Synopsis

Emerging from a white light, Yusuke suddenly has long, white hair, and markings all over his body. His fight with Sensui resumes, but it's totally one-sided -he easily beats Sensui around like he's nothing. He the prepares his finisher, a final spirit gun shot, but as he fires it, Yusuke regains control of himself, and his hair changes color. But it's too late for him to stop himself from firing.

The blast hits Sensui, and smashes him into a forest. Yusuke follows him and demands he get up, as the others arrive. He explains to them that it was not him who fired that shot -or, it was him, but it wasn't him. By the time he realized what was happening, he'd already blasted Sensui. Itsuki then appears, and says to just let Shinobu die like this. He reveals that Shinobu only had about half a month left to live anyway, as he has a malignant illness that has decayed him on the inside -Doctor Kamiya confirmed this.

Sensui weakly says that it's true. He won't use it as an excuse for losing, as Yusuke was still several steps beyond his own greatest power. Yusuke says what he used wasn't his power, at the time, he wasn't aware of what was going on. Yusuke asks Koenma if there is anything he can do with his power. Koenma says that if he still had the spirit power he'd stored in the demon seal ring, he could save Sensui. But Shinobu blew all of that power away. He then reveals that a good portion of the demon seal ring's energy got consumed before he even reached Sensui. Back on Earth, Amanuma suddenly wakes up, and Genkai reveals Koenma saved him, using energy from his demon seal ring. Yusuke realizes that to save Amanuma, Koenma used some of his power. Sensui laughs, saying he had planned to get Koenma to use some of his power before they confronted each other, as his demon seal ring was the only thing that could have stopped him. Koenma asks why he wanted to come to the Demon Realm so badly, and he says that all he'd been through, he wanted to come to the home of the demons, and his true purpose was to die in the Demon Realm -and to be killed by a demon. With his last words, he tells Yusuke that for the first time, he enjoyed fighting, if just for a moment.

Itsuki takes Sensui's body, and says that Shinobu told him that when he died, he didn't want to go to the Spirit Realm. He tells them to go and find another opponent, and continue to fight, whilst he and Sensui spend some quiet time together. He then disappears, along with Sensui. Yusuke feels robbed, but Kuwabara asks him if he feels strange. Yusuke then finally realizes he has much longer hair, and markings all over his body. He tells them about the voice he heard in his head, and they believe it was his ancestor who took over him earlier. Yusuke wants to confront them now, but Koenma says the Special Defense Squad will be trying to seal up the hole. If they don't go back now, they won't be able to go back at all. Yusuke decides that they'll all go back home to the Human Realm.
