In the ruins of Southern Cross, a man called Ryuga rides in on a horse, and stops before two grave markers. Saki appears, but she wonders who this man is.
Ryuga tells her not to worry, as he doesn't harm women or children. As Saki starts to clean the grave markers, he asks her if this is Southern Cross. She tells him it is, and it was once a prosperous capital, but now it has turned to this. She comes here once in a while to take care of the graves. She explains that one of the graves is for Lord Shin, whilst the other is for Yuria. Ryuga gets down from his horse, and takes out a flower.
He flicks it onto Yuria's grave, and returns to his horse. Saki asks who he is, and he tells her he's a wolf. He asks her to keep taking good care of those graves, and then leaves. He heads over to a cliff, and sees a rainbow over the city.
"Who will be the one to seize the rainbow in this chaotic era?"
Immeasurable solitude... his daunting gaze! A freezing star shines over the distant wasteland!
The Man of the Lone Wolf Star, Ryuga!
I Will Grasp the Rainbow from This Chaotic Era!!
At a village, a group of bandits have taken over the place. They kill some villagers and say that now that the Fist King has gone, they rule this place. The villagers are to live and die for them! The villagers are in despair, and one of them says it wasn't this bad with Lord Fist King around. One of them wishes Lord Fist King was here now, but a guy grabs him and asks him about what he just said. To him, the Fist King is just some loser!
A shadow is cast over the guy, and when he turns around, he realizes the Fist King is right behind him. The Black King stomps on him and snaps his spine. The Fist King looks at everyone.
The bandits all cower and bow down before him, begging to be forgiven. The Fist King responds by having his horse stomp all over them, killing them all. The villagers realize that the Fist King has returned.
At another village, a drunken underling of the Fist King called Abida selects the next villager to take part in their game. A guy called Gonzu eagerly places a chain on the guy.
The game they're playing is the human hammer throw. Gonzu swings the villager around a few times, and then lets go. The villager is sent flying upwards...
...and then crashes to the ground. Two guys check on the distance he traveled, and Gonzu is delighted to find out that he's set a new record! Abida is impressed, and decides that it's his turn now. As he tries to decide on who he's going to throw, the village elder begs him to stop this. Abida takes this as a sign of disobedience. The elder says that when Lord Fist King was here, he didn't take things this far.
Abida decides to just use the elder instead. Gonzu places the chain on him, and Abida says he must be aware of the phrase "when the cat's away, the mice will play". With the Fist King gone, he's running the show now! He starts swinging the elder around, and says he doesn't care if the Fist King never returns. Before he can make his throw, the chain slips out of his hands, which results in the elder being sent flying straight up.
The elder starts to fall back down, but someone saves him: Kenshiro. The elder thanks him, but tells him to run away, otherwise he'll be killed. Kenshiro tells him not to worry about him, it's those guys outside who are going to die.
Outside, everyone can hear someone walking down some steps. Gonzu wants to send whoever it is flying, and he and everyone else then sees Kenshiro walk out. Gonzu walks up to him and asks what his problem is. Kenshiro decides to challenge him.
He points to a building, so Gonzu looks at it. Gonzu doesn't understand what's so special about it, but Kenshiro tells him he'll fly to it. Gonzu turns back around, only for Kenshiro to kick him with such force...
...that he's sent flying into the building. He stomach explodes, and he falls down -the guys keeping distance realize it's a new record!
Two men try to attack Kenshiro, but he hits them so hard that they get sent flying into the sky. Abida decides to take Kenshiro on, and starts whirling around some tonfas. He claims to have killed over 1,000 people with these, and tries to attack Kenshiro with them. But Kenshiro kicks them out of his hands, and tells him it's his turn to fly now.
They then realize someone else is here: Ryuga. Abida knows he's Ryuga, but Ryuga tells him that he can't stand above others, so he will be taking this village from him. Ryuga then stares at Kenshiro.
Abida knows that Ryuga gathered up all of the Fist King's territories like a hyena, after the Fist King vanished. He says that the Fist King entrusted this village to him, and thinks Ryuga is trying to defy the Fist King. Ryuga compares him to being a wolf in sheep's clothing, and says he's boring him. This has nothing to do with the Fist King, and besides, he heard him and his men calling the Fist King names earlier. Abida picks up one of his tonfas and leaps towards Ryuga, screaming that he'll kill him.
Ryuga goes into a stance, and then releases an icy blast which tears a chunk of Abida's flesh out from his throat. Ryuga then leaps from his horse.

Like the eye of a wolf, it shines the brightest in heaven! Joining with no one, the lone wolf runs through the plains! It's an isolated star that runs through the heavens!
Kenshiro wonders if Ryuga aims to rule this chaotic world. Ryuga knows who Kenshiro is, and says he was hoping to meet him. He's the second man he's met with such powerful fighting spiritual energy. Kenshiro must know who the other man is -it's someone he knows well. Abida's remaining men attempt to walk off, but Ryuga tells them not to move -did they think he'd let them off so easily? They decide to try and run anyway, but one of them gets pierced by several spears.
Ryuga's army have got them surrounded. One of Abida's men begs Kenshiro to help him, and if he does, he'll put in a good word for him with the Fist King! Kenshiro tells him to give it up -what he's just said are the last words of a villain. Ryuga then appears behind him, and again, the guy begs to be spared. He promises he'll never pick on the weak again, but Ryuga says a tree has no need for any rotten branches.
He tears the guy apart, and then leaps over to the others. He says any rotten branches must be cut down, and then rips them all into pieces.
As they die, they say how cold and freezing they are. Ryuga returns to his horse, and asks Kenshiro if he thinks he's being cruel. He says that this chaotic world heeds a great tree to lean upon. One tree has immense power, it is named conquest. He says farewell to Kenshiro, but then says they'll likely meet again soon. He and his army then leave the village.
Later on, Raoh returns to his gigantic fortress. He goes inside, where several nervous-looking soldiers are lined up... and Ryuga is sat in his throne. As he approaches, Ryuga's underling, Garou, seems ready to strike Raoh. But Ryuga tells him to stand down.
Ryuga jumps aside, and bows down. He tells Raoh he has been waiting for his return. Raoh asks him if there have been any changes, so Ryuga explains he's trimmed some rotten branches that might have tarnished his legend. Raoh tells him good work, and then sits down.
He says that his own men seem to have misunderstood his methods. Ryuga says he'd prefer not to share his motives, but his pledge to him remains unchanged. Raoh asks him what he wants as a reward. Ryuga asks if he could duel with Kenshiro. Raoh asks him what for, so Ryuga says for the star of his destiny: Sirius.
Raoh says he has no reason to stop him, and tells him to fight all he wants. Ryuga says he will. Later on, Ryuga stands alone, and thinks that he will bear witness to Kenshiro's fate.
