Synopsis
Daniel keeps having nightmares involving being chased by a giant Galvatron. He wakes up, and Rodimus Prime tells him next time to try and think of a giant Rodimus fighting Galvatron. Later on, Rodimus, Ultra Magnus and Springer investigate an electromagnetic disturbance, only to find the Predacons. They start fighting, but are interrupted by several monsters, which become gigantic when shot at.
This is all part of a Quintesson plot. They've captured Daniel and are using a machine to turn his nightmares into reality, then using them to attack the Transformers. Springer and Razorclaw are captured by a dragon and taken to a castle, where they find and free a Princess. She tells them how to defeat the dragon, so they start searching for the lance she mentioned. Meanwhile, the other Transformers continue to be attacked by strange creatures, including a witch. A bucket of water appears out of nowhere, which Rodimus uses to defeat the witch. He realizes that someone is trying to help them.
The Quintessons up the power on their machine, causing Daniel to create more nightmarish scenarios for the Transformers. They see a Galvatron who grows in size, but a giant Rodimus then appears and defeats him. The real Rodimus realizes that they're somehow in Daniel's nightmare. Meanwhile, Springer and Razorclaw defeat the dragon, and the Princess shows them the way back to where the rest of the Transformers are. The Quintessons up the power again, placing Daniel in danger. The Princess keeps yelling to Daniel, telling him to stop this, and whilst Daniel says he can't, the Princess keeps asking him to.
Daniel suddenly wakes up. This causes the machine to malfunction and make Daniel's nightmares attack the Quintessons. The Autobots find where Daniel is and save him, just before the machine explodes, blowing the Quintessons away. Everything returns to normal, but Springer wonders where the Princess is. Rodimus explains she was never real, she was in Daniel's mind.
Razorclaw still wants to fight and orders the Predacons to transform into Predaking. But Headstrong's leg has been damaged, preventing him from being able to transform. The Predacons retreat, so the Autobots take Daniel home. Sometime later, Daniel wakes up, having had another nightmare. Rodimus is there, and Daniel tells him that this nightmare was the worst one of all. But he did what Rodimus has told him: he called on a giant Rodimus to fight the giant Galvatron, and the giant Rodimus won. Rodimus says he has controlled his dream, which will mean he won't have any more nightmares. That means no more giant Galvatrons, and no more snake monsters. Daniel asks how did he know about the snake monsters, to which Rodimus just smiles.
-This episode has two Secret Files segments -one for the Quintessons, and another for the Decepticons.
-This episode is the first to use several new music tracks, that will be featured heavily in future third season episodes. Lots of the tracks used in the first two seasons still get used though.
-This is one crazy episode. It's up to the viewer to decide if it actually happened, or if everything was a nightmare Daniel started having, right after he went back to sleep once Rodimus told him to think of him fighting the giant Galvatron. The only problem with this is that if it really was all just a nightmare, then at the end Rodimus really wouldn't have known about the snakes. If it did happen, it's just as wacky -somehow, the Quintessons are able to capture Daniel, and seem to have setup a base on Cybertron (if this episode actually takes place on Cybertron -even that's not too clear). And exactly how their machine works, and how it turns the nightmares into reality, is never explained.
-This episode also runs really short. A scene that must have been cut was Springer's plan to escape the cell and find the lance -Springer whispers his plan to Razorclaw, then the next time we see them, they're out of the cell and have the lance. This would explain why this episode is the only one to have two secret files segments.
-In the episode's dialogue script, Daniel is always listed as "Danny".
-Rodimus has a yellow colored hand during this shot.
-Tantrum is colored blue during this shot.
-Several times throughout the episode, Rodimus has red colored eyes instead of blue.
-The Quintesson's computer states "OVER LORD" instead of "OVER LOAD".
-During this shot, each Quintesson's death face are the only ones colored correctly, the others are white.
-The giant Galvatron's cannon is colored purple instead of orange during this shot.
-When the giant Galvatron throws part of a building at Rodimus, only the key frames are present, making it look like a slide show.
-The above error happens again when Springer and Razorclaw team up.
-When the Quintesson says the human brain defies them, his body is missing!
-The Quintesson face color error happens again during this shot.
