Synopsis

Defensor blasts Bruticus into pieces. Swindle survives, but he decides to sell off the parts of the rest of his team. Meanwhile, Megatron plans to build a cannon and have Bruticus fire it, to knock the Moon out of orbit and then control the tidal waves via a new device Soundwave has made. When Megatron finds out about Swindle's actions he's furious, and demands Swindle gets the Combaticons back together again. To make sure Swindle does this, a bomb is placed in his head, set to go off in 15 hours. Swindle heads out and manages to get back everything he'd sold, and the Combaticons are restored. However, when the team try to form Bruticus, they fail. It's revealed that Swindle couldn't find Brawl's personality component, he'd believed it wouldn't matter. Megatron warns him about the bomb, which is still due to go off. Swindle heads back out.

Roland and Martin, two high school slackers, are made to do a science project by their teacher, one they need to get a blue ribbon for, otherwise they'll fail his class. Elise Presser is assigned to help them, but they don't want her help. They then see the Protectobots save a couple of people, and get an idea on what to do: build their own robot. After finding some parts in a junkyard, they build their robot: Biotronic Operational Telecommunicator, or B.O.T. for short. B.O.T. is activated, but can't seem to do very much. Elise tries installing another part, not knowing that it's Brawl's personality component.

This causes B.O.T. to be come violent, as he starts trashing the school. The kids try contacting the Protectobots, but a group of Autobots -Ironhide, Bumblebee and Gears -are sent out instead. The Autobots find B.O.T., but he turns out to be more of a threat than they thought. B.O.T. eventually leaves the school and heads into another building. The Autobots and kids follow, but Swindle has seen them and finds B.O.T. first. He shoots him in the back to deactivate him, then takes Brawl's personality component back.

The kids look at a print out of B.O.T.'s brain responses, and use it to track where the missing component is. But they realize it's out somewhere in the ocean, so they can't go any further. Elise rewires B.O.T.'s speech synthesizer, allow them to listen in on a conversation the Decepticon's are having. They find out that the Decepticons intend to test the cannon on Autobot HQ, so they head back to the base and warn the Autobots. The Decepticons arrive at the base, but the Autobots are ready for them and a battle begins. During the fight, the kids use Teletraan I to send out B.O.T. to the cannon and reprogram it. Bruticus is ordered to fire it, but when he tries, the cannon fires itself and starts blasting Decepticons.

In reality it's B.O.T. who is firing the cannon. The kids get him to press the overload button, which results in the cannon exploding, taking B.O.T. along with it. Later on, Optimus Prime thanks the kids for their help, but Elise says they couldn't have done it without Teletraan I. Bumblebee says sorry about their robot, but as Elise suggests they build another one, Roland and Martin gag her and take her away, saying that that about wraps it up.

Notes

-This is the final episode of the second season. The Transformers: The Movie is the next stop, but you might also want to check out Scramble City. Scramble City is an original video animation that was initially only available in Japan, and was never officially dubbed into English. It takes place between the end of the second season and the movie.

-The Combaticons appear to have their own base, but this is the only time it's ever seen. This is also the second and last time the Protectobot base is seen.

Errors

-The title card appears to use a zero instead of the letter o. Another example of this kind of error happened with the title card for Auto-Bop.
-Elise's car is colored like Swindle during this shot.
-The computer lighting effect seen during this shot isn't aligned with the computer, instead it mostly appears on the wall.
-During the end battle, the wrong background seems to have been used for this shot -that wall is never seen at any other point.
