1) Synopsis

Synopsis

A giant Huitzil is created, which intends to exterminate all life on Earth. Pyron starts to find and defeat various Darkstalkers, and eventually confronts Demitri. The two fight, and whilst Demitri manages to stab into Pyron's chest, he just laughs it off.

He defeats Demitri and sends him crashing into his own castle, causing it to fall. Some Huitzil then arrive, and Pyron berates them for halting the evolution of this planet. He believes that as long as they exist, a true and proper ruler for this world can never be born. The Huitzil say that whenever the ideas of battle and war become prevalent, all life must be exterminated. The will to fight is not a prerogative of life, and this Earth has no need for a destroyer. The Huitzil start attacking Pyron, but he destroys them all. In the Demon World, a meeting is taking place, one which Morrigan is present for. They've seen Demitri's defeat, and worry that Pyron will eventually come to the Demon World. The Aensland family ask the other noble families to cooperate with them to deal with this new threat, but the other families decline. Instead, Morrigan heads to the Human World by herself.

Back on Earth, some scientists arrive at the city, and start destroying the place, believing the only cure to the dark found here is to burn it away. Donovan blocks their shots, as the lead scientist finds out he is half dark, half human. He questions what the purpose of his life is, believing that the humans would never accept him and he would have to kill all the dark, then all the humans. Morrigan arrives on Earth and finds Demitri, who is still alive. He sucks her blood for a few seconds, and he tells her she must sense that he is her future. Morrigan thinks he may be right, as the dark is stagnant, and only change can save them. They look out at a coliseum, and Morrigan says these humans have a will to fight without even a trace of pretense. At the coliseum, Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling battle Pyron.

They're unable to hurt him, and Hsien-Ko gets blown away by one of Pyron's attacks. They then see Anita walk out, who screams Donovan's name. Donovan attacks Pyron, but he fares little better, and is quickly defeated by him. The giant Huitzil then appears, and states he will exterminate everything, and return the status to zero. Pyron says that these lifeforms will produce a ruler, eventually. But he cannot understand how they can continue with so few evolutionary advances. He now finds the Earth boring. Huitzil says that of all the life forms to be exterminated on this planet, the one who must be disposed of first is Pyron.

Pyron leaps up, and the suns gather around him, destroying the scientists as they move. The suns cause Pyron to grow in size, and he fights with the giant Huitzil. Huitzil takes Pyron into space in an attempt to make him depart from the planet, but Pyron breaks free and badly damages him, leaving only a small portion of his body left. Back on Earth, Hsien-Ko, Mei-Ling and Anita gather around Donovan.

Donovan thinks back to a time where he was meditating whilst sitting on some spears. The elder asked him why he was doing this, and Donovan questioned why they must hide themselves in the shadow of man, as if they're unclean? Donovan asks what he should do with his anger. The elder tells him that his impulse to kill humans gives him grave doubts, which is the course of his self torture. He tells him that his will and doubt is the sign of a human heart. The elder then cast off the beads he was wearing, which smash the spears and surround Donovan. The elder tells him his heart, and the feelings he has, are something he should come to love. Could he not come to peace with his own heart? Back in the present, Demitri says he will go forth once more, to take his proper place as ruler of the Demon World. Morrigan asks Demitri to let the humans fight this battle, as she can sense a will that must not lose. In the coliseum, Anita tells Donovan not to go. She screams out the same thing again, as she suddenly makes his blood glow. Something then happens, as Anita says that even if is is dark, it's Donovan's blood. It's not even a little dirty, his blood isn't dirty and neither is his soul!

Her power revives Donovan, who says that to hate yourself or to feel love... thoroughly, and with true humility... then, and only then, can one love others as well. He summons his sword, and uses it to fly into space, where Pyron is waiting. Pyron wonders why he, the ruler of the universe, must be bothered by this pathetic planet. Why did he do such a foolish thing? Donovan appears, riding on his sword. He says that foolishness comes from within yourself. And the only true battle is with yourself. To search for justification within others is the act of a fool. Whilst his own soul is often in doubt, it holds his salvation. The first and only enemy is the one from within! He summons a giant spirit, which surrounds him. He then blasts through Pyron, destroying him.

Donovan watches the explosion die out and says that the path he follows may lead him into the labyrinth of the dark. But he does not fear it, and the Earth gives him his strength, and the sun comforts him with its warm embrace. He has learnt to love his own heart, as how can he do otherwise. And with that comes love for Anita. On Earth, Anita smiles. Donovan says that, graced by the tender warmth of her smile, he will go on and search for a truth uniquely his. Having seen everything, the Huitzil in space decides for their orders to destroy all life forms to be withdrawn until further notice. Additional data is needed before the program can resume, such as more information on Earth's evolutionary status. The extinction of all targets has been stopped, pending further assessment...
