A young Maxwell arrives at the orphanage. He sees that this is his home now, and he asks Father Anderson why he has been taken here -why did his parents abandon him to the church? Is it because he is a bastard? He then says he doesn't need his parents anyway, and he doesn't even need friends. He will become great, and when he does that, he'll have his revenge on all of those who've wronged him.

In the present, Maxwell is woken up by three others. They tell him that Anderson and the other paladins who are in England have captured Integra Hellsing. They've also fought against the last battalion. Maxwell sighs and says of course Anderson would go and do the latter, even after he told him not to engage the Nazis. He gets up and takes a look at the burning London. He is told that London has been humbled, and not since the blitz has their capital known such fear. The number of dead are beyond estimation, and as that tally increases, so do the ranks of the undead. Maxwell says it serves them right.

Maxwell then finds out that in America, the White House is burning. It seems a presidential aide turned into a vampire, during a cabinet meeting. 14 people were slaughtered, including the President himself. Their American Bishops await orders, but Maxwell says to have them strike only if the vampirism spreads, otherwise they won't get involved. The world's policemen can tend to their own house for a change. His only concerns are Britain, Hellsing and Alucard. The Vatican isn't even interested in the Major and his group, since they were bedfellows during the last war. However Maxwell isn't that forgiving, and intends to reclaim Britain for the glory of almighty God!

As Maxwell finishes his speech, his forces have arrived. There are 340 souls from the Order of the Sword of Courland.

From the Order of the Calatrava la Nueva, 188 souls. 257 souls from the Order of Santo Stephano di Toscana. And finally 2,457 souls from the Order of Malta.

Maxwell laughs, as everyone kneels before him. The leaders of the Orders say that the holy father has ordered them here, and has promoted Maxwell to the rank of Archbishop. They say that they have assembled as the knights of the 9th Crusade, and are his to command. One of them passes Maxwell a scarf.

Maxwell gladly accepts his promotion, saying he accepts it with all of his being. Their target is London, and they are to destroy it. A new era of Catholic might will now begin! The Knights of the 9th Crusade prepare to leave for London via helicopters. As the knights leave, Maxwell laughs, thinking of what's happened. To think that he, someone who was once called a demon spawn and spat on by society would be made an Archbishop, and given an army... he continues to laugh. But then a young boy arrives with a report.

Maxwell takes it and learns that the British aircraft carrier Eagle, reported to have taken heavy damage, is on the move. The ship is slowly making its way towards London at a speed of only a few knots, but it's definitely moving towards London. Maxwell can't quite believe it, but then everyone knows that Alucard must be causing this. However Maxwell says to let him come. Hellsing, Millennium, Alucard... they'll all perish.

He declares that their time as the tool of God's holy wrath has begun. As the helicopters all leave for London, the younger Iscariot member thinks that all of them are charging straight into Hell with a joyous heart. He thinks that all of them are going to die, and they'll thank God for the battle.

Out at sea, Alucard is still onboard the Eagle, which is still on its way to London. He says that aroma is so familiar to him... the aroma of men being impaled, of women being cut down, of babies burning to a crisp, of the old being lined up and shot. It's the smell of war. He tells the Major that he's coming for him.

Above the skies of London, the Major contacts Zorin Blitz and tells her to go and attack. Her zeppelin starts to head towards Hellsing headquarters at full speed. Meanwhile, Father Anderson cuts down the last Nazi who'd been sent after Integra.

He asks Heinkel how many of their own forces have been taken. She tells him they've lost around half of them, the Nazi's were fierce. She is about to have her forces burn the Nazi's bodies, when Integra starts to walk off. She points a gun at her and asks where she thinks she's going. Integra says she's going back to her mansion, as her forces are under attack. As their commanding officer, she needs to be there. She tells Heinkel to lower the gun. Heinkel says that isn't going to happen, as she's in Vatican custody now. Integra asks her to light her cigar. Heinkel points out she has a gun, but Integra asks her again to light her cigar.

Heinkel reluctantly does so. Integra says she's going home, and if the thought of it vexes them, go ahead and shoot. Heinkel doesn't know why she can't deal with her, she's just one woman. Yumie suggests they tie her up and take her away with them, but Heinkel wants to shoot her. Integra reminds them she can hear them. She asks Anderson what he wants to do.

Anderson thinks that teaming up against an unarmed woman to do God knows what to her... they're paladins, not rapists. Integra is glad they're of one mind, but thinks she really shouldn't walk home alone. She tells them to come on, and Anderson agrees to protect her. As everyone starts following Integra, Heinkel wonders how it came to this. Yumie thinks this is terrible, as Bishop Maxwell is going to be so angry. Heinkel says they have sort of taken Integra into custody... figuratively.

Anderson tells Heinkel to try and find them an automobile, as they're sitting ducks walking around like this. The other paladins ask Anderson if what he's done was wise, as his obedience will be called into doubt. He says it can be called into doubt, if they dare. Maxwell's methods just don't sit right with him.

Meanwhile, Zorin's zeppelin is nearing Hellsing headquarters. 24 V-1 rockets are fired from Millennium's flagship, but before they can reach their target, they are shot and destroyed.

Zorin is told the sniper fire is coming from the Hellsing compound. She realizes it must be Seras, and orders for the search lights to be turned on. The lights shine over the Hellsing headquarters, and reveal Seras.

Vernedead has been watching, and says her new equipment is nothing to scoff at. The Harkonnen II is a 30mm semi-automatic cannon, with a maximum range of 4 km. He tells mon cher that they're really pulling out all the stops.

Seras asks him to stop calling her that. Pip apologizes and asks Seras if she can see London. Piccadilly Circus, Soho and Covent Garden have all been turned to ashes. The London they knew is gone, and has been replaced with this Hell.

London always seemed like a stuffy town to him. But when the boys dragged him out to this cabaret, the beer was always cold and tasty, which was good as the bartender was an idiot who liked dirty jokes. The hookers he saw were some of the ugliest women he'd ever seen, but they were all nice to them. There there was the lady who owned the restaurant on Versailles Road, who always gave him fish and chips, even though he hated it. He found it too greasy but he didn't want to offend her, so he'd always eat it, somehow.

Whilst he doesn't like London, the people in it had nothing to do with this conflict, or whatever it is. But now they're all dead, feasting on each other. That's something he just can't abide, and says they he and Seras will avenge them together. Seras says this will be for those who've died tonight, and for London.

She starts firing on Zorin's zeppelin. The zeppelin immediately starts taking heavy damage, and the hull is breaching in multiple places.

Zorin orders to hold their course, and says to crash land them right into Seras herself. The zeppelin goes into a dive, heading right at Seras. Vernedead tells her to get out of there.

Seras changes ammo types, and switches to incendiary grenades. She fires them at the zeppelin, and they hit the target. The zeppelin goes out of control, and ends up crashing into a field some distance away from the mansion.

The Wild Geese welcome the Nazis to the UK, and then start celebrating. Seras tells them they aren't done. Vernedead tells them not to call it a night yet. Sure enough, many of Zorin's force have survived without a scratch on them, and start to get out of the wreckage. Vernedead reminds his men that they're not facing people, they're facing monsters. He tells Seras to fall back and reload, and then tells his men it's time for them to take the stage. These Nazis want it rough, and he's feeling generous.

Zorin finds out how many troops she has left, and whilst she's lost over half her fighting force along with all of their heavy artillery, her remaining soldiers say that their spirits have never been higher. They ask her for orders, so she tells them to go in and kill them all. The Nazis start running towards the mansion.

The Nazis charge, but as they run across a field, several of them get blown up by mines. The place has been setup by the Wild Geese, who've planted lots of mines in the fields. When the Nazis realize this, Vernedead orders for his men to detonate the claymores, which are full of blessed ball bearings. These go off and kill many of the enemy.

Seras realizes the Wild Geese booby trapped the yard. Vernedead says it serves the Nazis right for charging in. If their foes are going dirty by going vampire, the least they can do is try to even the odds. They aren't the greatest fighting force, and engaging the enemy in the open is such a messy affair. He tells his grenadiers on the third floor to open fire, and use a constant bombardment.

As the explosions keep the Nazis back, Vernedead then orders his rifle squads to start firing. His lieutenant comes in and tells him that the Nazis are no longer advancing, and are pinned down behind the hills. Vernedead says they'll come out eventually, but for now, this'll do. They are playing a very high stakes game, and if they let those Nazis get inside, it's over.

Whilst usually a human enemy would retreat, he knows these monsters won't. As the Nazis continue to stay behind cover, Zorin starts to use a strange technique. An eye appears in one of her hands.

She strikes the ground, creating some sort of energy. The Wild Geese stop firing, as they see the energy rise up and take form...

....becoming a massive version of Zorin. Pip goes to where Seras is to see what's happening. He then sees the massive Zorin looking into the mansion.

Zorin strikes the mansion with her scythe, breaking into it and slicing through several members of the Wild Geese. Zorin then strikes again.

Seras looks at Zorin, and thinks this can't be happening. She then hears Alucard's voice in her head, who tells her about her third eye. It's right in the middle of her forehead.

He tells her that her human eyes aren't to be trusted, as they'll only lie to her, plus she's no longer human -she has become so much more. Seras opens her eyes and sees that what Zorin is doing hasn't even happened, she's caused some kind of illusion. The mansion hasn't been hit and none of the Wild Geese have been hurt, although they still believe they have.

She tries to get them to snap out of it, but none of them respond to her. She instead picks up her gun and goes to one of the windows, and starts firing at where the real Zorin is.

One of the bullets grazes Zorin's face. When this happens, the giant Zorin turns to dust and vanishes. With the giant gone, the Wild Geese come to their senses. Seras tells them it was an illusion, and Vernedead asks if that giant whore really wasn't real. Seras says that's right.

Outside, Zorin congratulates Seras are figuring her out, but it doesn't matter. They'll still die screaming! As the Wild Geese have stopped firing, its given the Nazis time to move in. Some of them jump up and smash through the windows. They start attacking the Wild Geese.

Seras kills one Nazi by blowing his head off, and then does the same to the other one. Outside, the Nazis have placed lots of knives into the ground, and use them as stepping stones to avoid any remaining mines.

The Nazis approach the front of the mansion, and use rockets to blow up the front doors. Vernedead tells his men to all fall back to his position, and bring all of the grenades and explosives they can. He tells Seras they'll setup barricades here, whilst she is to go off and shoot down the Nazis as they make their way towards the barricade.

Vernedead says he almost forget one very important thing. He tells Seras to close her eyes, which she does. But she opens them when she realizes that Vernedead is trying to kiss her!

The rest of the Wild Geese think what they're captain just tried to do isn't fair. They want to kiss Seras too, but she tells them to bugger off. As the Wild Geese get a laugh out of this, Vernedead tells Seras not to die, and to come back to him -that's an order.

Seras says she will, and runs off down a corridor. As the Wild Geese watch her go, they says she's a hell of a girl. Vernedead agrees, saying she's way too good for the likes of them. If she dies tonight, they are no longer men. They'll just be cowards, meant to go to hell. But Seras isn't going to die under their watch.

Some of the men point out this is the part where their Captain is meant to say that anyone who wants to run can, or tell them he'll sacrifice himself so they could flee. Pip reminds everyone that they became mercenaries for the fun of it. As they all agree on this, they walk off and get ready. Vernedead says they're going to go out guns blazing.

Over London, the Major says this glorious war has only just begun.

Zorin says she'll make them pay for shooting her down -she'll paint the mansion with their blood. The Nazis enter the mansion, and start killing any of the Wild Geese they find.

As the Nazi's rampage continues, Seras walks into a room where some of the Wild Geese have met their end in a horrific manner. Seras swears one thing -they'll pay! Zorin tells her enemies to die already.
