Having broken through Jin the wind-tamer's asura whirlwind fist technique, it appeared as though Yusuke had won a brilliant victory. However, thanks to some underhanded maneuvering by Butajiri and the tournament's head office, the decision came down that both contestants had gotten a ring out. The Urameshi team was about to be declared the loser. But, at that moment, Kuwabara, despite being wounded throughout his body, stood forward. The contest has been committed to Kuwabara.
A Desperate Kuwabara! The Charge of Love
Koto calls the two fighters to the ring. The crowd are all really angry with what's happened, as now both team are down to only one person each. They yell for Risho not to lose, and for him to send Kuwabara to hell. Kurama thinks this is crazy, as it looks like it is taking Kuwabara everything just to manage standing up.
Butajiri thinks he can relax, as it should be an easy victory. Koto watches as Kuwabara clutches at his gut, and asks him if something is wrong. He falls down, causing the spectators to laugh.
They think Koto should start the count now, whilst Risho thinks this is ridiculous. Upon hearing that remark, Kuwabara manages to quickly get himself back up. He thinks this is an important task for him, and he's lucky to be out here.
Risho tells him there must be something wrong with his head, if he wants to die this badly. Kuwabara tells him to try and kill him, if he can. Koto reminds them that the winner of this match will advance to the semifinals. Just before the fight starts, Sakyo and Toguro leave. Koto then starts the fight.
Kuwabara charges forward, and summons his spirit sword. But it fizzles out before he can try and attack with it, and Risho leaps over him anyway. Risho delivers a powerful kick to Kuwabara from behind.
Kuwabara doesn't understand what just happened to his spirit sword. Meanwhile, outside the stadium, Botan and the others suddenly have issues getting back in. A security guard won't let them through, because he says anybody that's gone out doesn't get to keep their seats any more. Botan produces some tickets, but the guard doesn't care. He only wants to let demons through, he thinks humans can't come in -unless they're really rich. He then senses that Yukina is a demon, but he can't tell what Botan is. She tells him to just leave it.
He then says that if the humans don't have any money, he could let them in if they'd be willing to give him some "service". As he puts his hand on Keiko's shoulder, she responds by slapping him so hard he gets sent flying back.
Shizuru then stomps on him, before asking him who the hell does he think he is? She kicks him out of the way.
Botan says they can do, but Yukina asks if this is really alright. Botan says it is, after all, what's wrong with it? As Shizuru continues to kick the guard, some more security is called over. The group run off into the stadium, but soon get cornered.
Risho continues to beat up Kuwabara easily. Koto comments that Kuwabara can't fight back, and tells him this is pretty pathetic for someone who came out here to look cool. Risho continues to attack.
Yusuke tells Kuwabara to show some tenacity, but Kurama says that's not possible. He's amazed that Kuwabara can just endure Risho's assault as it is. At the medical tent, Ruka says she can't maintain her periphery realm any longer, and sees that Hiei is brimming with energy. The masked fighter tells Hiei he must be planning on springing out of here the moment Kuwabara is beaten. He tells her if she's thinking of getting in his way, he'll show her no mercy either.
As Kuwabara gets up, he wonders why his spirit sword won't emerge. Risho says he'll tell him, but not after beating him up some more first. He then says that if Kuwabara was a normal human, he would have died from his severe injuries long a go. His body is now doing everything it can just to recover.
As such, there's no way he's in any condition to fight, as Risho demonstrates by attacking him again. Butajiri is watching, and says this'll teach Kuwabara to learn his place. Sakyo and Toguro then show up.
Butajiri tells them he's making sure his team remains until the finals, and Sakyo tells him he does anything it takes in order to win. He thinks that's quite the attitude to take, but finds Butajiri to be lacking in his aesthetics. Sakyo says the fights are entertaining when the strong smash the weak with all of their might. He finds Butajiri's methods unacceptable. Toguro walks forward and flicks Butajiri's head with his finger...
...causing his head to explode. Sakyo decides to let the rest of the match play out as it is, as if the Urameshi team can't win like this... Toguro says they wouldn't be worth fighting. Back at the fight, Koto is counting Kuwabara out...
...but he gets back up before she can reach 10. Risho attacks him again, and tells him he can't stand how resilient he is.
He decides to show him something, and leaps up. Koto comments that Risho has deliberately leapt out of the ring. Risho tells Kuwabara to watch carefully, as this is his ultimate technique.
He goes into a stance, and the ground around him rips itself apart. The dirt and rocks surround him like cyclones, then all come together to form around him.
SHURA NEN DO TOI
(Asura Conjured Earth Armor)
Now clad in armor, Risho leaps up and tells Kuwabara to take this. He uses a move he calls the bomber tackle, and he charges towards Kuwabara. He hits the ground in front of him, but this is enough to send him flying back.
Koto comments that Risho's bomber tackle has scored a hit on Kuwabara, but Risho has also crashed. However, Risho stands back up, and has not been hurt at all. She sees that Kuwabara is down, and begins her count. This has all been seen by Botan and the others, but all they can do is watch. They see that Kuwabara manages to get up.
But they can also see how badly hurt he is. Botan asks the guards if they can let them through, as they're with one of the people appearing in this match. The guards say no way, as they're in trouble for unlawful entry and assault. They want to conduct an investigation once this match is over, but Botan shoves a guard down and runs. The others follow her, but they come across Toguro.
Unsurprisingly, Yukina gets very fearful, but Toguro tells them all to go on. The guards have caught Shizuru, but they stop chasing the others after they see Toguro letting them pass. Sakyo then walks in, and asks what the matter is -the woman they're holding is an acquaintance of his. They release her and leave.
Sakyo tells Shizuru they meet again, and Shizuru says so it would seem. He lights her cigarette. Back in the ring, Kuwabara manages to stand back up yet again. Risho questions why he is getting up, but Kuwabara laughs. He tells him it's because he doesn't want to lose. This is for Kurama and Urameshi as well, who also fought desperately.
He says he can't allow their fighting to be for nothing. Jorge wonders where Kuwabara can be finding so much remaining power. Koenma says it's the same method that Yusuke used previously, when he fought Suzaku. Yusuke had used up all of his spiritual power, and as a last resort, he started burning his own life force. It's what Kuwabara is doing now, and it's the only means he has left.
Risho thinks Kuwabara is a fool, as if he had just stayed down, he would have at least had an easier death. Kuwabara says he isn't going to die, at least not alone. He plans to take Risho out with him, and thinks if this ends in a draw, there will be a play-off match, which Yusuke will surely win. He thinks about the others on his team... Hiei, who may have provoked him a lot, but he knows he's strong.
He thinks that Kurama was the one who got him this far, thanks to his special training. He thinks that this tournament is meant to be the first place where he met the masked fighter, but he has the feeling they knew each other before. And as for Urameshi...
...he turns around and tells him he leaves the rest to him. He tells him to watch closely the way he, Kuwabara the man, now dies! Risho leaps up and tells Kuwabara to brace himself, as he prepares to use the bomber tackle again.
Botan's group arrive in the stadium, just in time to see Kuwabara charging forward. But Risho lands another direct hit on him, right in the face.
Kuwabara gets pushed back, and he thinks that before he bites the dust, he wishes he'd been able to see Yukina one last time. He asks Yukina to forgive him, as he'd intended to watch over her for the rest of her life.
"Mr. Kazuma!"
Kuwabara realizes the voice he just heard was Yukina's, and he sees that she's in the stadium.
Risho asks him what the hell is he looking at?! But he then notices a sudden change in Kuwabara, who tells him to stay out of this!
With one punch, Kuwabara sends Risho away, as he slides across the ring and falls off it. Kuwabara is so happy that Yukina is here for him!
Yukina asks him if he's alright, and he tells her that he's completely fine. Yusuke wonders what the deal with Kuwabara's sudden change is. Koto says that apparently, Kuwabara's girlfriend has arrived in the stadium, which has put Kuwabara into some high spirits.
Risho drags himself out of a wall, and charges. Kuwabara tells Yukina that, just by looking at her, he feels all fired up!
Risho strengthens his armor and leaps up, but Kuwabara reveals he's got his spirit energy back. Risho uses the bomber tackle again...
...but Kuwabara summons his spirit sword, and hits Risho with it. The strike is so powerful that it completely shatters Risho's armor, and another hit sends him flying into some spectators.
Koto had started her count, so Kuwabara quickly gets back into the ring. She declares Kuwabara the winner, and says that the Urameshi team will advance to the semifinals. Risho thinks what just happened is impossible, but he then passes out. Ruka drops her peripheral realm, and collapses. Hiei is too surprised at Yukina being here to care.
Yusuke slaps Kuwabara on the back and tells him he did it, but Kuwabara yells at him -he's injured here! But he then says it's no good, as he's getting dizzy. He then also falls down. Elsewhere, Sakyo and Toguro have been watching, and Sakyo asks Toguro if he thinks they're worthy opponents. Toguro says they'll have to see.
Later on, Yukina sees to Kuwabara's wounds. He tells her it's all about talent, as he is the Urameshi team's key man, after all. She can't believe how quickly his wounds are closing up, and his temperature seems to be rising steadily. Kuwabara tells her that's the power of love! Yukina says she understands.
Kuwabara is really happy to here that, and thinks that with Yukina here, he's invulnerable. As he laughs, he doesn't know that Yukina is thinking she isn't sure what he means. Elsewhere, Yusuke asks Keiko why she hasn't shown her face around him until now. She says she figured it wouldn't be right for her to disturb him and become a distraction. Yusuke says that sounds really creepy from her, as she isn't that kind of girl. This leads to them getting into an argument.
Botan is watching, and says after a long time apart, the two have set each other off. Yusuke then says that after not seeing her for a while, he's just noticed how a certain part of her is filling out rather astoundingly. Keiko says that does it, and slaps Yusuke away.
Yusuke says Keiko's slaps are a force that's even stronger than Jin's punch. As Keiko walks off, she then stops and tells Yusuke she won't accept him losing.
Yusuke and the others narrowly beat the Devilish Trainer team. However, there are still many other powerful players left in the tournament. And so, what sort of team, using what kind of techniques, will they be facing next?
