In our last episode, Chun Li's father, Dorai, busted the heroin smuggling ring of the mysterious Ashura. In return, the Hong Kong underworld and their Thai allies tried to kidnap Chun Li. Fortunately, Ken and Ryu arrived in time to stop their plan, causing the criminals to stage an all out war on Dorai's dojo. With the help of Fei Long, the attacked was thwarted, but not before Ken and Ryu had their first exposure to the Thai martial art: Muay Thai.

A plane lands on a runway. Ryu and Ken have arrived at another airport, this time in:

They had told Chun Li, Dorai and Fei Long that they'd booked a flight to Thailand, to find some Muay Thai fighters who can show them the real thing. Fei long asked them to let him know when they're back, as he looking forward to his rematch with Ken. Dorai thought they were taking a big chance, as the Ashura knew who they are. He said enemies of the Ashura have a habit of disappearing, so they should be careful. Ryu and Ken said their goodbyes, and left.

Back in the present, Ken sees there are different lines for passport inspection, and tells Ryu he'll see him inside. As ryu lines up, he opens his bag up to get his passport out. But as he does, Donu appears. He runs forward and crashes into two ladies, but is clearly going for Ryu.

The ladies fall on Ryu, and he asks if they're alright. One of them tells him that that man pushed them over, and she points at Donu. Donu attempts to run through another line, but some guys shove him back. Ryu and Ken haven't seen Donu's face before, so they don't recognize him as being the guy who ran away from Dorai's dojo. But they do see that he has a scar on his face.

Ryu thinks that guy was a weirdo, but then resumes getting his passport checked. He's asked what the reason for his visit is, and he says he's here for a new discipline. The guy says his job gets stranger every day, but tells Ryu to go ahead. Ryu and Ken head down an escalator, but Ryu says the guys down there look serious. They see several armed guards checking through people's luggage. Ken says they're probably just checking for drugs, as he's heard they have a big problem with that in this country.

Ken goes through first, and is found to be clean. But one of the dogs starts barking at Ryu. Some of the guards point their guns at him.

One of them takes his bag, and then pats him down. Ryu says he didn't do anything, but the guard tells him to pipe down. Having found nothing on Ryu, he then starts searching his bag. The dog immediately jumps up and starts barking, and the guard finds a small package. He opens it up, finding some heroin inside it!

Ryu is immediately arrested, and taken away. Ken sees what's going on, but can't do anything. He turns around, and sees Donu. He recalls how he fell on Ryu.

He thinks this guy must have set Ryu up! He tells him to hold it, but Donu runs off, and shoves a trolley full of luggage towards him. Ken jumps over it.

Ken sees Donu run outside. He follows him, but once he gets out, he can't see Donu any more. Meanwhile, the airport police interrogate Ryu about the heroin -they want to know who he was delivering it for, and who was picking it up? The heroin found on him was pure, which means he got it right from the source.

Ryu says the heroin wasn't his, and tells them to listen. When he was waiting in line, there was a guy who crashed into him. During the chaos, he stuck the heroin in his luggage. The guards think he's lying, and start beating him. Raja, the head of the airport's police department, says enough. He tells Ryu to allow him to explain. Thailand, along with Cambodia and Laos, produces much of the world's supply of heroin, opium and marijuana.

He wants Ryu to understand that this part of the world is referred to by the police as the golden triangle. The smuggling operations are run by an international crime syndicate of immense power. Because Bangkok has a very busy airport, as it's in the middle of this triangle, they've become the base of operations for the drug cartel. Ryu says he understands, but it's like he's been telling them: he likes to keep his body in top physical condition, why would he abuse it with drugs? Raja wishes there was a way to explain to young people like Ryu the gravity of doing drugs, that way he wouldn't tell him lies. He's seen kids much younger than Ryu killed by drugs, once they get hooked, they're dead.

He says he's met hundreds of kids with the same innocent expression Ryu has now, but it was too late to save them. Ryu says he knows, but says he's not involved with drugs. Raja is beginning to think he may not be involved after all, but isn't going to let him go. They still found a large amount of pure heroin in his backpack. Maybe he's right about that man with a mask and scar planted it on him, but he has no evidence. Unless he can come up with proof, he will be held in prison as a suspect. He tells the guards to take him away. Ryu asks what'll happen if he can find the guy who did this to him. Raja says that if he can prove he framed him, he'll be freed. But he doesn't think Ryu will have much of a chance to find him in prison.

Ken sees Ryu being put into a police van. Ken says he'll find the guy who did this to him, and Ryu says he's counting on him. He shouts out that the guy had a scar on his cheek, whilst Ken tells him to try and not get into a fight, and just stay out of the way of the other prisoners. The police van leaves the airport.

Ryu is taken to a remote prison. Meanwhile, Ken calls his father. He tells him what's happened, and is grateful for his help. Mr. Masters tells his son to get busy, whilst he calls the secretary of state right now, to try and at least get Ryu out of that prison cell. He's also going to arrange for some agents of the US embassy of Thailand to assist his son.

Ryu is taken into the prison, where he meets the warden, Nuchi. Nuchi says he likes to greet all his new guests, and he's heard Ryu is arrogantly insisting that he's innocent. He's here to tell him he's not, because as the warden of this facility, it's his job to treat everybody here like the scum they are! He wraps a chain around Ryu, and throws him to the ground.

Nuchi says that the first rule of this prison is that you must feel fear: fear the guards, fear the other inmates, and worst of all, fear him! He starts battering Ryu with the chain.

Ken returns to the airport, where he meets with the embassy agents. One of them says they've been ordered by the United States government to help Ken in any way they can. Ken says his friend is being held for a crime that he didn't commit, so they have to find the man who set him up -he wants to find some leads on the guy. Back in the prison, Nuchi says Ryu has more guts than he gave him credit for. He decides to pull out all the stops, and make this welcome party one to remember. He still hasn't heard Ryu scream, and says if he does scream, he'll go easy on him. If he doesn't scream, every time the whip lands on him will add a year to his sentence! Ryu says nothing, so Nuchi starts lashing him, and tells him to cry out.

The agents start asking around for information on the guy with the scar, as does Ken. Ken says he swears by all that is holy that he won't rest until he's found the man who did this!

Nuchi continues to whip Ryu, but Ryu doesn't scream or cry. Nuchi eventually tires himself out, and falls to his knees. He calls Ryu a fool.

Later on, Ken comes across a few guys, and says he's looking for a man with a scar on his face. The guys tell him this isn't a very helpful neighborhood, and is pretty dangerous for a kid like him. He could get himself killed in this part of town, and nobody would ever find him... it could even happen this very minute. They want Ken to give them everything he has on him, if he has enough cash, they may even spare his worthless life. Ken says if they take off running, he promises not to hurt them. They attack, but he beats them all up.

At the prison, Ryu has been left in a cell. He wakes up, and a guard tells him to get up, as it's time to eat. The warden has been kind enough to donate a fresh prison uniform to him. Ryu gets up and goes into the prison's mess hall, where some of the prisoners look at him. They've heard that this is the guy who took a beating from Nuchi without ever screaming.

Ryu gets something to eat, but the cook gives him a very small portion. The cook says that's as much as new guys get, and tells him to move along. As Ryu walks off, one of the prisoners trips him up, causing him to spill his food everywhere. The prisoner says he's heard that Ryu was tough enough to get through Nuchi's torture, but tells him to listen. The way it is here is that Nuchi doesn't actually run this joint, and he's not the one to sweat over. It's the man over there.

The prisoner says that Mr. Sagat is the one who runs this place. He then stomps on Ryu's head and tells him he'd better eat, he shouldn't let that food go to waste. He wants to make Ryu lick the food off the floor, but Ryu yells out and snaps back, sending the prisoner flying.

He crashes into a table, whilst Ryu leaves. Later on, the prisoners all go outside, and Ryu is by himself.

Two prisoners come over, and one of them, Kikun, says Mr. Sagat wanted them to bring Ryu to him. Ryu says no thanks, but one of the prisoners says that criminals in for possession never get out without fewer than 10 years, so Ryu should take a little advice and be nice to Mr. Sagat at the beginning -you do not want to be on his bad side! Ryu says he's innocent, and assures them that before long, they won't even remember he was here. Kikun says like anyone cares if he's innocent or not. The other prisoner tells him they should show Ryu what kind of treatment that optimistic attitude of his is going to get him in here. He does a kick, but Ryu dodges it.

Kikun starts fighting Ryu, and Ryu recognizes his style as Muay Thai. The guards are happy to just watch, as Ryu takes several hits.

The two prisoners start stomping on Ryu, but Ryu recalls what Ken told him about trying to stay out of the way of the other prisoners. But as the two prisoners continue to attack Ryu and taunt him, he says sorry to Ken... these guys asked for it! He punches one of them and knocks him out. Kikun tells Ryu he's dead, only for Ryu to throw him into a wall face first, and then start punching him repeatedly.

He throws Kikun to the floor. Nearby, Sagat stops lifting weights, and gets up. Ryu stares at him.

Sagat says it looks like he's going to have to put Ryu in his place.

Ken draws closer to the mysterious Ashura, the crime gang behind Ryu's arrest. Meanwhile, Ryu is in for the fight of his life with the unstoppable Mr. Sagat, the ultimate master of the Muay Thai technique. Who is Mr. Sagat, and what is the secret of his power? Find out, in the next episode of Street Fighter II V: The Superstar of Muay Thai - The Grand Prison Battle Symphony. Gonna burn some muscle!
