Synopsis

Whilst on their way to Dorai's dojo, Ken makes a stop at a large shopping mall, to get Chun Li a gift for putting up with him and Ryu. Ryu quickly gets bored and happens to see an old man, Yo Senkai, struggling to breathe. Ryu suggests he gets help, but Yo asks him to take him somewhere private. Ryu takes him outside, and Yo uses a technique where blue flames appear on his body. He then creates a blue ball of energy, which he consumes, healing himself. Ryu asks about the technique, and Yo decides to show Ryu as a way of thanks. Ryu goes back with Yo, who owns a tea shop. Yo explains to Ryu about ki, the life force of the universe.

Yo uses a technique to blow out a candle. Ryu also tries it, but nothing happens. Ryu decides to leave, so Yo gives him a tapestry featuring an image of Daruma on it, a man who reached enlightenment and wrote the two great sutras known as ekikin and senzui. Ryu goes to Dorai's dojo. Chun Li is in a fight against Lo Yang, who she defeats. But Dorai calls her careless, as the throw she did had her kick Lo Yang in the groin without her even realizing it!

Later on, Ryu explains where he was earlier. Dorai knows of Yo Senkai and is surprised that Yo showed Ryu his technique, and he is usually very modest and private about such things. He believes that Yo must have thought Ryu was most worthy of training and personal tutelage. Dorai's pager then bleeps. Dorai says a vice squad captain's work is never done, especially in a city as big at this one. He excuses himself and leaves. As he goes, Chun Li says she has a bad feeling about this.
