On Jaar, Cyclonus and Scourge listen to an SOS signal. They find that the signal is coming from planet Sandra, a planet that they have never heard of. Cyclonus says they should leave it but Scourge wants to report it to Galvatron. The two go inside city mode MegaZarak and inform Galvatron, telling him that Sandra only has around a year of energy supplies left. Scorponok says they shouldn't get involved, and Galvatron agrees with him. However Galvatron later tells Ratbat to go to Athenia -the Cybertrons have most likely received the SOS also, and he wants to know what they are going to do.
On Athenia, the Cybertrons have received the SOS, and Fortress had made an amazing discovery -planet Sandra lies in a parallel dimension. The dimension has the same number of planets as their solar system, with Sandra being the equivalent of Earth. They discuss what they should do -almost everyone is in favor of taking energy supplies to Sandra, but Spike says they shouldn't be hasty. They themselves only have a few decades worth of energy left themselves. However Fortress reminds him that Sandra only has a year. That SOS was sent in desperation, they can't turn them down.
Later on Spacepunch informs Fortress that the Destrons have picked up the SOS signal, but are not going to do anything about it. He transforms into Counterpunch and heads back to Jaar, to continue monitoring things there. Fortress goes back inside and tells Spike they are the only ones who can save Sandra. Spike decides they should help, and that it would be easier for them to ship some energon from Earth rather than Athenia, as they have a larger stockpile on Earth. Ultra Magnus sends some data on how much they can spare, and whilst it isn't that much, they think the people of Sandra will happily accept it. Outside the room, Ratbat has been listening in.
Elsewhere, the Cybertron Headmasters are making sure their transectors are in good condition, although Daniel and Wheelie are fooling around. Hardhead tells everyone that they will be going to Sandra. The Cybertron Headmasters regroup, but Daniel and Wheelie want to go also, promising not to get in the way. Chromedome says they should go, as this mission won't have any fighting. Spike says it could be a good experience for his son, so Fortress allows it.
Ratbat returns to Jaar and tells Galvatron about what the Cybertrons are going to do about the SOS. Both of them think that the Cybertrons are fools for giving away their own energy to someone else, and Galvatron says all the energy on Earth belongs to them. Galvatron heads to Earth and meets Sixshot, who tells him where they are monitoring the Cybertrons and will be ready to move in when needed.
Near Cybertron City, Ultra Magnus is supervising some other Cybertrons as they load up energon cubes onto the Trainbots. Twincast appears and lets him know that Galvatron has just departed from Jaar, just as the Techbots and Protectbots finish loading. Before the Trainbots can move out, Galvatron and some Destrons appear in the sky, and start firing.
The Trainbots attempt to leave, but get blasted apart by Galvatron. Galvatron jumps towards them, but is stopped by Ultra Magnus. As the two of them fight, the other Cybertrons and Destrons combine into their super robot forms and battle each other.
The Trainbots attempt to leave for the second time, but Sixshot appears and stops them via shooting down Shouki. Ultra Magnus throws Galvatron away and then rushes off to contact Athenia. Arcee tells Fortress on what is happening on Earth, and that the Destrons are trying to steal the energon cubes. Fortress knows the Destrons won't destroy what they want, and comes up with a plan.
He checks some data and figures out that they have roughly the same amount of energon cubes here as they do in the shipment they were going to send from Earth. So they will ship the energy from Athenia instead, to deceive the Destrons. Fortress lets Ultra Magnus know of his plan, and on Earth, Galvatron is surprised when the Cybertrons suddenly start unloading the Trainbots. Sixshot suggests that the Cybertrons must be shipping their energon cubes from Athenia instead. He says he will check it out, but Galvatron tells him not to bother -he can get Scorponok to go.
Battleship Maximus has already taken off, and there is a smaller ship on it. Inside, Daniel hopes that the people of Sandra can speak the same language as them, but Spike says they'll manage somehow. Fortress has the ship go at full speed, but then something is seen on the radar -MegaZarak!
The Destron Headmasters are sent out, so the Cybertron Headmasters also leave their ship to fight them. MegaZarak transforms into robot mode, and he says he'll get that energon even if he has to kill Fortress for it. He lands on the back of Battleship Maximus, as inside the ship, Fortress tells Spike, Daniel and Wheelie to get going.
Chromedome and Hardhead leave their transectors, and are now in their smaller robot forms. The two get onboard the smaller ship, where Spike and the others are waiting. They blast off, but MegaZarak sees them. He tries to follow the ship, but is stopped thanks to Fortress blasting him with his ship's laser cannons. The smaller ship is loaded with the energon cubes, and Chromedome says they should arrive in the other dimension soon.
The ship heads through a dimensional rift -and after a short, rough journey, the Cybertrons exit the rift and see a planet much like Earth -it must be Sandra. Chromedome takes the ship down, and they see that Sandra has become a desert wasteland, with buildings in need of repair.
They try and contact the people of the planet, and one responds, telling them where they can land. The Cybertrons enter a tower, where some of Sandra's representatives greet them. They explain that a few decades a go, Sandra was a great planet, but the people on it wasted what they had, using up too much energy and depleting their energy resources. They thought their energy was unlimited, and so used more than was necessary In a few years, they will have finished research on developing a new energy resource, but in that time, they would have ran out of energy themselves. Spike is now glad they came here, but then they see something in the sky.
Fortress has arrived on Sandra, but so has MegaZarak! Chromedome explains that the Destrons are their enemies, but they will defeat them. He and Hardhead leave, but Chromedome has an idea and tells Hardhead that they should stay in their smaller robot modes for a bit. Galvatron also arrives on Sandra and starts blasting Battleship Maximus, but then ventures in to one of the cities to search for the energon. Brainstorm and Highbrow go after him, but are intercepted by the Destron Headmasters.
MegaZarak throws Maximus into the ground, and then lands on the ship and starts smashing it. However, he doesn't know that Chromedome and Hardhead have gotten onto him, and have set two highly powerful bombs up. As they move back, MegaZarak suffers from two large explosions, and moves up into the air. He is then rocked by several more explosions, and is forced to retreat.
The other Destrons are holding out in a tower, but retreat when it is blown up by the Cybertrons. With the energy for Sandra now safe, the Cybertrons leave the planet whilst the Sandra leaders wave goodbye and say that they will continue their energy research. Battleship Maximus blasts off and heads back to Athenia.
NOTES
In previous episodes, Scorponok appears inside the base mode MegaZarak when he talks to other Destrons, but starting with this episode, he is not seen whilst speaking inside MegaZarak, and is only heard as a disembodied voice. This continues for the next few episodes.
