Synopsis

At Hellsing HQ, Integra has called together the Round Table, meeting with several others who discuss the recent increase of vampire attacks. She reveals that they've found chips embedded into the defeated vampires, chips which transmit information back to whoever it is who is creating them. Down in the basement, Seras isn't pleased that her bed has been destroyed, and she is told by Walter she must now sleep in a coffin. As she won't drink blood, she must sleep in a coffin filled with the soil of her birth place, as this is the only way she can keep up her strength. Alucard then appears, and Walter presents him with a new weapon: the Jackal, a powerful new combat pistol which should be enough to take down Father Anderson.

Outside the Hellsing HQ, two vampires called Luke Valentine and Jan Valentine arrive. They invade the HQ with an army of armored ghouls, and start killing anyone they find. Luke heads down into the sub levels so he can fight Alucard, whilst Jan starts moving from floor to floor, heading towards where the Round Table conference room is. Integra contacts Walter, and he suggests they'll split into two groups. He and Seras will head to the conference room via the air ducts, whilst Alucard will head upstairs.

Jan makes it to the floor where the conference room is, but many of his ghoul army gets sliced apart by Walter or blown up by Seras. Seras manages to get Jan into a hold, and Walter starts asking him questions about what his objective is and who he's taking orders from.

Meanwhile, Alucard waits in his chambers, having gotten bored of waiting for Luke. Luke eventually does arrive and starts fighting with Alucard. Luke says he has all of Alucard's powers and more, and he uses his incredible speed to dodge all of Alucard's shots. Alucard gets shot several times, but doesn't seem to care at all. Back in the corridor, Jan reveals that all of the slain Hellsing soldiers are now ghouls, which he has attack Seras and Walter.

With them distracted, Jan manages to make it to the conference room, but is immediately shot up by Integra and the Round Table members. Alucard decides to show Luke how a real vampire does battle, and changes his form to that of a dog. Realizing he's not on Alucard's level after all, Luke attempts to flee, but has his legs blown off.

Alucard wants to continue the fight and encourages Luke to do so, but Luke screams and calls him a monster. Realizing how worthless Luke really is, Alucard consumes him. Back in the corridor, Seras starts fighting the ghouls, and loses herself to violence. Integra, seeing her own men being torn apart, has to rush over and stop her from fighting.

Integra and Walter question Jan, but he says the chip inside him will be transmitting data back to his superiors, and they aren't going to let him live. Sure enough, Jan then bursts into blue flames. Just before he dies, he tells them to beware the Millennium. Integra asks Walter to shoot the remaining ghouls, but Sir Irons tells her that won't do. Telling Integra that this is her responsibility, he passes her a gun and tells her she must do it. Integra complies, as Irons tells Walter to look into Millennium.

Sometime later, Walter has not been able to find out anything useful about Millennium, and says all it means is the span of 1,000 years. Integra realizes it does mean something -the empire of the Millennium... the order that wanted the glory of the 1,000 year kingdom and plunged the planet into a world war. Hitler's Germany -the Millennium order of the Third Reich! At an undisclosed location, several soldiers stand to attention and look towards their leader: The Major. He tells them that all is well, and the experiment can move ahead.

Manga differences

-The episode's opening scene, where Alucard has a dream about his past, is in the manga, but isn't shown until later on.

-In the manga, Walter and Seras have some extra dialogue, where Seras says she feels that if she drinks blood, something will have ended forever. Some of what Seras says was used towards the end of the previous episode.

-Alucard also has some extra dialogue in the manga, saying there may still be a place for Seras. Again, some of what he says was used in the OVAs, at the end of the previous episode.

-Seras is not seen admiring Alucard' new pistol in the manga like she does in the episode.

-In the manga, Walter is seen dragging a case out with the Harkonnen inside it. He doesn't do this in the episode, he just suddenly has it.

-The Hellsing forces outside the HQ wear police uniforms in the manga, whilst in the episode, they were army-style uniforms.

-One of the police men uses a whistle when Luke and Jan approach in the manga, this doesn't happen in the episode.

-In the episode, you actually get to see the Major when Luke talks about him. In the manga, you only see his silhouette.

-In the manga, Jan is not seen doing his up, up, down, down Konami firing, that was something added for the episode.

-The manga shows a helicopter getting blown up, whilst the episode only mentions the heliport being destroyed.

-The scene with Luke getting attacked whilst looking at the picture was not in the manga.

-In the manga, Seras gets stuck trying to get out of the vent, and when she eventually gets free, she falls to the floor. In the episode, she doesn't get stuck, but falls onto Sir Penwood.

-In the manga, Walter takes down one ghoul when Jan first sees him. In the episode, he kills two.

-The manga doesn't have Walter tear off one of Jan's lip rings like he does in the episode.

-In the manga, Jan seems surprised when Seras takes him down, and is unaware Hellsing had someone like her. In the episode, he's already aware of her.

-The episode gives Luke some extra dialogue before his fight with Alucard begins, some of the stuff like him being afraid of Alucard before he was turned into a vampire was not in the manga.

-In the episode, one of Alucard's shots causes an explosion, which surprises Luke. This isn't in the manga.

-There is a funeral scene in both the manga and the episode. Walter has dialogue in the manga, but as the scene is part of the end credits in the episode, he doesn't say anything.

-In the manga, the scene with the Major saying the experiment can move ahead happens before the funeral scene and the scene where Integra realizes what Millennium is. In the episode, it happens after the scene where Integra realizes what Millennium is.

Notes

-In the English dub, when Jan starts shooting up multiple Hellsing soldiers, he starts yelling "left, right, left right" and then says "death by Konami". This is a reference to the Konami code. The Japanese dub also has him reference the inputs for the code, but he doesn't explicitly mention Konami.

-The end credits feature characters who will be appearing in the next episode, including Tubalcain and Vernedead.
