Synopsis
In the aftermath of the Valentine's attack, the forces of Hellsing are stretched thin. Integra receives a letter from Iscariot, inviting her to the National Gallery. She goes there and meets Iscariot's leader, Maxwell. Maxwell insults her and her organization, but reveals that vampires have been appearing in Rome, implanted with chips that were made in the UK. Seras and some other Hellsing solders go after another vampire, who escapes into the London underground. The vampire creates many ghouls that the unit has to shoot down.
Alucard appears at the gallery, displeased with Maxwell's attitude. Maxwell hints that Anderson is also around, and has been sent to deal with the underground vampire -but will also kill anyone from Hellsing he finds. Sure enough, Anderson kills the vampire himself, along with his remaining ghouls. The Hellsing forces find the train and see all of the dead ghouls, but they quickly find Anderson. They start fighting him, but several are slaughtered. Alucard then appears, challenging Anderson to a duel to the death.
Using his new Jackal gun, Alucard seemingly does serious damage to Anderson, causing him to retreat. However Anderson soon recovers and slices the train in half, cutting Alucard's head off in the process. He throws the head to Seras, who jumps out of the train and retreats. Anderson follows her, only for Alucard to revive.
The duel continues, resulting in Anderson having his arms blown off. He grabs a bayonet in his mouth and attempts to stab Alucard with it, but Alucard shoots the bayonet to pieces and says he's had enough fun for tonight. Anderson tells Alucard he'll kill him the next time they meet, then disappears. News of Anderson's defeat reaches Maxwell, as Integra tells him that Hellsing will never yield and will grind to dust any obstacles in their way. She tells Maxwell that should he wish to see the morning, he should run home quickly.
-In the manga, Walter's report has him state there are far fewer Hellsing survivors than what he states in the anime.
-When Integra and Walter discuss the remaining staff, they then start talking about Millennium, the name Jan said before he died. In the anime they don't talk about it because Jan never mentioned it.
-Between the above and the gallery scene, the manga has a scene were the Wild Geese mercenary group is introduced. This group are not featured in the anime at all.
-In the manga, Walter gives Integra the Iscariot letter after the Wild Geese scene. In the anime, Integra finds the letter on her own desk.
-During the meeting between Integra and Maxwell, Walter is present in the manga. He's not there in the anime.
-A key difference between the manga and the anime is that in the manga, Maxwell summons Anderson at the gallery, leading him to almost fighting Alucard there. Seras is able to stop them via a distraction. In the anime, Anderson doesn't appear at the gallery.
-Another difference is that Integra and Maxwell do eventually talk at the gallery on good terms -Maxwell reveals what he knows about Millennium, who are Nazi vampires and the manga's man bad guys. Millennium don't appear in the anime, so this scene isn't present.
-The underground subway scenes do not appear in the manga, including Anderson's flashback.
-The part where Alucard gets his head cut off, only for him to revive later, does happen in the manga as well, but in part of the Sword Dancer storyline.
-Anderson's flashback is never brought up again. It's not clear who it was he was fighting, or how he got out of it.
-At the end of the credits, there is a shot of Alucard's sunglasses. One of three characters can be seen in them in each episode: Alucard, Seras or Integra. In this episode, Alucard is seen.
