Synopsis

Brawn's group are surrounded, but are saved when Skyfire, Wheeljack and Trailbreaker break into the Decepticon base. They have to leave Sparkplug behind and flee, managing to get back to Wheeljack's workshop. Bumblebee reveals a disc he took, which has the plans for the hypno-chips on them. Wheeljack gets to work on making a device to counter the chip's effects. Meanwhile, the Autobots on Earth attempt to stop the Decepticons from gaining energy from a tidal wave, but are too late -Megatron had the energy transferred directly into energon cubes inside his starship, which then takes off and leaves the area.

Wheeljack finishes his device, so the Autobots on Cybertron head back to the Decepticon's base. They find Sparkplug and free him from the hypno-chip's influence, then manage to leave the base and head back to Earth via Skyfire. On Earth, Megatron is having more slaves load energon cubes onto his ship, but finds Starscream trying to use Arkeville's brain to fill an energon cube, which doesn't work. Megatron believes this is mutiny and is about to destroy Starscream, but then finds that the slaves have somehow malfunctioned are are now removing the energon cubes. Starscream takes Arkeville and leaves.

The Autobots arrive and a battle begins, but Megatron points out a giant tidal wave approaching them. He gets into his ship and blasts off, heading to Cybertron with enough energon to rule forever. Realizing they need to knock Cybertron out of its orbit to stop the wave, the Autobots fire at Megatron's ship. They hit it, which causes all of the energon cubes to detonate and cause a gigantic explosion. Cybertron is moved away from the Earth, stopping the wave. Spike tells Optimus this wasn't a bad day's work -they've gotten Sparkplug back, Cybertron is gone, the Earth is safe and Megatron is finished. Prime tells him that he wishes the latter part was true.
