Dio's World:
Farewell, My Friends

Joseph weakly mutters that Jotaro should keep his distance. But Jotaro has already started fighting with Dio, as their Stands begin to battle.

Dio asks Jotaro what's wrong -is that all the power he's got? The World and Star Platinum start punching each other, and Dio thinks this is a punching speed test. He thinks it's not even close, his opponent is weak, weak!

The World hits Star Platinum back, and Dio then stops time. Dio thinks that Jotaro, with only this level of Stand power, was able to survive his earlier attack. He has the World move in.

The World punches Jotaro twice, and Dio thinks this grand finale was unexpectedly simple. Time resumes, and Jotaro crashes into a lamppost. Dio says that the Joestar bloodline which had been bothering him, Dio, is finally coming to an end. But Dio is surprised when he sees Jotaro standing back up.

Jotaro says he's taken damage, but he's alright. He doesn't understand why, but he's survived again. Dio asks him what he just did, why is he still alive? Jotaro says he's not sure, but for all he knows, maybe Dio's Stand isn't all he cracks it up to be.

Dio tells him to hold his tongue, and stops time again. The World punches Jotaro again, but Dio then sees something: Star Platinum is somehow protecting Jotaro, even when time is frozen!

The World is about to attack again, but Star Platinum suddenly moves, and hits the World first. Dio's hand is cut...

...and he is sent flying into a butcher's shop. Time resumes, and Jotaro is knocked around. But he gets up and says that without any conscious effort, Star Platinum has been protecting him. He briefly thought he saw his Stand moving during the frozen time.

Dio gets up, and thinks this is incredible... Star Platinum and the World are similar types of Stands. As the injuries on his body heal up instantly, he removes a knife from his back, and then vanishes.

He starts stopping time to move around. He thinks it was unexpected for Jotaro to be able to come inside his frozen time, and was able to follow him with his eyes. It's not unlike a child learning how to ride a bicycle. Kakyoin was the one who revealed the secret of the World, and Jotaro has acknowledged the idea of the time freeze and becoming aware of being able to move inside frozen time. It seems the death of his comrades were not a waste after all. Now he, Dio, is thinking about how many seconds can Jotaro move around when time is frozen? One or two seconds? Or maybe he can move around for five seconds, matching him.

Jotaro thinks that if Dio can move around for five seconds, this is bad. Earlier, it was his frantic efforts that let him move for just an instant, so he can't let Dio know that. Dio tells him he's sure he doesn't want him to know. But from what he can see, Jotaro can only move for an instant, at best. If he can still do that, approaching him without caution is not something a wise person would do. That attack Jotaro made earlier was quite powerful, he found it stimulating.

He says he's just thought of a way to execute him, and pulls out several knives. He thinks Jotaro has gone pale, has he realized that his end will be more terrible that Joseph's? Jotaro jumps straight up high into the air, but Dio tells him it's useless -this is checkmate! He stops time again.

He jumps up onto the roof of a building, and asks Jotaro has he intends to avoid these knives. He throws a set of them out, and they stop just before Jotaro. Dio thinks the fact Jotaro can still see these must make it even more frightening.

He throws out more knives, and tells him if he doesn't do something about it now, he's going to have problems later. Jotaro manages to move, but only for an instant -Star Platinum is able to do a single punch which knocks away some of the knives, but many of them are still in place.

Dio says now it has been proven he can only move for an instant. Time resumes, and the knives start moving. Star Platinum starts punching, but some of the knives hit Jotaro.

Dio says it's over, but here's one more, just to be certain! He throws a knife which Star Platinum tries to punch, but it bounces off his arm and hits Jotaro's head.

As Jotaro falls, Dio is just relieved he could kill him this early on. He never thought Jotaro would be able to enter his world of frozen time. Jotaro crash lands into a street.

He's still alive, thanks to the splints he'd stuffed down his shirt earlier blocking the knives. He's more annoyed that Dio dared to put holes through his prized school jacket. He thinks he's still taken some heavy damage, so he'll just have to try playing dead and waiting for his chance. If Dio were to throw knives again, he doesn't think he'll be able to dodge them all this time. He needs to find a way to deliver a direct blow to Dio's head. Dio then drops down, and wonders if Jotaro is dead. But then he thinks he can't be too cautious when dealing with the Joestar bloodline. This is the first time for him, Dio, to feel a tinge of fear. He thinks he shouldn't go near Jotaro carelessly, as he might be playing dead.

He tries to listen for Jotaro's breathing. After waiting for a few seconds, he realizes Jotaro is not breathing. He decides to listen for his heartbeat instead, and places his ear on the ground. Jotaro has Star Platinum grab his heart.

Dio remains in place. Jotaro thinks this sucks, as if he passes out now, he seriously will die! He thinks this is some kind of bad joke...

...to use his own Stand to stop his heart and die from it. Dio says Jotaro's heart is not beating, and gets up. He says Jotaro is indeed dead, but he thinks that, just in case, he should sever his head. He rips apart a sign.

As he approaches Jotaro, he's unaware that there is someone above him. Dio says this is the end, and goes to strike Jotaro. But as he does, a rapier suddenly gets shoved through his head!

Polnareff tells Dio to go to hell. Dio stops time, and is surprised to see Polnareff -he can't believe that Vanilla Ice failed!

Jotaro then revives, as Star Platinum appears and punches Dio in the head. Dio is sent bouncing off a truck, and lands on some steps.

Time resumes, and Jotaro says he at last managed to deliver a direct blow to Dio's head. Polnareff says he made it in time, and asks Jotaro if he finished Dio off. Jotaro asks him about his injuries, but Polnareff tells him to not mind that. He tells him to get Dio, and avenge Avdol and Iggy! Jotaro realizes that Iggy has also died. Polnareff says he can't move any more, but Jotaro tells him not to talk, and to just wait here.

He says he's got to take care of some business, and removes the knife from his hat. Meanwhile, Dio says he's going to kill them, but then stumbles. His legs are weak, his head hurts... how can this be, for him, Dio, to feel sick?! Jotaro destroyed his head, now he can't stand?!

Jotaro then walks up to him and tells him he won't be forgiven, so he should resign to his fate. Dio starts laughing, and Jotaro gets ready to finish him off.

Dio suddenly stops time, and flips over backwards. Star Platinum's attack misses, and Dio grabs onto the back bumper of a car. Time then resumes.

The car drags Dio away, as Dio hopes he can make it to that place. Jotaro has some knives hit the car, causing the bumper bar to fall off. Dio rolls down the road, but then sees a manhole. He crawls towards it...

...but Star Platinum smashes it before Dio can escape. Jotaro says he's had enough of this game of tag, and tells Dio to give up. Dio attempts to stop time again...

...but Star Platinum punches him in the face. Star Platinum then punches Dio repeatedly, sending him flying down the street.

Dio tells Jotaro he's got him now, as this is his escape route! He's lost against him, Dio, in this game of wits! He asks Jotaro if this street looks familiar, or do they all look the same to a tourist? Jotaro then looks at the street, then looks at where Dio has landed: right next to Joseph.

Dio says that sucking the blood of Joseph Joestar was his escape route, which is what he's now done. He thinks this new blood fits him well, and tears off some of his own head. His self-inflicted wounds heal instantly, as he says that his body is that of his enemy from 100 years ago, Jonathan Joestar. What he just sucked now is the blood of Jonathan's grandson, Joseph! And the person who allowed him to escape to this place was Jotaro. The Joestar bloodline was a nuisance, like a dog turd in the road of his destiny, but in the end, they were all meant to be used by him, Dio.

Jotaro tells him he's unforgivable, bit Dio tells him to look. He stabs into Joseph's chest, and takes the rest of his blood.

Jotaro charges forward, thinking nobody could stay unaffected after seeing something like that, and thinks Dio has now made him incredibly angry. Dio says this is the final round. Jotaro leaps up into the air.

Dio stops time, but Star Platinum and the World both move inside the frozen time for several seconds. Star Platinum punches the World's hand, breaking it.

But Star Platinum then stops moving in the frozen time. Dio tells Jotaro that was quite impressive, as he's actually managed to prolong the amount of time he can move around. But he's feeling more and more powerful, and he, Dio, can now stop time for longer! He has the World attack again, as Dio says this is all thanks to Joseph's blood... this is the greatest high!

Dio kicks Jotaro a couple of times, and Jotaro hits the sea. Dio picks up a boat, and throws it at him.

As he watches the boat sink, Jotaro thinks this still isn't enough... he's not nearly enough angry yet! He leaps out of the water.

He and Dio fight in in the air, but Dio eventually hits Jotaro into a nearby tram. Dio then enters the tram.

Some people surround Dio, but Jotaro tells them to get away. Dio tells the lowly beings that they're in his way, so he kills several of them with a single swipe. Jotaro hits Dio out of the tram, and then leaps out of it.

Dio lands in a parking lot, and throws a couple of vehicles at Jotaro. Jotaro avoids one and hits the other aside, and then lands on a building. Dio jumps towards him, saying that this surge of power feels great!

Star Platinum hits through a tower, and then throws it at Dio. Dio starts punching through it.

Jotaro bursts out of the pillar, and Star Platinum starts punching Dio. Dio calls that a useless trick, and hits Jotaro back down.

Jotaro lands on a bridge, but Dio says that's enough warming up. He tells Jotaro that this will be the final instance of him stopping time, and does so.

Jotaro thinks that not being able to see Dio is bothering him, but it doesn't matter. He's decided on what he's going to do, and as long as he can move, he'll put Star Platinum up against him. He's very certain that the next time he sees Dio, he's going to go totally berserk! He wants Dio to come on, but then notices a shadow over him. Up above, Dio has picked up an oil tanker.

He slams it down onto Jotaro, but Jotaro is able to move in frozen time, and has Star Platinum start punching it. Dio starts punching back, and keeps yelling it's useless. Star Platinum continues punching, but the tanker continues to descend.

Dio leaps away, and the tanker then explodes. Dio lands and looks at the fire, and says it's over. At last, he's stomped out the Joestar bloodline, and now it has been proven that nobody can surpass him, Dio! He declares that he'll rule over all humans, and they'll grovel at his feet. As he starts laughing, he notices something strange: time has frozen, and he can't move! A voice tells him that the time he can move seems to be over.

Jotaro appears, and says that he has froze time. He asks Dio how it feels to want to move, but not being able to.

He has Star Platinum kick Dio's legs. As time resumes, Dio smashes to the floor. Jotaro tells him he'll show him no mercy, and he doesn't feel sorry for him at all. But torturing him to the end would leave a bad taste in his mouth. He asks Dio how many seconds it would take for his legs to heal, as he's going to blast him with Star Platinum the moment he recovers.

Dio thinks how dare Jotaro insult him. But even in the most crucial moment, Jotaro is still human. His way of thinking is meant for someone who will only live for a short period of time. He thinks what Jotaro just said about leaving a bad taste will be a fatal mistake. He starts to get back up and says that for him, there is only one simple ideal: victory and conquest. The method for how he gets his ideal doesn't matter!

He squirts blood from his leg, which hits Jotaro's eyes. He goes for a kick...

...as Jotaro goes for a punch. The two Stand clash for the last time.

Star Platinum's hand cracks. But after a few seconds, the World's leg cracks, as does the rest of his body.

Dio thinks this can't be, he can't... before he can say any more, his body explodes. Jotaro tells him there was only one cause for his defeat: he made him angry.

Later on, Joseph has been revived thanks to a blood transfusion from Dio's remains. He and Jotaro are on a Speedwagon Foundation paramedic helicopter, and watch as Dio's remains are dumped into the sea. Joseph thinks he owes it all to his grandson, and the precious lives that will never return.

As long as he lives, he won't forget about this journey. He tells Kakyoin, Iggy and Avdol that it's over.

Later on, Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff are at an airport. Joseph asks if Polnareff is really still going back to France, as he doesn't have any family left. He invites him to come to his place in New York instead. Polnareff says that whilst he has no family left, France is still his homeland. He has memories of his hometown, and no matter where he goes, it's the place he always returns to. He tells them to call him if they need him, as he'll come running from anywhere in the world. He says whilst there were many painful times, it was still enjoyable thanks to them.

Joseph says he enjoyed it too, from the bottom of his heart. As they have a group hug, Polnareff says so long, and tells Joseph to try and live long. He tells Jotaro not to forget about him.

Joseph tells him they'll see him again. Jotaro says even if he wanted to, Polnareff isn't the kind of character who could be forgotten easily. He tells him to take care. The group then go their separate ways.

In Japan, Holy suddenly wakes up, and tells her mother that she now feels great.

She says that they need to get ready, as she can feel it... her father and Jotaro, they're coming home! Jotaro and Joseph have boarded a plane, which heads back to Japan. Joseph takes out his Walkman, puts a Gipsy Kings cassette in, and lets it play. He and Jotaro are on their way home.
