Yusuke says they don't necessarily fight because they think they can win. Yakumo thinks he and the rest of his species are incomprehensible creatures. Outside, Kuwabara and the others notice something strange bursting out of the tower's walls, but Kurama tells him to hurry.

They arrive where the others are, and see Hinageshi and Botan. Yakumo declares he will create his own world, and is able to crush Yusuke with his power. Yusuke asks him why he is doing this in the human world. Yakumo tells him the humans invited him here. Long ago, his own world was beaten in battle with the spirit world, and was sealed in the darkness of outer space. He had been waiting for an opportunity, and collected the evil power of humans, who were sent into space by the spirit world. He gathered enough power to destroy the seal, and was able to control the power that the spirit world could not.

Hiei wakes up and asks what happened. Before anyone can answer, Yusuke goes to attack Yakumo. He moves in and hits Yakumo with a series of rapid punches.

Yakumo doesn't take any damage, and responds by throwing out a projectile blast. Yusuke avoids it, but is then nearly hit ny another attack, which breaks up part of the floor. Yakumo throws out yet another projectile, which pushes Yusuke back.

Yakumo then gets behind Yusuke, and hits him in the back. As Yusuke crashes to the floor, Kuwabara thinks Yakumo is just playing around, he's not even taking this fight seriously.

Yusuke gets up, and prepares to use his spirit gun. Yakumo tells him he shouldn't bother wasting his last remaining bit of spirit energy. He starts firing projectiles at Yusuke, and Yusuke zips around to avoid them all.

Yakumo sees Yusuke is fast, but he strikes the ground before Yusuke can fire. This causes most of the ground to break up, but Yakumo continues to attack Yusuke. Yusuke has to leap up...

...as Yakumo fires at him again. His blast hits the ceiling, causing debris to fall. As the smoke clears, Yusuke reveals to have gotten right next to Yakumo, and fires. The blasts causes a large explosion.

However Yusuke falls, whilst Yakumo hasn't been harmed. Yakumo says this is his world, and Yusuke cannot harm him. He says he'll end this now, and throws out another projectile. But before it can strike Yusuke, Kuwabara gets in the way of it.

He grapples with the projectile, and eventually manages to throw it into a pillar. He tells Yakumo that Yusuke isn't his only opponent -did he forget he's still here?

Yakumo walks up to him and asks him what he can do, when he doesn't have any spirit energy. He kicks Kuwabara over, as Yusuke gets up and says he's the one who's going to fight. He tells Kuwabara to rest here, as he'll finish Yakumo off. Yakumo is amused, and asks them if they know the meaning of fear.

He fires up his energy, which causes more of the ground to crack. Part of it then rises upwards, and Yakumo brings out the power sphere. He says that the time has now come to change the human world into the nether world.

Hiei can tell whatever is happening now is bad, as Yakumo tells them all he'll kill them by blowing them away with their world. Hinageshi tells him to return the power sphere to the nether world, and crashes through his energy barrier.

She latches on to him and tries to take the power sphere, but it burns her hand when she touches it. Kurama and Hiei then jump up.

Kurama wraps his rose whip around Yakumo's arm. As he swings over him, Hiei runs up and tries to strike Yakumo. But his sword breaks when it hits Yakumo's arm.

However, Hinageshi is able to get him to drop the power sphere, and they both fall to the ground. Yakumo blasts Hiei away, and then tosses Kurama aside.

The two crash into part of the room. Hiei wants to use his black dragon wave, but Kurama stops him, saying he'll die if he tries it. From up above, Yakumo fires at them again.

They get blasted further down. Hinageshi asks Yusuke what happened to the power sphere, but then passes out. Yusuke sees it and says whilst he has no more spirit energy, that sphere... he starts walking towards it. He tells Yakumo he's strong, and they may not be a match for him. But if does nothing, he could never forgive himself.

He places his hand on the sphere, but Yakumo thinks what he's doing is useless. Even King Enma couldn't handle the power sphere, and had to seal it away. Only he was able to handle it. Yusuke continues to hold the power sphere. Enma is surprised that he's able to control its power.

Kurama says that Yusuke is burning his soul into pure power. As Yusuke continues to struggle with the sphere, Kuwabara says he'll help him -he has too much spiritual power.

Kurama and Hiei jump up, and land next to them. They combine the power they have left, as Kurama tells Yusuke to do it. Yakumo thinks this can't be, does Yusuke really have the strength to change the power of the nether world into spirit energy?

As everyone concentrates their energy, Hinageshi says their powers have become one. Yusuke rises the power sphere up...

...and takes aim. Yakumo starts bombarding the group with energy blasts.

They don't do any damage, as Yusuke tells Yakumo to take this. Yakumo dodges the blast, but it circles around -taking the form of Kurama's rose whip.

Yakumo tries to avoid it, but has no choice but to try and repel it. The blast changes form to that of a black dragon wave, which pushes Yakumo back.

Yakumo gets pushed downwards, and is sent crashing through the building, before eventually being smashed into the floor. As this happens, the nether world energy at the elemental sites starts to fade away.

Believing Yakumo has been defeated, Yusuke says it's over. Kurama says they'd better find Hinageshi and Botan, and the group start to look. Yusuke notices Hinageshi's headband nearby, and walks up to it. As he does, a burst of energy suddenly erupts from the ground.

Yakumo has survived, and drags Yusuke down. He grabs onto him, but Yusuke manages to break free. The two briefly exchange blows.

Yakumo manages to grab Yusuke again, and starts to choke him. Yusuke distracts him by bringing out the power sphere. As Yakumo falls, Yusuke throws the sphere towards him.

He goes to grab it, just as Yusuke tells him this is his final blow: a spirit gun blast. Yakumo is almost touching the power sphere, but then the blasts rips through it, destroying it...

...and then also destroys Yakumo. This causes a large explosion, as the nether world energy at each of the elemental sites fades out completely. The power of the nether world vanishes, and things return to normal.

As Yusuke gets up, he sees Botan and runs over to her. He tells her to hold on, but then notices some kind of energy dropping down from the sky. He thinks it must be Koenma's doing. Nearby, Kurama and Hiei get back up.

Kuwabara pulls himself out of some rubble, whilst Kurama is able to find Hinageshi, who is also unharmed. She says that the spirit world must have been restored. Botan then wakes up, and says Yusuke's name.

As the group get back together, the sun starts to rise. Kurama says it's finally over, and Hiei says it is, somehow. Kuwabara asks if Yakumo really died, but Yusuke's not sure... he could be hiding among them. Kuwabara says that's not funny, but Yusuke assures him that if Yakumo is still out there, they'll give him another good beating!
