Synopsis
Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet are sent to Hybrid Technologies, to capture the company's new chairman of the board: Astoria Carlton-Ritz. Powerglide happens to be nearby and saves Astoria. They escape the Decepticons, and whilst Astoria thinks Powerglide is wonderful, Powerglide wants to know why the Decepticons were after her. Astoria doesn't know, but reveals that after her father died, his company was left to her. They go back to Sparkplug's garage, but the Autobots are unable to figure out why the Decepticons are after Astoria. Astoria reveals she doesn't get along with machines too well, causing a few accidents at the garage. Powerglide is then assigned to take Astoria back to the main Autobot HQ. They leave, but Astoria wants to get something to eat first. They go to a carnival, where they end up riding on a merry-go-round. Powerglide gets frustrated with her, but when he touches her necklace, she snaps at him. She explains that the necklace was something her father gave her before he died, and made her promise to never take it off. Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet then find them, and attack.
Powerglide and Astoria flee, but Ramjet hits Powerglide and causes him to crash in a desert. Astoria is taken by the Decepticons, who leave. Ratchet and Wheeljack find Powerglide, and take him back to base for repairs. At the base, Teletraan I then reports that a Sky Spy has detected unusual atmospheric disturbances over the North Atlantic. Believing it to be some kind of sky platform, Powerglide heads to it. On the platform, Megatron knows that Astoria's father gave her an energy formula before he died, which he now wants. The Decepticons try using a probe on Astoria, but it keeps malfunctioning, causing harm to Soundwave and Rumble instead.
An alarm then goes off, as the Decepticons see Powerglide approaching. The sky platform emits energy waves to stop him from getting to it, but Astoria throws her necklace at a tower the waves are coming from, causing it to explode. Several explosions badly damage the sky platform, causing the Decepticons to retreat and head back to their main base. Powerglide finds Astoria, but he tries to change the platform's flight path. He can't do it, but then realizes why: Astoria! Throwing her out, the platform's controls suddenly start working again. Powerglide sets the flight path and then he and Astoria leave.
The sky platform crashes into the sea, where it collides with the Decepticon base, damaging it. Later on, Astoria tells Powerglide about the necklace, although he doesn't think she makes any sense. He asks if the next time he's in town he could look her up. Astoria thinks that'd be wonderful, and thinks he's wonderful. She kisses him and then leaves, as Sparkplug says who would have believed it: Powerglide shot down by Cupid! As Ratchet and Ironhide snigger at Powerglide, he asks them who wants to be the first to get his circuits punched out. As he storms off into the garage, he stops, opens up a panel on his chest, and reveals a bunch of lights are flashing on and off, in the shape of a heart!
-Towards the end there's a rather unfortunate piece of animation where it looks like Powerglide shoves Astoria off the platform, when really, it was supposed to be a gust of wind that did it.
-When Ramjet asks Megatron to let them try to find Astoria again, his mouth doesn't move.
-Whilst the name of Astoria's company is Hybrid Technologies, Optimus Prime calls it just "High Tech" at one point, and Megatron does the same thing later.
-Ramjet's face is initially the correct color during this shot, but as he moves his arm his face changes to a light gray color. It changes back to the correct color as Dirge says "or else".
-When Powerglide reveals the parachute, a good chunk of Astoria's body is missing! The parachute also doesn't move with Powerglide's hand for several frames.
-Rumble appears to be colored like Bumblebee during this shot.
-When Sparkplug says Powerglide has been shot down by Cupid, his left hand is colored blue.
