Synopsis
Kuwabara stabs his spirit sword straight into Byakko's mouth, but even this has no effect -Byakko is able to simply absorb all the energy again. However Kuwabara notices that Byakko has not grown in size this time, which gives him an idea. He summons up all of his remaining spirit energy and puts it all into one final attack, which Byakko yet again absorbs. But it turns out the amount of energy is too much for Byakko to handle, and he explodes, causing him to fall off the arena and plummet to his doom.
Botan contacts Yusuke and tells him things are getting worse in the city. She's hoped he's defeated three of the Four Saint Beasts by now, but he explains they're proving to be tough opponents. To make things worse, Byakko reveals that he didn't die in the fall, and has Yusuke's group enter his "room of hell" -an arena consisting of several platforms which are above a pit of acid. Despite his allies advising against it, Kuwabara says he will resume his fight with Byakko, and enters the arena. Byakko uses a secret technique called meiko shoukai ha (screaming tiger demolishing wave), which is capable of disintegrating anything it touches.
Byakko uses the attack to destroy the platforms between him and Kuwabara. Kuwabara cannot jump far enough to reach him and it looks like the fight is over. Byakko destroys the platform Kuwabara is on, just as Kuwabara jumps from it. He uses his extending spirit sword to pole vault over to Byakko, and punches him in the face.
Byakko falls into the acid but so does Kuwabara, much to Yusuke's horror. However it turns out Kuwabara didn't fall in, as his wrappings snagged on the platform Byakko had been standing on. Kuwabara demands to be helped up, as Yusuke jokes about hurrying on ahead.
-In the manga, Byakko does not explode and fall. He instead takes off like a rocket and acts like a balloon which has had all of its air let out.
-He also physically appears when he tells everyone to come to his hell room in the manga. The anime changed it so you can only hear his voice.
-Any scenes with Koenma and Jorge in this episode aren't in the manga.
-Botan's scene in this episode isn't in the manga either.
-The part of the episode where Byakko destroys the last platform before Kuwabara can jump on it isn't in the manga.
-In the manga, Hiei is the one who points out Kuwabara is alive. The anime changed it so Kuwabara instead calls out to the group.
-The group actually do help Kuwabara up in the manga, rather than just leave him hanging like they do in the anime.
-Byakko's eyes are colored white instead of yellow during this shot.
