Synopsis
With Toguro defeated, Yusuke tells Sensui to release Kuwabara, but Sensui says he already has. The group see that, somehow, Kuwabara is now out of the boat, and on dry land. As they rush over to him, a strange creature appears under them, and swallows them all. However it spits Yusuke back out, leaving him to face Sensui. Sensui tells him he has no intention of exposing his friends to danger directly -he just wanted the two of them to be alone.
Kurama, Hiei, Kuwabara and Mitarai find themselves in subspace, where Itsuki appears. He reveals he is a demon, and is a Gatekeeper who possesses "shadow hands" that can freely travel through dimensions. He has also tamed the Uraotoko (Reverse Man) which swallowed them. He says he doesn't intend to fight them, and they will watch Yusuke's fight with Sensui. He also tells them that he met Sensui long ago, and was almost killed by him, but got him to spare his life when he said he wanted to live for one more day to watch the finale of a TV show, which Sensui also happened to watch. This even led to Sensui discovering not all demons were evil. Since then Itsuki watched and enjoyed seeing Sensui's reactions to the ugly parts of humanity. He says he was Sensui's shadow, watching over him as he changed, and he only ever helped him do what he wanted. He'd like to continue to do so. He has his Reverse Man open its eyes, allowing them all to see Sensui and Yusuke. Sensui tells Yusuke that he'll end up with a rotten heart someday, like he has. He then claims he no longer cares about the tunnel to Demon Realm, and thinks he did all of this just to get to fight Yusuke.
Yusuke rushes forward and manages to land a punch on Sensui's face, and asks him why he didn't just pick a fight with him from the start. Sensui tells him it must be nice being so simple, and tells Yusuke he may be stronger, faster and more resilient, but he still won't be able to win. Yusuke attacks again, but Sensui blocks his attacks with one arm, and then kicks him back.
Frustrated with what Sensui told him, Yusuke attacks again, but this time hits the ground, causing rocks and dust to go everywhere. He catches Sensui off guard, and lands several punches on him. Sensui crashes into a wall and falls into the water, but gets back out. His shirt has been destroyed, revealing that his body is covered with scars. However he says none of these scars were caused by an enemy, rather they are the scars he brought upon himself during his training. Yusuke thinks Sensui is well-built, as it felt like he was hitting a thick tire when he was punching him. Sensui says that now, the real fun begins.
-In the manga, Itsuki's Reverse Man places Kuwabara right behind Yusuke's group, whilst in the anime it puts him to the side of them.
-The scene with Genkai and Botan in this episode does not happen in the manga.
-The scene with Koenma isn't in the manga either.
-The manga does not show Sensui defeating some random demon during Itsuki's flashback.
-The manga also doesn't show how Sensui defeated Itsuki, but the anime does.
-In the manga, Itsuki mentions that he wanted to see Jun Togawa on TV. The anime changed it so she's not mentioned, and Itsuki says he wants to watch a TV drama instead.
-In the manga, during Yusuke's initial clash with Sensui, he punches his opponent in the face straight away. The anime changed it so Yusuke has to dodge a kick, then he lands his punch.
-During the part where Yusuke is doing lots of punches, the manga has Sensui counter with a few kicks, one of which cuts Yusuke's face. This isn't in the anime.
-In the manga, Sensui's attack isn't seen, and it sends Yusuke sliding across the ground. In the anime, it was changed to show it -he does two kicks, one of which Yusuke blocks, the other he doesn't. Yusuke gets sent flying into a wall.
-Sensui's last line is not in the manga.
