Synopsis
Yusuke is out of spirit power, and can't hurt Rando. Rando creates demon thread, which he wraps around Yusuke and throws him around the marshland. Wanting to prolong his enjoyment, he leaves Yusuke dangling from a tree, whilst summoning a batch if Demon World fish. He breaks the tree branch Yusuke is tied to, and Yusuke is sent into the swamp. But before the fish can eat him, Kuwabara's soul leaves his body and hits Yusuke. Kuwabara berates Yusuke for being such a wimp, and he says once he's better, he'll fight Rando until he's defeated him.
This is enough to let Yusuke find some power within him, and he surprises Rando by blasting him with his spirit gun. Rando tries to counter with his own style of spirit gun technique, but Yusuke's is stronger. Rando is hit and takes a lot of damage, but he survives. He starts to punch and kick Yusuke, but his attacks aren't enough to kill him.
He decides to shrink him by using the same spell he used on Kuwabara, but this backfires. Genkai explains that the spell will only work if the victim hears it, and in this case, Yusuke didn't -his ears were clogged up with pond scum. Yusuke is able to finish Rando off before he can undo the spell, and he does so by elbow dropping him. The tournament is over and Genkai announces she will teach Yusuke her secrets, but all Yusuke wants to do is go to the Tokyo Dome to watch the world combat sports, as Botan had mentioned before. But Genkai tells him he's staying here -she is going to be training him the foundations of her spirit wave technique. Upon hearing this, Yusuke collapses again. Genkai says there's no helping him.
-Again, any scenes with Koenma in this episode were not in the manga.
-Rando explains what the demon thread is in the manga, whilst in the anime this dialogue was given to Genkai.
-The manga has Rando smash Yusuke into the ground a couple of times, whilst in the anime he also swings him through some trees.
-The scene the anime has with Botan asking Genkai to stop the fight isn't in the manga.
-The first shot Rando does with his spirit gun isn't seen destroying anything in the manga, in the anime it destroys a tree.
-Kuwabara's soul comes out of his chest in the manga, whilst in the anime, it comes out of his mouth.
-Rando is not seen using his spirit gun when he's waiting for Yusuke to come out of the swamp in the manga, but the anime shows him firing and missing.
-In the manga, Yusuke punches Rando when he gets behind him. This was changed entirely for the anime, and instead, the two trade spirit gun blasts, with Yusuke's winning out.
-Somehow Botan manages to tie Rando up with his own thread in the manga. In the anime, this was changed so she just holds him.
-Yusuke uses his spirit gun again in the episode, meaning he's used it twice in one day. He's already used it in his fight against Kibano, and before his fight with Kazemaru he told Botan he still couldn't use it. He gains a lot of spirit power thanks to Kuwabara ragging on him, clearly enough to give him another shot. He's getting better!
