Synopsis

Jotaro's group arrive outside Dio's mansion. They think it looks deserted, but head inside anyway. In Japan, Suzie Q visits her daughter, Holy. The doctor says she's in a coma and won't respond, but surprisingly Holy does speak, calling out for Jotaro and her father. Back in the mansion, the group arrive at what appears to be Dio's coffin. Avdol has his Stand hit it with a blast of fire.

The lid to the coffin blows off, but when the smoke clears, everyone sees that Avdol is somehow in the coffin. Dio appears, and before Avdol can reveal the secret of Dio's Stand, he is suddenly torn apart by an unseen force.

The force was from Cream, the Stand of Dio's right-hand man, Vanilla Ice. After explaining how loyal Vanilla Ice is to him, Dio tells the group he'll kill them. He wants Polnareff to rejoin him, thinking it would be a waste to kill such a skilled Stand user. Polnareff refuses, so Vanilla Ice destroys the floor he's standing on, and then goes after him. Polnareff narrowly avoids being destroyed by Vanilla Ice's Stand, but is unable to hit him back due to how fast he moves.

Jotaro attempts to fight Dio, but is unable to hit him. Using the power of his own Stand, Dio is able to make Jotaro miss with his punches, and eventually blasts him out of the building. Dio then tells Joseph that he wants his blood, as his blood is the closest to that of Jonathan Joestar's.

Polnareff is at Vanilla Ice's mercy, but is then saved when Iggy has his Stand smash into him, sending him flying into a wall. Polnareff thanks Iggy for avenging Avdol, but then realizes Vanilla Ice isn't dead. He tells Iggy to move, but his warning comes too late, and Iggy is split in half by Vanilla Ice's attack.

Polnareff has Silver Chariot strike Vanilla Ice before he can retreat into his Stand, and kills him by slicing his head in half. Polnareff realizes that Iggy is dead, and screams out his name.

Things are not looking good for Joseph, as all he can do is stand in the sunlight, but the sun is going down. However, Kakyoin then appears, and has his Stand blow apart the wall with an emerald splash blast. He saves Joseph and the two get back to the truck. As they drive away from the mansion, Dio watches them go.

Manga Differences

-Between the start of this episode and the end of the last one, the manga has a couple of stories which the OVAs didn't adapt. Hol Horse returns with a new ally called Boingo, and then Iggy has an encounter with a Stand using bird called Pet Shop.

-In the manga, Iggy finds the location of Dio's mansion, and leads the rest of the group to it after defeating Pet Shop. In the OVAs, D'Arby tells the group where it is at the end of the previous episode.

-Kakyoin meets up with the group before they go into the mansion in the manga. In the episode, he shows up much later on.

-This episode's opening scene doesn't happen in the manga.

-The scene with Suzie Q is much shorter in the episode than it is in the manga. In the manga, it happens after Vanilla Ice is killed, and there are additional parts showing Suzie Q making her way to Holy's home (the episode didn't adapt this).

-When the group enter the mansion in the manga, they are greeted by Telence T. D'Arby -Daniel J. D'Arby's younger brother. D'arby takes Jotaro, Joseph and Kakyoin away, where they challenge him in a video game battle. This story wasn't adapted for the OVAs.

-In the manga, after D'Arby is defeated, there is a scene where Vanilla Ice meets Dio. Dio says he will full heal if he has the blood of one more, so Vanilla Ice instantly cuts of his head. Dio is pleased, and revives Vanilla Ice as a vampire. Part of this scene is in the episode, but some of the dialogue was altered, and Vanilla Ice decapitates himself in front of Jotaro's group, who aren't there in the manga.

-Another big difference is that Vanilla Ice does not become a vampire in the episode. In the manga he does.

-In the manga, Polnareff, Avdol and Iggy enter the mansion, having been told by Joseph to burn it down after a certain amount of time has passed. When they enter, they come across another Stand user called Kenny G, whom Iggy easily defeats. This part of the story wasn't adapted for the OVAs.

-The way Avdol dies is slightly different between versions. In the manga, just after Kenny G is defeated, Avdol sees Vanilla Ice about to attack from behind. He saves Polnareff and Iggy just in time, sacrificing himself. In the episode, Avdol ends up in Dio's coffin, and only saves Polnareff.

-In the manga, there is another character who ends up in the coffin: Nukesaku. This character isn't in the OVAs, but he was the one in the manga who leads the group to where Dio's coffin in.

-The part with Jotaro getting moved down the stairs does happen in the manga, but it happens to Polnareff instead of Jotaro. In the manga, this happens just after Polnareff defeats Vanilla Ice.

-The fight against Vanilla Ice plays out very differently in the manga. Iggy is always with Polnareff during the fight, and the fight takes places indoors. In the episode, it ends up outside in a fountain at one point (this doesn't happen at all in the manga).

-In the manga, part of the fight involves Iggy creating a clone of Dio out of sand, which Vanilla Ice ends up destroying. Angered that he had to strike even a clone of Dio, Vanilla Ice goes berserk, brutally kicking Iggy over and over again. This doesn't happen in the episode.

-However Iggy's death in the episode is more more violent, as he gets torn in half. In the manga, he eventually dies from his injuries after being kicked repeatedly.

-In the manga, the sand from the Dio clone is used by Polnareff like a sonar, letting him find where Vanilla Ice is. In the episode, water from the fountain is used for the same thing.

-The fight goes on for longer in the manga. There are some parts the episode didn't adapt, such as Polnareff stabbing Vanilla Ice in the mouth, but he doesn't die and instead rips apart part of Polnareff's hand. Vanilla Ice then starts moving around the room in a circular motion, gradually moving in towards where Polnareff is. Polnareff is saved by Iggy, buy Iggy dies moments later.

-In the episode, Polnareff kills Vanilla Ice by slicing his head in two. In the manga, this doesn't happen. Polnareff stabs Vanilla Ice in the head and thinks he's killed him, only for Vanilla Ice to get back up. Polnareff eventually realizes what Vanilla Ice has become, and kills him by getting him to enter sunlight. Vanilla Ice's entire body eventually crumbles away into nothing.

-The end of this episode plays out differently in the manga. Jotaro never gets hit out of the room, and Kakyoin is already with the others. When Nukesaku is killed, the group realize they're in danger, and flee.

-In the episode, the group already have a truck, as seen at the beginning. In the manga, after the group flee from Dio, Joseph buys a truck from a guy by giving him a lot of money.

Errors

-When Vanilla Ice dies, his head is cut diagonally, but seconds later, his head has been cut horizontally.
