the episode, but in the manga he's not. Iggy is present in the manga instead, but he's yet to make his debut in the OVAs.
-The OVAs skip another part of the manga: ZZ.
-In the manga, Enya does not have the power to change her appearance like she does in the OVAs.
-The scene with Hol Horse meeting Enya happens after Jotaro's group have met Enya in the manga. In the episode, these scenes are the other way around.
-The town is full of people in the manga, whilst there's nobody there in the episode. The first person Jotaro's group comes across is the dead guy.
-In the manga, a lizard crawls out of the dead guy's mouth when the group find him. This doesn't happen in the episode.
-The gun the dead guy has is still smoking in the manga. It's not in the episode, so instead Joseph finds out it was recently fired by touching the chamber.
-In the manga, there is a part where Joseph tries to jump back into the truck, but almost jumps onto some spiky rails thanks to Enya creating an illusion. This isn't in the episode.
-Enya's conversation with Jotaro's group regarding how she knows the name Joestar happens outside the hotel in the manga, whilst in the episode it takes place inside it.
-The scene with Hol Horse and Enya takes place in the hotel's reception in the manga. In the episode, it was moved to the hotel's bar.
-Enya stabs Hol Horse with a pair of scissors in the manga, rather than the blade she uses in the episode.
-In the manga, Enya attempts to make Hol Horse swallow his own hand. This doesn't happen in the episode.
-The short scenes with Jotaro's group in their hotel rooms aren't in the manga.
-Due to Enya not being able to disguise herself, the scene where Polnareff finds her plays out a little differently in the manga. When Hol Horse crashes to the ground, the noise is heard by Polnareff, who investigates. Enya pretends the noise was caused by her falling over, and there is then a humorous scene where she has to move Hol Horse's body with her Stand without Polnareff noticing. In the episode, Polnareff and the disguised Enya sit and talk at the bar.
-During the opening scene, Dio is seen reading from the Quran. Due to complaints, shipments of both the OVAs and manga were halted. The manga does feature Dio reading from a book, but it is not the Quran. The manga would eventually resume publication, although certain panels were altered. I am not sure what happened with the OVAs -I don't think an altered version of this episode was released.
