Synopsis

At the battle arena, Keiko shouts at Yusuke, trying to wake him up, but he remains asleep. Rinku smashes Kuwabara into the ground a couple of times before raising him really high into the air, and then drops him. Kuwabara falls, but he summons a spirit sword and extends it so it hits the ground. He then uses it to catapult himself forward, right towards Rinku. Rinku thinks he has an easy win and send out his yo-yos, but Kuwabara reveals he can manipulate his spirit sword so it can bend. The two hit each other, and both end up out of the ring.

Rinku manages to climb back onto the ring, but Kuwabara gets distracted by Yusuke talking in his sleep, and then Rinku uses his remaining demon energy to tie Kuwabara up for a few seconds. Koto counts Kuwabara out, resulting in the Six Wandering Specters team winning the first match. The next match then starts, as Kurama faces Roto. Botan decides to try and help the team by waking Yusuke up, but even she can't do it.

Roto attacks Kurama, but can't land a single hit on him. Kurama is about to end it when Roto reveals that he has set an errand demon to track Kurama's human mother. He pulls out a device and says all he has to do is press a button, and his demon will kill her. Kurama has no choice but to cease fighting, and allows Roto to hit him several times.

However he suddenly flicks a pebble at Roto, which hits him in the face. Not wanting any more resistance, Roto tells Kurama to lick his boot, and after he's done that, he'll decapitate him. Kurama tells him to go ahead and push the button. Roto attempts to, only to find he can't move. Kurama explains that earlier, when he flicked the pebble, it was actually a distraction so Roto wouldn't noticed that he planted a seed in his chest. The seed's roots have now barely spread through Roto's entire body. Kurama takes the device, whilst Roto begs for mercy.

However he's shown none, as Kurama says the word that causes the seed to bloom: "die". Roto is killed, and the Urameshi team take the point. Hiei tells Kurama that the errand demon disappeared when Roto died. Whilst the Urameshi team have won the second match, the Six Wandering Specters team still has powerful foes to contend with.
