Strangely, this version was released in 1996 -meaning it was out after the PC version of Super Turbo. It gets weirder though, as this game is actually a port of the SNES version. The PC version is mostly the same as the SNES version, but due to the difference in resolutions, the backgrounds look a lot taller and wider. You can see this with where the life bars are positioned. Another difference is that the announcer, who was mostly missing from the SNES version, has been restored -you'll hear him say things like character's names and more. However the music is not the same as the SNES version, and it sounds considerably worse here.

I think the big question with this version is why was it made in the first place? Why randomly port Super Street Fighter II in 1996, when stuff like the SF Alpha series out, and why port the SNES version? It's not like PCs couldn't handle an arcade perfect version.

There are two different releases of this port: a standard version, and then an alternate version called Super Street Fighter II: Bonus Pack. The bonus version comes bundled with a six button controller.
