At the Destron base, the Destrons watch footage they've somehow obtained of Lightfoot. How could a second Godmaster possibly fall into Cybertron hands?! Mega blames Hydra and Buster for being feeble, and does not want to hear their excuses. The two of them are always talking big.
Devil Z then speaks, calling them all fools. Mega tells the others to kneel, and as they do, Devil Z asks how they let the Cybertrons snatch a second Godmaster. Giga says they have no excuses and Mega says it won't happen again. Devil Z says that there are three Godmaster remaining. They must be found and made into Destrons, no matter the costs. He tells them that their may be memories of the whereabouts of the other Godmasters inside the Transtectors of Hydra and Buster. As Mega says they shall check immediately, Devil Z says they are not to fail again.
In California, the Cybertrons have gathered at the ocean research institute to meet their new team member, Lightfoot. They talk about the other Godmasters, and Lightfoot suggests that they check the Canadian rocky mountains. His theory is that some of the materials to build his car 15 years a go were located there. Ginrai thinks that if they go there, they could find something. Since they need a geology specialist, Lander says he'll go, but Diver and Phoenix can't due to work commitments. Hawk and the Headmaster Juniors take their place for the trip.
Back at the Destron base, Mega scans Hydra and Buster's jets. Her computer finds something from the jets, revealing some kind of information. A map is displayed on the computer of North America, and Mega says that they must search there.
Later on, the Cybertrons arrive at their destination. Hawk, Lander, Ginrai and Lightfoot head out, as they are going to investigate a mine nearby. Cab wants to fish since he plans to make a big feat for everyone, although Minerva thinks he'll only catch something small. Nearby, Hydra and Buster meet the Destron Headmaster Juniors. They say that they are going to search to the south, leaving the three of them to search this area -not that they will find anything.
As Hydra and Buster leave, Cancer hates the way they talk, but Wilder says they can just mess around for a while and then go home. Bullhorn thinks that sounds good and says they should go hunting so they can have a barbeque. Elsewhere, Ginrai's group reach the mine entrance, and Lightfoot says this was the place his father found the ore which he used to make his first car. The mine has been abandoned, so the group moves in.
Suddenly a Mountie appears and tells them to wait. He warns them that the mine is dangerous, and they shouldn't go in. There has been a lot of cave-ins and only those who don't value their lives should enter it. Ginrai says they're free to go in, and move inside it despite the warning. Since they won't listen, he rides off. Minerva is picking some mushrooms, when she sees a house nearby. As she moves in closer, she sees something else: Bullhorn! He is talking to the Mountie, who gives him some directions. Bullhorn runs off, but Minerva is more concerned about the other man -could he be a new Destron Godmaster?!
Minerva returns to Shuuta and Cab, who have caught nothing except a large tree log. They pull the thing out of the water just as the Mountie walks down. He says you can catch a lot of fish here, and he always gets big ones. To prove a point, only a few seconds after he casts his fishing rod, he gets a bite, and pulls out a huge king salmon!
Shuuta and Cab rush over as he tells them that this fish is one of the smaller ones. It is because of the special bait he uses, and he gives some to Cab so he can have another try. Cab soon also catches a large king salmon, and is pleased with it. He thanks the guy, and they find out his name: Ranger. Ranger says that his log cabin is just in the woods opposite the lake, so if they need anything, they can drop in at any time.
Ranger picks up his catch and then walks off, but Minerva doesn't like him and still thinks he is a Destron. Later on, the Cybertrons have a meal, and Lightfoot congratulates Minerva on her culinary expertise. Cab thinks everyone is too nice to girls -he caught the fish after all! Hawk and Lander are having a look at the ore sample they took from the mine, but Lander says it is nothing special, and is just ordinary iron ore.
As night sets in, a strong wind batters the Cybertron's tent and is in danger of blowing it away. Ginrai says they need to find shelter elsewhere, and Cab suggests they go to Ranger's place. Bullhorn is also leading Wilder and Cancer to the log cabin, but they stop when they see the Cybertrons at the door.
Ranger lets the Cybertrons inside and gives them tea. Lightfoot asks if Ranger gets bored living by himself, but he says that he disliked the noisy life of the city and so came here. As the adults continue to chat, Minerva tells Shuuta and Cab that she saw Ranger talking to Bullhorn earlier. She thinks he might be a Destron, but Cab can't believe that and thinks she must be mistaken.
Outside, the Destron Headmaster Juniors get next to a window, and Wilder tells his friends to listen in closely to whatever the Cybertrons talk about. Inside, Lander points out the many paintings Ranger has done of the same mountain. Ranger says he likes that mountain a lot, and it seems to call out to him. Ginrai thinks he could be on to something and asks if he climbed it. Ranger says he has, so Ginrai asks if something happened when he did. Ranger says nothing exciting happened, although one time, he found this strange rock. He explains that he came across some glowing snow...
...which melted as he got close, revealing the strange rock. He took the rock back down with him and he keeps it in the stable next to his house, so a specialist could take a look at it. Ginrai wants to see this rock immediately, and despite Ranger wanting to wait, he agrees to take them out to his barn out back. They head inside, and Ranger still can't understand why they are in such a rush.
He shows them a rock, and Ginrai and Lightfoot's bracelets start glowing. The rock itself then also starts to glow, and Ginrai says that it must be a Godmaster's transtector! Ranger just wants to know what is going on.
Ginrai puts some Master-braces on Ranger, and when he tries to get them off, he can't! Lightfoot says that he is one of them. Ranger asks what that is supposed to mean.
Ginrai: "We're Transformers!"
Ranger: "Is that a circus group?"
"Waaaah!"
The next morning, Hawk goes through the history of the Cybertron and Destron war with Ranger, and asks if he could join them. Ranger can't quite believe it -people who become robots? Ginrai is about to show him how it is done, when the cabin begins to shake.
The Destrons Headmaster Juniors have appeared, and trash the barn. Wilder gets his hands on the transtector, whilst Cancer and Bullhorn completely flatten the barn. The Cybertrons rush outside, but they are too late. The Destrons fire at the cabin, setting it on fire, before running away.
Ginrai and Lightfoot use the Masterforce to transform and go after them, whilst Metalhawk and Lander change to their robot modes. They tell Shuuta, Cab and Minerva to handle things here whilst they go after the Destrons. As Ginrai and Lightfoot close in, the Destrons stop, turn around, and open fire.
Lightfoot avoids their shots and shoots back, hitting the transtector and causing Wilder to drop it. It starts to roll down a hill, so Wilder and Cancer go after it as Ginrai pursuits them. Meanwhile Bullhorn gets into a firefight with Lightfoot.
Cancer stops and fires on Ginrai, whilst Wilder continues to run. Ginrai shoots back, but then Metalhawk and Lander appear to help him out. Metalhawk tells Ginrai to go after Wilder whilst they keep Cancer busy. Back at the house, most of the fires have been put out.
Minerva is also helping out, by trying to heal Ranger's horse, but she says things don't look good. Ranger goes back into his home and grabs a gun -he'll give those damn Destrons what's coming to them. Meanwhile, Wilder has got the transtector, but Ginrai tackles him and the two fall off a cliff and into the lake below.
Ginrai manages to get his hands on the transtector and swims off, only for Hydra and Buster to appear. They fire on Ginrai, causing him to stop. This gives Wilder the chance to grab him and drag him under the water, demanding he releases his grip on the transtector.
Back in the air, Hydra and Buster combine into their Darkwings mode and drop depth charges everywhere. These explode under the water, causing Wilder to lose his grip whilst Ginrai gets blasted out. He lands on some land near a cliff, as Hydra and Buster transform to their robot modes and move in.
However, Ranger appears on the cliff and takes a shot at Hydra, hitting him in the eye. Buster sees him and shoots at the cliff, causing it to crumble and making Ranger fall!
Ginrai yells out to Ranger, telling him to cross his arms and shout "Masterforce". Ranger quickly does this, and after a flash of light, he finds that he is wearing some armor. Ginrai tells him to shout "Transform, God On!" and he can merge with his transtector! Ranger says the words...
...and the transtector begins to glow. After another bright flash of light, Ranger's transtector takes the form of a vehicle, and Ranger merges with it. The vehicle is a four wheeled buggy, which transforms into a robot.
RANGER
Ranger is ready to fight, as Ginrai transforms to Super Ginrai and the other Cybertrons circle Hydra and Buster. At the opposite side of the lake, Wilder climbs out, cursing Hydra for trying to kill him also. Bullhorn says they should help the Godmaster brothers, but Wilder decides to leave them and says they shall just leave this place instead. As the odds are so against them, Hydra and Buster also decide to retreat.
When they arrive at the Destron base, Devil Z calls them lowly cowards and tortures them both, along with Giga and Mega. Giga says his anger is justified and Mega begs that he spares them just one more time. Devil Z tells them to understand this: they will obtain the remaining Godmasters!
Back in the mountains, Minerva apologizes to Ranger for thinking he was a Destron. He's surprised -does he really look that evil? Shuuta and Cab agree -but if it was Ginrai, they could understand her concern. Ginrai takes offense and chases the two of them around the cabin, as Hawk says it is a shame what has happened to Ranger's home. Ranger is alright about it, as it can be rebuilt again. But he asks that they treat him well until then. Hawk realises that Ranger is joining their forces, and the third Cybertron Godmaster has been born.
NOTES
Ginrai refers to his and Lightfoot's bracelets as "God-braces" at one point. They are usually known as "Master-braces".
