Synopsis
During a Decepticon attack on the Autobot HQ, Megatron and Starscream use a invisibility spray to sneak inside the base and place a personality destabilizer into the computer of Autobot's recharging chambers. They get back outside before the spray's effects wear off, then Megatron calls for a retreat. Confused at what just happened, the Autobots use the recharging chambers, as their next mission is to go to the Harding Space Center to protect a new satellite that will supply unlimited energy to the entire world -something the Decepticons will want. But later on, the personality destabilizer effects almost all of the Autobots, causing them to turn bad. Optimus Prime smashes up Teletraan I, then he and the Autobots head off to the space center and start destroying it. Jazz, Bumblebee, Sparkplug and Spike arrive back at the base, having been installing new speakers for Jazz. As Jazz tests the speakers out, Bumblebee heads into the base alone.
He is attacked by Bluestreak, who tries to get him into one of the recharging chambers. Jazz saves him and takes Bluestreak out, whilst Sparkplug repairs Teletraan I. They learn of what Megatron has done to the Autobots. Meanwhile, Hound and Ratchet are sent to capture Doctor Harding, who has the plans for the satellite. She manages to escape, but the Autobots go after her. The Decepticons go to the space center and reprogram the rocket carrying the satellite to take them to Cybertron, as Megatron says they can return home and also get the satellite.
Back at the Autobot HQ, Sparkplug designs a attitude exchanger, which can change the evil Autobots back to normal. Bluestreak gets up and starts firing, but Sparkplug plants an exchanger on him, turning him back to his usual self. Bluestreak tells them about what Ratchet and Hound are doing, so Sparkplug makes some more exchangers. The good Autobots find Hound and Ratchet, and are able to use the exchangers on them. Bumblebee goes to the space center and tries to convince Optimus to stop this, but he won't listen. Sparkplug's group then arrive, having changed Skyfire back so he could give them a lift. They turn some of the other Autobots back to good, but Optimus evades the exchanger shot at him.
Bumblebee takes the last exchanger and manages to plant it on Optimus, changing him back to normal. The rocket is about to blast off, so the Decepticons board it. Optimus and Ratchet manage to leap onto it and try to take the satellite, as Megatron and Soundwave fire at them. Getting a lift from Skyfire, Jazz uses his new speakers to rupture the rocket's fuel tanks. The Decepticons abandon it and fly away.
Optimus has Skyfire take them up into space, where he takes the satellite and throws it into orbit. The Autobots then return to their base, where Optimus thanks everyone, especially Bumblebee. Ratchet and Sparkplug start arguing over who contributed more in saving the day, but Jazz reminds them of the Air Force jets that got trashed, that they need to fix! Spike says that's all they'll be doing for the next few weeks.
