Dio's World:
Kakyoin - Duel in the Barrier
Kakyoin asks about Jotaro. Joseph says he can't sense Jotaro's presence at all. He hopes that Polnareff and Iggy are safe, but it may be up to them to defeat Dio. He then asks Kakyoin how his eyes are. Kakyoin says they're alright now, and he can fight Dio with 100% of his power. Joseph tells him to be careful, as even Avdol was taken out instantly. And they weren't able to see how Dio's Stand, the World, worked at all. He says that Dio is going to come after his Joestar blood for sure, and wants to finish them all before sunrise. By then, there must be a chance to find the secret of his Stand, and that's when they must attack Dio together.
Nearby, Dio is following the truck. He heads down to the streets, and thinks about how automobiles have such power and speed. Back when he, Dio, was born, there were only horse carriages around. He walks straight out onto the road.
He is seemingly hit by a car, but then suddenly appears behind it. The car stops and the driver gets out, and sees that the front of the car is damaged.
Dio touches the car and asks if it still works. The driver tells him that if he's not hurt, then he should get lost, and stop touching things like that. He thinks Dio must have no idea who this car belongs to, and then thinks that maybe he bumped into it on purpose, knowing that it was the senator's car. Dio takes his wrist and then snaps his arm.
Dio gets into the car, where the senator is waiting. The senator tells him that young people seem to act on their impulses all too easily. He apologizes for his driver's behavior, and hopes Dio didn't get hurt. Dio tells him to start the car, but the senator laughs, and tells him he took out his driver. He takes out some money and tells Dio to use it to catch a taxi.
Dio throws him to the front of the car, and tells him to drive. The senator gets angry and says Dio must not know who he is. Dio says he wants to follow the small red truck, and tells the senator to drive until he catches up.
The senator starts to go on about who he is, but Dio kicks him in the face. Dio tells him that if he doesn't catch up with that truck, he'll kill him. The senator thinks Dio is insane, and threatens to have him executed for this.
He starts running, and heads across the road... but then suddenly trips and lands back in the car. Dio tells him to hurry up and start the car.
The senator runs across the road, and nearly gets run over. But when he turns around to avoid being hit, he falls back into his own car again. Dio tells him to hurry up... whilst he's still alive.
Elsewhere, Jotaro fixes up his injuries, having had a few ribs broken. He thinks he's lucky to be alive, and has no idea as to how he managed to survive Dio's attack. He wonders what Dio's Stand is, he's heard that the tarot card representing him is "The World". But back in the mansion, he couldn't see his Stand at all. But he did figure something out.
He uses his Stand to jump up onto a building, and looks at the mansion. He hates to admit it, but he's realized that Dio's Stand has the power and speed which match his Star Platinum. But there has to be something more, a secret beyond imagination. Dio is far more intimidating than any Stand users he's met in the past. It's no wonder that N'Doul and Vanilla Ice pledged their loyalty to him. He looks out at the city, and thinks that Dio is fit to be his opponent.
Dio tells the senator to hurry up and go. The senator asks him to look around, the traffic here is very bad, and isn't moving at all. Dio says there is space on the sidewalk. The senator thinks that's a ridiculous idea, as what about his reputation -there's lots of people there! Dio says it doesn't matter, and tells him to go.
The senator moves the car onto the sidewalk, and starts using the horn. Dio tells him to go faster, so he does. Dio tells him to go faster again. The senator increases speed, and starts running people over.
The senator asks Dio to stop making him do this. Dio says no.
Joseph says he can sense Dio, as the dark atmosphere he emits is closing in on them. He knows Dio is nearby, but he can't tell his exact location. But it will be the same for Dio -he won't be able to exactly sense where he is. If they fight Dio here, they'll involve a lot of innocent people. But they then see a disturbance up ahead.
A car smashes through some other cars and people, and they see that Dio is in it. The two cars pass each other, and the senator spins his around to chase after Joseph and Kakyoin.
They end up on a bridge, and the senator says he won't let the red truck get away. Dio tells him to get close, and then says this game is over. But he then sees Kakyoin's Stand next to the car.
Hierophant Green uses the emerald splash, but Dio deflects it with just one finger. Hierophant Green tries again, this time from above.
The car gets smashed up, but Kakyoin and Joseph see that Dio hasn't been grazed by it at all. Kakyoin says he'll try again, but Joseph tells him not to get too close. Joseph then sees that a level crossing up ahead, and a train is approaching. He tells Kakyoin that they'll withdraw for now, and try to lose Dio.
Kakyoin tries to have Hierophant Green attack again, but then The World suddenly appears behind his Stand. The World punches Hierophant Green, sending him bouncing off a few cars.
As Kakyoin takes damage, Joseph continues to drive. He smashes through the level crossing, and avoids being hit by the train.
Dio's car smashes into the train, and explodes. But seconds later, the train suddenly gets smashed apart, and Dio walks through the explosion holding the senator.
Joseph thinks they've now brought themselves some time to work on their strategy. Kakyoin says he lost control of himself, but he did figure out a few things. He says the World is similar to Jotaro's Star Platinum. It doesn't seem to possess any projectile weapons, and it can't reach out too far. That's something that should work to their advantage. They still don't know what the Stand's secret is, as it just suddenly appeared. Kakyoin wonders if perhaps it has the power to teleport.
Joseph tells him it isn't like to to make hasty conclusions -it could cost him his life. They can never be too cautious when dealing with Dio. He then sees an object moving towards them in the mirror. It's the senator, who smashes through the back window.
Joseph loses control of the truck, and it crashes into a building. Dio comes over and looks inside the wreckage, but there's no sign of Joseph or Kakyoin. He does find what's left of the senator.
He then sees Joseph and Kakyoin jumping way over a few buildings. Joseph asks how Dio can involve the innocent people of this city. Kakyoin then says he has a plan to reveal the true nature of Dio's Stand. Dio sees Joseph, and starts following him.
Joseph uses his Stand to move from building to building, as Dio continues to chase after him. He smashes through a building, and thinks what Joseph is doing is useless. He doesn't see Kakyoin around, and thinks they're going to try and attack him from two sides. He lands on a building, but as soon as he does, several projectiles are fired at him from Hierophant Green.
As Dio jumps away, he hits some of Hierophant Green's tentacles. This results in more projectiles being fired at him, and he realizes this is Hierophant's barrier. He jumps off the building, but hits more tentacles as he leaps up.
More projectiles are fired at him, and he lands on another building. He sees Kakyoin nearby, who asks him how he finds his barrier.
He says that Hierophant's barrier is made to shoot when it is touched, and surrounds Dio in a 20 meter radius. He can detect the movement of both him and The World. Joseph thinks they've got Dio now, and tells him to show the secret of the World. Dio laughs and asks Kakyoin if his first name is Noriaki. He asks him how old he is, and Kakyoin doesn't understand what he's going on about. Dio tells him he's trying to say that he shouldn't hasten his death.
Kakyoin tells him he doesn't seem to understand the position he's in, as no matter what power The World has, he can't move an inch from where he is. Dio wonders about that, and asks Kakyoin if he's frightened, just like a year ago. Kakyoin says it is true that when he met him that time, he gave into nauseating fear. But that's not the case now!
Dio calls him an excellent Stand user, and thinks him sacrificing himself for Joseph is a worthless thing to do. Kakyoin says the reason he's been fighting is not only for Jotaro and Joseph, but to regain the honor from the indignity he suffered from him, he's been fighting for himself. Dio tells him it's not too late to pledge eternal loyalty to him. Kakyoin says here's his answer, and tells Dio to take this. He has Hierophant Green use the emerald splash again.
Dio calls him a fool, and kicks the projectile away. They smash into some buildings, as Dio says the the power of the World is truly the power to rule this world!
"The World!"
Time completely stops for everyone other than Dio and his Stand. Dio moves forward, and says this is the World. As he breaks the barrier, he says that in the stillness of time, Kakyoin won't be able to see or feel anything at all. He tells Kakyoin to die, and has the World move out.
The World punches straight through Kakyoin. Dio tells him he won't even know that he's dead yet, and there will be no way for him to tell what happened. He tells Joseph he's next, and time then suddenly resumes. Joseph doesn't understand what's happened, and sees Kakyoin fly by him, smashing through some buildings.
Kakyoin crashes into a water tank. Dio lands next to Joseph and tells him he's the last one.
Kakyoin is barely alive, and doesn't know what happened. He can't even move, and then hears a clock start chiming. He realizes it's 7 o'clock, so in Japan it must be midnight. He tells his father and mother that he's sorry, as it seems his life is running out. His life has been short, but thanks to Jotaro and everyone else, he can die knowing he hadn't given into the fear of Dio. He was no match for his power, but he lived the life he wished, and has no regrets.
He thinks about Dio's Stand, and how his perfect barrier was broken all at once. He was certain that he didn't miss any of Dio's movements, so how was his barrier shattered all at once, without any time lag? He hears the clock chime again, and thinks about the lack of time lag. He looks at the clock and realizes it must be this, it's the only thing he can think of -time!
He thinks Dio must be able to stop time! He wants to warn Joseph somehow. Nearby, Dio approaches Joseph, and says that to heal this scar, he needs his blood -it'll be the best fit.
He says he'll be killing him when he sucks his blood. Joseph tells him he'll cut him in two before that happens. Dio thinks that bloodline of his, which speaks too boldly, is now coming to an end. He charges forwards, but then stops when he and Joseph see an explosion at the clock tower.
The clock has been destroyed, due to an attack by Hierophant Green. Kakyoin says this is his final attack.
Dio thinks Kakyoin shot in such a random direction, it must have been a cry of his final moments. Joseph thinks Kakyoin wouldn't do anything meaningless at a time like this, and wonders why he just shot at that clock tower. Kakyoin thinks this was a message, and hopes Joseph can figure it out. But he then dies from his injuries.
Joseph realizes what has happened to Kakyoin, and sends out Hermit Purple. It wraps around Dio, and Joseph charges ripple energy through it, which explodes around Dio.
Dio calls Joseph's Stand the most worthless one, and breaks free from it. He goes to attack Joseph, but Joseph leaps out of the way just in time. He jumps down from a building, and thinks about what Kakyoin just did -there must be some meaning to it!
As Dio chases after him, Joseph heads towards the destroyed clock face. He thinks that the clock has been destroyed, so the clock has been stopped. As he lands on the clock, he realizes what Kakyoin was trying to tell him: the World can stop time!
He lands on a building, but the World suddenly smashes through the roof. The World is about to hit him, but then stops.
Dio appears, and tells Joseph he's quite the schemer. Joseph tells him it was quite cautious of him to see through the ripple energy. He pulls down part of his shirt, revealing that he had Hermit Purple wrapped around himself, and charged it with ripple energy. He says he knows one thing: for Dio to come after them like this, it must mean that the length of time he can stop is very limited. Dio tells him he's figured it out, and compliments him on that. Joseph says it was Kakyoin who figured it out, and he's not going to let him die in vain.
Dio tells him that whilst Kakyoin figured it out, what can he do about it. His ripple energy means nothing to him. He sends the World out, but it attacks the roof, causing bits of debris to fly everywhere and knock Joseph down onto the street below.
As Joseph gets up, he sees Jotaro pull up on a bike. He tells Jotaro to stay back. As Dio jumps down, he sees Jotaro. He'd suspected Jotaro was still alive, but at the moment, he's out of his range. So he'll deal with Joseph first.
Joseph tells Jotaro that the true nature of the World is time, it's a Stand that can stop time! Dio then stops time, and lands on the street. He runs forward, and says that at first, his power was only able to stop time for the blink of a second. But as the scar on his neck faded, his ability to stop time improved. Now, he can stop time for at least 5 seconds. He knocks down anyone who gets in the way, and says that soon, he'll be able to stop time for as long as he wishes.
He picks up several knives, and then stops in front of Joseph. He tells him that projecting himself with ripple energy won't do him any good now. 100 years a go, ripple energy was a bit of a problem for him, but in the presence of the World, it's useless, useless, useless, useless!
He throws a knife, which stops just before Joseph's throat. He tells him that he has now died, and then lets time resume. The knife strikes Joseph, sending blood everywhere.
Joseph falls, and tells Jotaro not to go near Dio and to keep his distance. But he then stops moving.
Dio tells Jotaro that Kakyoin is dead too. He says Jotaro is the last one, but Jotaro starts walking towards him. Dio is surprised he's approaching him, is he ignoring his grandfather's last words? Jotaro says if he doesn't get closer, he can't beat the crap out of him!
