Sheeva and some Shokan warriors enter Earthrealm. The Defenders of the Realm fight them, but during the battle, Sonya runs off to try and take down Sheeva, despite Stryker warning her not to. Stryker has to save her from getting blasted by Sheeva, and he ends up taking the hit. Injured, he suspends Sonya from the team and she has to take him back to their base in a dragon jet. Nightwolf says that Stryker will be ok, but will be out of action for a while.

Rayden tells Nightwolf they'll have to go back to help the rest of the team, as more Shokan forces have arrived. Sonya wants to go with them, but is told to stay behind. She and Stryker monitor the team, but Sonya knows she can't go and help. Stryker asks why she can't be a team player. Sonya tells him about what happened with her former partner, who was killed by Kano. Everything changed after that, and she's become sick of the constant fighting. Stryker says he's as sick of it as anyone, but they have to defend the Earthrealm at all costs. They then discover that some Shokan, led by Zenkara, have managed to enter the base.

At the volcano, Sheeva's forces retreat when Rayden makes the volcano erupt. They retreat back through the portal, which Rayden then seals up. Back at the base, Stryker helps Sonya split up the Shokan forces, but Zenkara leads several soldiers to the command center. Sonya makes it back there and defeats Zenkara, just as Rayden arrives, followed by the rest of the team. Rayden has the defeated Shokan sent through another portal.

Later, Stryker tells Sonya that she is no longer suspended, having proven herself to be a team player. He notices Sonya doesn't look too happy about his decision, he thought she'd be thrilled. Sonya says she is on one level, but on the other, it might have been nice to run away from the endless fighting.

-When Liu uses his flying kick on Sheeva, Sheeva is drawn much smaller than she should be.
-Sonya has to tell Stryker about what happened to her partner, despite Stryker being there when she told the same story in the previous episode.
