Mindwipe places the bombs into a backpack and is ready to move out. Scorponok then appears and says that to avoid a panic, nobody else can no about the bombs until they have been set. He hopes they are successful in their mission.
Meanwhile the Cybertron Headmasters wonder why the Destron Headmaster suddenly ran away. They think that maybe a battle broke out elsewhere that they had to help out in, but Brainstorm thinks they were called away because something important came up. They decide to split up and search. Elsewhere on Cybertron, the Trainbots block of the Animatrons, saying this is as far as they go. The two teams start to fight each other.
The fighting is still happening all over Cybertron, as Guardian jump punches Bruticus to the floor. This is seen by Galvatron and Soundblaster. Galvatron wants reinforcements, but Soundblaster says that if they send for more troops, Rodimus Convoy will just send in more troops also. Galvatron just says they need to act now and wipe the Cybertrons out. Scorponok then appears and suggests that Galvatron faces the facts: they are losing, so they need to chance tactics. Galvatron tells him to keep out of this, so Scorponok complies.
Meanwhile Rodimus has recovered and is back on Battleship Maximus, discussing what is going on. They find out that fighting is going on all over the place. He wants to concentrate their forces and have them all join up together, but Fortress seems concerned that he intends to continue the fighting. Rodimus says they must give up their lives for this -as the Cybertonuron could now go into production. They cannot allow the Destrons to get it. As the battles on Cybertron go on...
...Chromedome is searching for the Destron Headmasters and comes across two of them. He transforms but stays back, wondering why he can only see Mindwipe and Weirdwolf -where is Skullcruncher? He then sees that Mindwipe has something on his back, and concludes that these Destrons are up to something.
Mindwipe and Weirdwolf see Skullcruncher, who has created an entrance. Weirdwolf tells Mindwipe that it is over to him now. Once he sets up those three bombs, he'll have 30 minutes to get off Cybertron before it explodes. Whilst he gets to Vector Sigma, Weirdwolf says he and Skullcruncher will stay here and keep guard. Chromedome sees Mindwipe head inside and thinks that he must be going to Vector Sigma to try and take control of it. Chromedome uses a telepathic communication technique that he and his team developed on Master. He tells his allies that there is a serious issue and tells them to meet with him.
When Fortress hears him, he communicates back that he has an important message for him -the Cybertonuron has been created. The other Headmasters arrive at where Chromedome is, and believe that Mindwipe is trying to get to Vector Sigma to try and steal the first batch of Cybertonuron the computer creates, or to steal the data on how to create Cybertonuron. Mindwipe only set of 10 minutes a go, so they still have time to stop him. Hardhead says they'll just have to move in, and runs straight towards the Destrons.
Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher fire upon the Cybertrons, but the odds aren't in their favor. Chromedome manages to get past them both and heads inside.
Fortress then arrives in his ship and asks about what is going on. Highbrow explains that the Destrons may be planning on doing something with Vector Sigma, and Chromedome has already gone in. Fortress says they must assist, and uses one of the ship's cannons to cause a large explosion, knocking Skullcruncher and Weirdwolf back. This gives Highbrow, Brainstorm and Hardhead the chance to run in.
Chromedome is trying to find Vector Sigma but thinks he may have taken the wrong route. However, there are no other ways forward other than across the bridge, so he starts to go across it. But the bridge is in a battered condition and part of it breaks away as he steps on it. He ends up falling.
Elsewhere the other Cybertron Headmasters are making their way towards Vector Sigma, but have to deal with the computer's defenses, which have apparently malfunctioned and are targeting them. Mindwipe also has similar problems, as he is being harassed by a bunch of bats -why are bats attacking a bat? He hates bats! Outside, Fortress checks on Vector Sigma and sees there seems to be nothing wrong with it. He wonders if something has happened to Chromedome though, as he has not reported in.
Chromedome is still alive and finds himself in a room with several broken pipes, each one releasing sulphuric acid. He gets out of there quickly. The other Cybertrons are monitoring Vector Sigma when Daniel asks what the completed Cybertonuron will do for them. Rodimus Convoy says it will help them greatly as it is a many times stronger alloy than Cybertonium. With Cybertonuron, they would be able to defend themselves and other beings with ease. But before they can do that, they must defeat the Destrons.
The bats chasing Mindwipe finally give up after he falls down some stairs, but as he opens a door, he realises that he's finally found it -Vector Sigma! He quickly runs in and sets two of the three bombs up on the structure that houses Vector Sigma. Chromedome appears, but Mindwipe has already gotten 2 of the 3 bombs ready.
He shows Chromedome the final one and says that once the timer is started, it cannot be stopped. These bombs will destroy Vector Sigma and planet Cybertron. He plants the third bomb on a wall, but Chromedome immediately tosses him away and tries to remove it. But he can't seem to get it off. Mindwipe transforms and says his efforts are useless, but he should keep playing around with it if he wants to die. He starts to leave, but Chromedome wants to know how to deactivate the bombs. Mindwipe says that he shouldn't waste his time, as he has less than 30 minutes to get out of here. Mindwipe then leaves.
The timers are ticking. The other Cybertron Headmasters enter the room, but are followed by Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher. They want to know where Mindwipe is, but are told he got scared and ran off. The two Destrons then see that the bombs have already been planted, and fall over each other trying to run away.
Chromedome explains to the others what has happened, and they try to remove the bombs, but they can't get them off. Chromedome wants to stay until the end, but agrees to leave when Highbrow points out that their fellow Cybertrons are still completely oblivious to what is going to happen, and it takes time to evacuate and alert everyone. They head back up towards the surface. Meanwhile, Soundblaster tells Galvatron that the reinforcements are not going to get here in time. Galvatron demands for him to get them here at any cost.
Scorponok then appears, saying they don't have time -they all must evacuate this planet at once. Galvatron doesn't want to listen to him but Scorponok says he should, as in 15 minutes this planet is going to explode. He has had bombs planet on Vector Sigma. They would be at a large disadvantage if the Cybertrons got that new alloy, so he had to do this to ensure a Destron victory. Galvatron calls him a fool, as he had no right to do that, and starts to run to stop the bombs. Soundblaster tells him to wait, but Galvatron isn't pleased with him -his job is to gather intelligence, how did he not find out about this?! As Galvatron runs towards Vector Sigma, Soundblaster thinks about how their leader never learns.
The Cybertron Headmasters have returned and have told Fortress what the Destrons have done. Fortress informs Rodimus, stating that they have only 10 minutes left already. They must evacuate. Rodimus asks if there is any way they can stop this, as whilst the alloy may explode, he does not want the same fate to happen to Cybertron itself. Fortress says his Headmasters tried but they couldn't remove the bombs. Daniel becomes almost hysterical over what is about to happen to the planet...
...but Fortress picks him up and just says that it is a fact -he hates it, but there is nothing they can do. Elsewhere Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher have gotten back to the surface and have found Mindwipe -Skullcruncher isn't happy with him, as how could he leave them behind? Mindwipe thought they were outside whilst he was inside, but Weirdwolf says they can argue later -they need to just get off this world, and they soon do. Meanwhile Galvatron continues to run, thinking about how this planet is his and he won't let anyone destroy it.
Rodimus takes a last look at his homeworld when Chear says they had best leave. They get onboard the Trainbots, who are packed full of other Cybertrons, and take off, as Fortress does the same in his ship.
There is under 15 seconds to go, but then Galvatron arrives in Vector Sigma.
"I made it in time..."
"?!"
Galvatron is too late - the bombs detonate, and there is a massive explosion in the room.
Vector Sigma is destroyed, and the entire planet starts to self-destruct. Cybertron is rocked by many massive explosions, and after the fires die down and the smoke clears, all that is left of the planet is an uninhabitable husk. More than half of the planet no longer even exists.
Later on, the Cybertrons return to their devastated homeworld. Rodimus Convoy looks around, seeing nothing but devastation, and picks up a piece of metal. He thinks about how Fortress was right. Daniel says they should all go home to Athenia.
Rodimus declines. He says that he has a journey he must make. The age of old transformers like him has passed, and this is an age for the young. He is going to go on a journey to find a new planet for them to live on, a planet without war. Fortress says that need Rodimus to be their Supreme Commander, but Rodimus says he will leave someone else to lead them. That someone is Fortress, and he will be the Cybertron Supreme Commander as of today. Fortress accepts, and thinks about how there is no point in him resisting this new promotion as it is his destiny. Rodimus says he will see them again.
Before he can leave, Chear and Blurr say they want to come with him. Rodimus lets them, but when Arcee tries to go, Rodimus says she cannot. Daniel and Wheelie need someone to look after them, what will they do if she leaves? There are enough of them on this journey already. Rodimus tells Daniel to take care -they will meet again.
He, Chear and Blurr fly away, leaving the other Cybertrons behind. As Fortress and the others watch them depart, the narrator says that heavy losses were sustained over the Cybertonuron -and planet Cybertron has now disappeared from the universe. But the dawning of a new age is approaching.
