Synopsis
The Autobots oversee a peace conference between the Lanarqans and the Xetaxxans, two races from separate planets which have been at war with each other for generations. The conference goes badly, with both sides more interested in destroying each other than making peace. Meanwhile, the Quintesson journal crashes into a planet. Signals emitting from it are picked up by both the Autobots and the Decepticons, but Blaster's group arrives first. They manage to get the journal to playback some Quintesson recordings, but they're then attacked by the Predacons. The Autobots manage to get into Sky Lynx, who then takes off and leaves.
However, they are captured by the Quintessons, who are after the journal. Outback easily outsmarts a Sharkticon guard, allowing him to get the journal back and then let the Autobots blast their way back out of the Quintesson ship. As they leave, they're attacked by the Decepticons, who are also after the journal. The Autobots end up losing the journal to them.
Back at the peace conference, no progress has been made. Both sides are secretly waiting for delivery of their ultimate weapons, which they plan to use against each other to end their war forever. They aren't aware that their weapons are being supplied by the Quintessons, who are profiting off their war. The Decepticons playback entries from the journal, including the one about the Lanarqan and Xetaxxan war. The Autobots see this and realize how they have to get the journal back to the peace conference. They attack the Decepticons, but during the battle, the Quintessons sneak in and take the journal.
The Quintessons attempt to escape through a warp gate, but are pursued by the Autobots, who take the journal back again. They immediately fly to where the peace conference is being held, and show the Lanarqans and Xetaxxans the entry stating that the Quintessons have been supplying weapons to both sides. The Quintessons then contact them and congratulate them on figuring this out. As a reward, they intend to destroy them all by using their ultimate weapons against them.
The Autobots quickly fly out and attack the Quintesson ship, causing it to go out of control and smash into an asteroid, where it explodes. The Lanarqans and Xetaxxans decide to end their war, stating they don't like each other, but they like pointless war even less. They agree that they will live on their own worlds. Rodimus guesses they won't be the best of friends, but at least the shooting is over. Magnus says they'd better lock the journal up on Cybertron, but thinks it's sad how the Xetaxxans and Lanarqans were at war with each other for centuries. Rodimus says the only winners were the Quintessons.
-The Secret Files segment for this episode is about Metroplex and Trypticon.
-In theory, this is the sequel to The Big Broadcast of 2006, but was unfortunately broadcast before it. I say "in theory" because the Quintesson journal is colored yellow here, and in the other episode, it's purple. One of the Quintessons thanks the Autobots for "retrieving this segment of our journal" which hints there are multiple segments to it.
-In the dialogue script, Melkorr is called "moderator", despite Rodimus calling him by his actual name. Melkorr is only present very briefly at the start of the episode, talking about the war between the two sides.
-When the Quintesson hologram is talking, a shot of Cyclonus and a couple of Sweeps is shown, which has nothing to do with what the Quintesson is talking about.
-Outback's legs don't reach the bottom of the frame during this shot.
-Cyclonus has no left foot during this shot.
-Both his feet are completely missing during this shot.
-A pink laser is seen during this shot, it should have been a yellow one.
-These two Lanarqans are missing their legs.
-The legs of this Lanarqan and this Xetaxxan go missing as they fight.
-The Autobot symbols on Sky Lynx's wings are missing when he smashes down a wall.
-Rodimus Prime's chest Autobot insignia is missing during this shot.
-During the episode's final shot, watch the Xetaxxans walking out of frame -one of them briefly vanishes and reappears as he walks, then vanishes before he leaves the frame. Another one also vanishes.
